Here's a screenshot from earlier today. I was running in LTE only mode.

Robert what is the name of that app you are using for testing?

Five sites just went live in Puerto Rico. This is probably one of the new ones.

Robert, do you have the details of this sites? Where are they located?

Super good LTE signal this morning inside Caribbean Cinemas in Plaza Las Americas while watching Iron Man 3 this morning. Also my AT&T phone was unusable data.

You can get LTE in the Puerta de Tierra area but not the "city". I know there are two sites because I saw the constructions permits signs in the Marshall's building last November and I believe the other is near the Sheraton.
Those two site in Old San Juan are one of the three or four in PR that they have not been able to work on due to permits and it being on a historical area and some more blah blah blah.

megabytes,

What is your opinion of T-Mobile
It's difficult to find a way to the describe it here in this market but I think the word that comes to mind is inconsistency. It's great in some places not only metro areas like others have said. But I believe when they finish shutting down their 2g here and concentrate on HSPA+ DC and LTE it will be great. Their monthly unlimited plans are amazing and include all you could want. Sprint and T-Mobile will make a comeback at the end of 2013 and beginning of 2014. The reason I say inconsistent is because I can stand just in front of their main office in Rio Piedras and speed test (that for some reason never reflect real speed) and get 1mb, I move down to the highway and I can get 10mb. In most areas they provide a consistent 3 to 5 mb also voice quality is much better than AT&T based on clarity.

I have not seen LTE speeds on att that I would describe as bad. I do agree that they are more congested but even in those cases I can still get a reasonable speed test. The worst att offers is still better then sprint 3g speeds. What amazes me in recent testing is that sprint really does have good coverage. In some cases better then att. The cases at the margin like deep in a building in Santurce or in the back of supermarket X Att seems to always work while sprint is a wild card. Is this because they have more towers or is it the lower frequency of att? My gut is that it is a frequency issue. Out off curiosity when and where have your seen att speeds collapse because of congestion?

That type of situation you describe is because of AT&T using lower 700mhz LTE AND 850mhz voice.

Saw something like this on the highway and had no LTE when I checked. Having said that tower completion is still moving along nicely in the metro area. I get the feeling that the number of crews has been reduced recently.

I noticed that two but 3G speeds on that area are over 1.5 Mbps not a lot but consistent and better than before.

Yep, I know. I guess im lucky that my company service provider is att. So right know i have the best of both worlds.

I currently carry AT&T, T-Mobile & Sprint, and maybe deep deep in some areas of the center of the island AT&T is better but around the big metro areas it's LTE is almost unusable I have seen speeds as low as .10 on LTE their network congestion is getting worse by the day It reminds me of back in the days of the iPhone 3GS and its congested network.

So, that part between Palmas del Mar and Yabucoa via 53 highway is complete. I think that was the only part was missing LTE.
Most of Ceiba, Luquillo, Rio Grande & Canovanas has no LTE
-
nice!.........not common for AT&T but still
-
I think that's wishful thinking at this point, last time somebody informed me LTE was at 65% 2 weeks ago.
-
I ask because a girlfriend that lives in Rio grande just told me she has been roaming since yesterday and she usually gets 3bars inside her house. But since yesterday she has been on roaming if she turns off roaming the phone says no service.

Does anybody know if this network crews work on Sundays here in Puerto Rico??

I get all this, but I went to a Sprint store and confirmed my suspicion I have a defective unit. All iPhones and Android hit well over 12mb and I only got 4mb

First, 39Mbps is pretty much impossible. Due to the setup of Sprint's LTE network, the theoretical max speed is 37.5Mbps.
There are many reasons you could be seeing the differences in speeds. Different locations, different signal strengths, different speed test servers, network errors....
In order to determine that you are in fact only seeing those speeds on the iPhone, you need to be in the same place, with similar signal strengths, and connected to the same speed test server
And besides I have been following the LTE network here since day 1 and never we're my speeds so low until I started using the iPhone 5. Last week I was standing with a friend and she got 27mb and I didn't get past 5. That's why I am asking what speeds are people with iPhone 5 are getting.

I have been in the same places, and its not impossible a lot of members here have gotten similar speeds.

Can you guys and gal's please tell me what speeds are you getting with your iPhone 5's in PR? I want to see if I have a deffective unit. With my Android i got speeds up to 39MB and with my iPhone the most I have gotten is 5mb. Please let me know.

Is there any LTE coverage in Universal Studios??
-
nah, we're gonna be the first 100% market 'cause it's a tiny market with less than 250 sites
but yeah, extremely lucky to be so ahead in the rollout
266 to be exact!

AT&T's coverage is good in the center of the island (sort of), I carry two phones daily one AT&T and the other Sprint and I must tell you I mostly forward my calls to the sprint phone. AT&T's LTE in some areas is starting to be completely useless. I was in a meeting in Caguas the other day and AT&T LTE got me 0.87 (full bars) Mbps where Sprint in the same area had full bars 3G and 1 bar LTE and got 4mbps.

They ran into San Juan to get things up and running to launch. They'll probably get back to the NE Coast in a few weeks. They may finish the market in the next month.

So we may have 100% LTE by the end of April?

Why does 3G get better signal penetration than LTE? Why can I stand in one place and get 4 or 5 bars of 3G but only 1 or 2 of LTE?? If its the same frequency an location why is it weaker? I have the same problem with TMO and Sprint.
