Are folks still experiencing screen issues with this phone? I'm either buying this for myself or waiting on the GS9+. No one has been talking about this phone much in recent months neither here nor in the media.  So seeking a little input.

well i got the device from sprint and it was locked, what's strange is that it got unlocked at some point when I paid it off. 

Just received my phone. Like the look and feel of it. Downloading update to 7.1.1 now. Need to contact Sprint and pay off the lease.
Has anyone found a good case and screen protector?

Just got my phone today guys......curious is the latest build update NMI81C? ............. that's what mine is at and at Sept 5th security patch?
I thought that latest update enabled scrolling with the fingerprint sensor that I've seen on some YT videos[emoji20] or has that particular update not hit the Essential phones that are bought from Sprint yet??

Your screen shot shows you're using 7.1.1 of TapaTalk. Is that right? I have been running 7.1.6 on my Galaxy S7 as well as my Pixel 2.

I still haven't ever been blocked. I use Tapatalk from several IP addresses using WiFi and LTE.

Are any of you guys that are getting blocked using ad blockers of any kind?

I just got blocked even with the avatar setting off

Hopefully it's not a one hit wonder, but if it does I can see why with how badly things got started off to unfortunately. Hopefully the company has enough financial reserves and/or investors to give it another try next year and revamp their business model?? Only time will tell though.....
That sux on the RF end hopefully things turn around RF wise! I don't necessarily have issues with my V20 RF but definitely don't want the Essential phone to be worse RF wise!!
Still this phone is a kickass deal with the coupon code for $299!! Almost all is forgiven at that price point.

I am only receiving 3G service in Grand View on North Star road on Northwest blvd I usually have a strong signal of all 3 variations of LTE and as I drive around testing I know the saying that the speed I'm getting is about one down when I finally get on to 4G. It seems like the power goes up-and-down on the tower because I will be able to receive it inside for a few moments and then it goes away again . I've been using signal Check pro.

No, it's the app.  Just because it may not effect other platforms, doesn't mean the problem is IP Board.  Other sites might not cache on CloudFront/AWS.  So they don't get blocked for endless bootloops caused by Tapatalk coding errors.  Also, Tapatalk writes different codes for different hosting platforms.  Tapatalk even admitted yesterday they had a coding problem that they haven't addressed for years and just kept building on top of the problem update after update.  
Originally Tapatalk denied and denied the problem for weeks.  Thankfully IP Board and AWS kept digging more and more and providing more information to prove to Tapatalk they were the culprit.  If they had just said, whatever, there'd be no resolution.  I'm grateful that IP Board has such great support.  Because Tapatalk was not even being close to helpful to solve the problem.  They flat out ignored my first two support tickets.  It wasn't until some of you started marking their app rating down did I finally start getting somewhere with them.

They have not acknowledged that there is a problem.  Despite me providing evidence.  They say it is because of IP Board.  Which IP Board disputes.  With the old app, it went away one day with one of the updates.  Only to come back again.  Hopefully it will get resolved in the next Tapatalk app release.  But I wouldn't hold your breath.

Well, finally joined the bandwagon after having the MXP for 2 years. Really considered the Moto X4 as I love Moto Actions and gestures but it couldn't go back to 1 speaker and smaller screen so it was time to leave Moto since Lenovo took over.
In terms of connectivity I am connected to LTE Band 25 while sitting in my office which the MXP would hardly connect to simply falling to 3G. Theres a MM Tower behind my office building, it seems B41 does not reach on the other side of my building (concrete walls building) I'm on the first floor, 2nd floor connects to B41 with no issues, unfortunately that tower is very congested. Nothing technical but all good so far.

Got mine in today...friend got two codes (two phone purchases originally) and figured I'd help him out by buying them off of him. He + his wife are using the phone on Verizon FWIW.
The phone is definitely heavier/boxier than my Pixel, but it has smaller H/W dimensions, which still astonishes me given the screen size. Build quality is solid. NFC works well as long as you realize it's near the bottom of the device.
...and I'm waiting on chat with Sprint now to get the darned thing activated. There's an on-device activation procedure but it's complaining about the SIM from my pixel not being compatible. Wish me luck, I guess.
Side note: it's a little disappointing for apps like Uber, which will normally take over the notification bar with their background, to not do so on the Essential. So you end up with the notch area being notifications on a black background. Not the worst thing ever, but could be better. Would also be kinda cool if Duo took over the notch while on a call, but maybe I'm asking for too much, given the low number of phones that apparently sold here.

Except you can’t transfer or backup / restore on android. Ecosystem is where Apple scores.

I’m pro Android and iOS so not bashing.

I've moved from Pixel XL to Pixel 2 XL.  I think the reception is worse than in Pixel 1 XL.  I've got very low reception in my condo, so my phone is usually parked on Band 26.  In rooms where I used to get calls, I see Pixel 2 XL with RSRP of -114 - 116.  In blunt terms, my phone doesn't always ring anymore.  In the meantime, still waiting for that magic box that we qualified for back in June. [emoji20]
