  1. They should get rid of the overages and activation fees. That are two of the things making them anti consumers. For over a year he has been throwing a bunch of plans to the wall trying to see which ones stick on it. Sprint main problem has been the network and trying to act like the Twin bells with overages and activation fees.

You can do those things when you are in a position of strength not when you are struggling.

All new plans and new cybih have no overages. I agree on the act fees.

  3. So you just pick the plan you want based on the other carrier's current offerings, and Sprint slashes that in half, and you don't have to go to respective carrier to switch to that plan first? That sounds like a decent deal. Now to find people who I can get to switch. I still have $400 in referral rewards I can earn this year.

You have to port in 1 line from that carrier. But you can add lines with out porting and we cut the access fee in half for the added line.

Also includes unlimited 2g which old cybih did not.

  4. Im not going to read through all the pages but i wanted to set the record straight. This isnt like old cut in half. Now if you switch from tmobile you can pick any of their current plans and we will cut it in half. It doesnt matter what you currently are on.

Same goes for att/verizon. Pick any of their plans and we give 50% off.

  5. They told employees customers can order tomorrow and start recieving 11/23. Also only top 200 corp stores will stock. Rest will have to direct ship. Its ~$36 a month on easy pay after $200 down because its a 128gb model.

  6. And now Sprint is announcing new plans this week. Wonder what this entails...

No idea what the new plans are but we launch Rent To Own through Progressive friday for people that sprint will not allow to finance devices on easy pay or lease. Im not a fan because i know RTO is usually a scam but i guess its some peoples only option.

  7. I just picked up the new Galaxy Tab E 8inch in the other day. I love it so far but i found some intresting things in the hodden menus.

    1. It has CA listed but disabled. I used the msl to to turn it on but havent had a chance to go to some of the CA towers near by to test. Im not even sure if its a CA device but it has the menu so it must be right?

    2. It has lte roaming on bands 2,4,12 listed on the priority page but then lte roaming is disabled. I turned it on with the msl but not sure how to test these bands.

If i use the msl to to turn on these features

  8. Hum, I assume these plans will replace family share. Do existing family share users get moved over to these plans? I have a pretty good deal right now but not running the risk of overages is always attractive since my wife burned through ~9 GB of data in 2 days when we were traveling.

I reached out to ask about this and didn't get good news. These plans are a new Soc code, so anyone on family share currently or cut you bill in half is held to the terms they agreed to on those plans. If current customers want the unlimited 2g they must switch to the new plan and will loose specials like waived access fees or their CYBIH price.

  9. He works for Sprint.

We were told on 10/15 family share plans were expiring 10/22 and 10/23 new plans would launch. Then they pushed it til 10/30 but sent a poster which gives a hint of what is to come and told us not to display until 10/30. The poster list unlimited data with 1gb high speed for just $20 and unlimited talk and text for $20. In the small print it says data limited to 2g speeds after 1gb and never worry about overages again.

  10. I wasn't really referring to smartphones, just the plan.

I should've added this notice before, but I was specifically thinking of Verizon's and AT&T's old family plans, even when it was Cingular. I believe they were called the Cingular Family Nation plans.

Technically add a lines are just $15 right now because thats the access cost to add to a family plan.

  11. In terms of price, you are absolutely correct. Sprint's $70 monthly and T-Mobile's $80 monthly are a much better deal than Verizon's $110 monthly, especially since that particular Verizon plan isn't available anymore. Although, for those who have the Verizon plan, despite the extra cost, is a better deal in most cases, except for where T-Mobile and/or Sprint match Verizon's coverage. If someone travels alot though, Verizon still is a better deal.

On the tired data side, I'm particularly interested in how Verizon did end up competing in price, despite their saying they wouldn't. In many ways they are a better deal than AT&T, and a better deal than T-Mobile and Sprint on the single line addition. However, T-Mobile and Sprint still are much better deals than Verizon is on anything over one line.

Mark my words sprint will go to all plans being unlimited 2g data with throttling after your high speed bucket runs out.

  12. This was posted in a reddit thread by an employee in the returns dept. These are the guys you want to talk to. They helped me out.

And I agree, this process has not been smooth. I had an over $600 balance on my bill before I even got the return kit. Everything is good now and that dept helped out.

While agree the give back system has been rough for people that mail its a breeze in store where we sign off on the trade in. Ive seen no problems so..... tldr support your local stores

  13. I think a lot of the negativity comes from the C class Moody's rating. The Moody's people are not biased at all when issuing their ratings. That's a big part of the issues. I know this might be a contrarian point here, but improved network performance doesn't necessarily mean that Sprint will improve their financials.

Trying to improve financials and improve the network at the same time is going to be really difficult. I don't want to be Mr. Negative but if Sprint could improve both that would be unprecedented.

I also can confirm its in the info about the new plan on our internal system.

Thanks. Just needed the confirmation. This is great for those that need tethering.

  14. At this point, it simply makes sense for Softbank to purchase the remainder of Sprint that they do not yet already own. Steps to immediately follow to significantly cut operating costs would include:

    • Closure of the Direct2You program
    • Closure of "SprintShacks" (at least the Sprint portion) - what I'm hearing from several "Shack" managers is that they're just not bringing in any Sprint business
    • Less lenient customer service approach - I was in a corporate store the other day while a ghetto Sprint customer berated the staff and other waiting customers for over an hour while he waited...come to find out, all because he quit paying his bill and Sprint shut off his service. ENOUGH! Not every customer is a good customer and Sprint needs to start adopting policies that drive these customers away. They take up too much time and actually contribute to a negative brand image. This guy was on the phone with Sprint Care when I left - tying up yet another Sprint channel. IMHO, his account should be cut off permanently and he should not be approved for another postpaid account.
    • Rename Sprint to Softbank USA and be done with it - the brand is beyond salvaging.

I think the new CFO gets all of this, and much more...in fact, I think that's what's driving the $2 - $2.5 bil reduction in OE - I can't say it enough, that's the greatest move they've ever made (if it comes to fruition).

At this point, Sprint needs to spend more on network development and marketing - that's it. They just don't have money to spare on other things until they are once again (CONSISTENTLY) cash-flow positive! I'm excited that their current management team understands this. Lastly, they cannot be afraid to fire retail-level and CS staff if performance is not up to par...this is vital.

While your sprint shack comments are true to some extent its not true everywhere. The indy shack market finishes 1 or 2 every month in the country with 2-300% of our activation goal. Ive never made so much commission at sprint before this. Also many under performing shacks are staffed by third parties which sprint is kicking out starting Nov 1st and switching to corp run. There are at least 10 in indiana this happening to that i know of.

  15. Not according to the Sprint people I have talked to.

I promise you if you sign a lease it voids out your current contract and you are eligible for that plan. The only thing is you have to be eligible to upgrade via lease which most account in good standing and like 10 months into a contarct are eligible because sprint wants to get people off contacrts and on to lease.

  16. You would get a $15 service credit as long as you stayed on your legacy plan. Making the phone $3 per month.

Or switch to the $60 plan + $18 and lease it for -$2 compared to your current bill.

Same here. So, if I want a GS6 for example, it would be my regular contract plan price ($80) plus the lease payment for a GS6 ($18).

Now, if I could lease it for free, I'd jump on that!

  17. Yes once you terminate the lease it will make you eligible for an upgrade. Customer care has to send an escalations ticket and the upgrade eligibility should reflect within 24 hours.

For the apple upgrade program, I will only be financing the device correct? Will I need to activate the iPhone at the POS? I have an employee plan through sprint and the only way I can purchase phones is buying them outright. Also I have to go through Sprint employee accounts to activate my device...

I just don't want to make the trip to Apple if they can't help me since they won't have access to my sprint account

Id be shocked if you could get the iphone on employee account at launch. EWD and SWAC both are blocked from having iphone 6s.
