  1. It takes a while for that to roll out to everyone. I got the update, but didn't have the "Ok Google" part for a couple of days. I reset my phone yesterday to install the 4.3 update (SWG) and was still using the old "Google" until just a couple of hours ago.

  2. The Nexus 4 didn't show the LTE radios in the FCC filing either, did it? Didn't need to be certified since they were disabled by the baseband, right? Maybe someone can get creative and do the same if the radios are actually there.

  3. Saturated LTE sector.  Too many customers/devices on one sector.

That sounds weird to me for my area where most people seem to be on AT&T or Verizon. I've noticed in SignalCheck that I bounce back and forth between 2 sectors on the same tower which really bugs me, but I can pull less than 1Mbps with a -104 LTE signal.

Oh well, hopefully the combination of NV and moving to Chattanooga will help.

  4. Here's two from my area...LTE and EVDO.  And it doesn't take many customers to do this as this market has a very small percentage of Sprint customers.  By lunch time, LTE is 2000+ ms pings and EVDO is dead, leaving you with no data icon/connection.  Sprint has a long way to go to turn customers around here.  The only reason I'm here is I'm cheap, SERO offers the discount for this market mess, and the unlimited data.

I've got basically the same thing, maybe a little faster depending on the time of day. Any idea why this is?

  5. No, if he does not list the market(s) where he tested the device, he is doing a disservice to consumers.  That is shoddy reporting.  Wireless coverage is all about location, location, location.

I don't completely disagree. I think he's right to mention that Sprint's network underperforms compared to AT&T and Verizon in many places, but he definitely should have mentioned his market and that Sprint is overhauling their entire network. I believe Android Central typically does that.

  6. To play devil's advocate, if he's reviewing a device for consumers and has poor coverage in his area then he's doing his part as a consumer advocate to stay away from what he perceives as a spotty network. It will be old news for current Sprint customers, and it serves as a warning to not switch to Sprint just for the Note 3. I probably wouldn't recommend Sprint to most people in my area because the promise of a great network in the future isn't enough to stake my reputation on.

For me, it's fun to watch the rollout, even if LTE is sub-3G speed in my neighborhood.

  7. Wouldn't real leather just get worn out from repeatedly being slid in and out of pockets, handled, getting wet on occasion, etc?

No more than your wallet would I imagine. I've had mine for over 5 years, and it's only wearing on the folds. Even there it's just the coloring.

  8. Just don't use the leather from cows with a high iron intake right? ;)

Yar. My only concern would be if the antenna was partially embedded in the battery cover with a connector to the inside of the phone. Didn't the Palm Pre do something like that?

  9. eve5y6e3.jpgCoverage is pretty bad in between Saginaw and Haslett off of Bond's Ranch. We're supposed to be covered, but it looks like the tower near Blue Mound Rd. and Haslett County Line Rd. may be having trouble. I've been trying to open a ticket with Sprint, and I might have finally been successful.

Edit: Sorry about the huge screen shot. I uploaded from Tapatalk and couldn't figure out how to make it smaller.
