The Bolt will be half price for Black Friday...Yeah the wife wanted me to use an upgrade of one of our other lines to replace my current 10 so I could actually have a non broken screen. So looked this morning and was like wtf, no more 10? Makes sense though since best buy has been out of stock for Sprint for so long. Sucky sauce. The bolt is way to expensive for last years specs.

Still only 2 stores within 50 miles of 15010 have this phone...
-
I hope that involves the barely functioning towers near 15010...Sounds like they finally plan to upgrade all the GMO or legacy sites along the highways within a year

Some info about the tunnels as well a couple snippets about Sprint in particular...

Strange. Wi-Fi calling is missing, but the odd required sticker is in the box...

Well it's up for sale at Sprint.com. $624 or $21 on Easy Pay. I find it interesting that the Easy Pay amount ends up being more than $100 less than the full purchase amount, is that always the case? Can I purchase on Easy Pay, and then pay off the remaining balance all at once?
Anyone know if Uh Oh Protection is included with a carrier purchase, or only when from HTC directly?
The website shows a special offer: $120 credit with Easy Pay. That's the difference.
If I were an HTC investor, I'd be deeply concerned about their production capacity and the impact on profitability. Only two stores in a *50* mile radius of 15010 have even a single phone available today according to the website. And I'm stuck paying a higher sales tax because I have to cross state lines... Ah well... roadtrip!

Still random switches to Roaming on the Turnpike around Zelienople/Beaver Falls, especially at night. No clue what they could be doing... still an LTE-free zone.
Whatever is happening, it seems like handoffs are nearly impossible right now. Anyone with knowledge think of a reason?
-
Hopefully it is the start of GMO conversion. I probably won't be in that area until late Jan-Feb. Be sure to report it with the Sprint Zone app.
And let use know if you see LTE start expanding.

Spark branding is completely removed from the M9 as of marshmallow update. New boot animation, and normal signal indicator!

Just post to reddit. Just had a spot open up and it was filled within 24hrs.
I have no interest in using a reddit. What I do have interest in is referring people and how to instruct store employees who are often clueless about old plans.
For example, a store just told me that I can only add people to a Framily if they are added to my account which, if I understand correctly is false and an indefensible answer from an employee.

Is this true? How does it work? I just had spaces open up in my FramilyI believe you can still add brand new lines to Framily plans for non-existing customers. But, I've heard it must be done in-store. Reps usually don't mind because they get a cut for creating a new line.

Phone has been kicking over to roaming a LOT lately. Especially between Cranberry and Beaver Valley exits on the Turnpike. Is something up in the area?

If it is a Sprint device with a Sprint SIM inserted, I would be surprised if Rogers is both connected and usable. Somebody else can chime in -- because the apple cart has been totally upset in Canada now -- but Sprint historically roams on Bell and Telus, not Rogers.
AJ
That information is definitely not current.
Feel free to play along: http://support.sprint.com/support/international/roaming?INTNAV=ATG:HE:SPT:INTL_TRAV#!/

The website is defective and told me my M8 wasn't a qualified device and that I had to go to a store. Furthermore, if you don't know what a SKU, you can't work in a retail environment that uses them. Finally, the device launched on 3/27. Unacceptable and inexcusable.
-
On the first day that I could (first of month), I went in to my nearest Sprint store (preferred) to order for Direct Ship the new M9.
The process was horrible and long. Why? Sprint didn't put the SKU numbers in the Playbook. You need a SKU to order a phone in RMS. The associate made several calls to several support lines, which included receiving a bad SKU (missing final characters) and a woman who should be fired immediately for responding "What's a SKU?" I think he finally got someone in telesales that was able to give him the SKU number.
Clearly, cleanup still needs to occur in this company regarding customer service...

They stopped working before disappearing completely...Bringing this one back up. I was wondering if anyone else noticed that in the latest update of Sprint Zone 5.0.011 the Service Alerts seem to have disappeared. At least I don't see them anymore under Network. Does anyone else see the same or can confirm this?
-
They've started rolling in. Sent times showing when received by network and not initial send time
-
I'm not receiving SMS messages right now, unless I send myself a message. Seems to be off network messages are not showing up...
-
Precisely. The fee is for paper bills and/or not giving them your credit card. This makes perfect since since a customer is on ASL since they are unable to demonstrate the ability and willingness to pay on time. Sprint has an interest in giving an incentive to these customers to be in ebill and autopay.you can be on ASL without the charge (free);
- enroll in ebill
- enroll in automatic payments (either to your checking account, or a credit card).
BTW, automatic payments to a credit card are pretty awesome.
You never have to worry about a late or missed payment.
If you have a credit card that gives you points, you get extra points every month from charging and paying your phone bill(s).
A customer with poor credit is given two options: make Sprint able to take the money directly or pay more (to cover the risk). That seems very fair.

Anyone reverse interested in reverse engineering how it gets the network information? The version baked in to M8 update was able to tell you what tower specifically was having issues.
-
I noticed as I was driving into work today that the antenna panels on the Fort Pitt inbound site are gone. I wonder if the site has been deactivated.
Those sites haven't been touched/upgraded at all, right? I'm convinced they were causing massive dropped call problems...
-
Weird... I'm not putting a sticker on my phone...
-
Guess I can uninstall the Sprintzone app again. Reverse engineering is fun...
http://zone.sprint.com/servicetrender/getstatus?mdn= (phone number goes at the end with no dashes)
A humble request for more reverse engineering digiblur!
Edit: I've tried capturing packets, but nothing via HTTP... http://zone.sprint.com/zone4/versions/versions.jsp?make=HTC&model=831C&swVer=KTU84P+release-keys&prlVer=51102 is the only URL I found...
-
Digiblur did the reverse engineering last time to get that URL...It's not from the service trender site on zone.sprint.com, that's for sure.
