  1. Hey Tim is there a thread on the forum to learn about SMR 800, and creating custom PRLs to "try" to connect to the most desirable towers? I understand if this is stuff for the Sponsor onmy section. Trying to get informed quickly. - - NeRD
  2. Whoa I didn't notice this thread covers more than Sacramento. Gas tank is filled up and ready for mapping tonight. @lilotimz: do your maps show mapped area the public section doesn't see? I sorta like finding towers on my own but I'll pay to play in the Sac area. (= - - NeRD
  3. So when I shared my map results, am I breaking or violating forum rules by making that info available to the free members? I don't mind play ghost hunters at night. I noticed one of the photos in my post the other day was redacted. I understand if I posted a sponsor only photo to the forum. At least tell me what I can't post in the free area. I'm gunning for 300 miles tonight. - - NeRD
  4. We are going to connect Sacramento to Yuba in no time. I finally maintained LTE from Elkhorn all the way down to truxel/80 but Sensorly crashed during a speed test and didn't map that leg of my trip this time. I'll get it right tonight. I'm getting tired of Natomas. Anyone have verifiable LTE in Sacramento in an area that hasn't been mapped yet? NeRD wants to map. - - NeRD
  5. I don't recall asking for a paid membership. If I wanted it, I would pay for it. 270 miles mapped since last night. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk
  6. 107 miles of mapping and now I'm waiting for AAA Roadside service to bring me gasoline. I mapped an entire neighborhood on El Centro/Del Paso, and thought I'd follow garden highway until I discovered 3rd service. Then blasted east and found another LTE tower just north of the Elkhorn tower, but not before I found lots of roads around the airport to canvass. Circling around Pleasant Grove Road, the car ran dry right st Rielgo before I could map north Natoma on the way home. At least we have LTE service where I'm stranded (Rielgo/Pleasant Grove). Can't afford the sponsorship level membership because I do this every night. 15 bucks didnt get me far tonight. Hehehe. I hope tonight's efforts help you all!
  7. Ah. I was wondering why the app crashed while mapping. I ran the speed tests that often so everyone would get a sense of the quality of service. I'm going back out this evening to map several neighborhoods in North Natomas. I do 60+Mbps in Roseville by Denios. I will return to thst area to map it now that I can map properly. I PROMISE not to go gangbusters on the speed tests (= - - NeRD
  8. Yes, mine. Is that cheating? I was doing .30mbps before the KitKat & PRL updates last night. It's an improvement to us at home. - - NeRD
  9. Ah there, learned how to upload multiple pics in one post. Sorry, technically a noob still. Did a quick lap around the airport & back home while en route to pick up a pizza for son at the little Ceasars in South Natomas, where I live (^o^) A bit excited to get some mapping done? Hehehe. Bottom two screenshots are at home on 3G, where I am a qtr mile from LTE coverage darnit! - - NeRD
  10. Did some mapping today for the first time. I'm using a Note 2 SPH-L900 on the new KitKat OTA ROM on PRL 2019. I mapped several times last week but I was on CM11 4.4.3 with a wonky GPS and it wasn't reporting to the server. Today everything went smooth on the Sprint ROM. The Del Paso, Elkhorn, and Schoolhouse Road towers are pumping out 35+Mbps at night. Today it was kinda slow, 28—29Mbps - - NeRD
  11. I'm on PRL 51097 in Sacramento. My iPhone 5 is jailbroken and I temporarily switch to Verizon PRLs often for the few hundred megs of fast 3G service I can use per month :/ Which PRL should I use for 800 testing? I am excited to do this!
  12. I will definitely be paying all the money for three tri-band phones. One of our three lines is upgrade eligible, ill just fork out the MSRP on the other two lines to keep up with NV. I hope the Note 3 & the next iPhones are both 3-band!!!
  13. I received TWO of the newer Airaves free. The first time was for our apartment. It wasn't difficult to get that one free, just one mention of switching carriers did the trick with 1st level customer service w/supervisor approval. When it came to getting the 2nd one for my office at work, Customer Service was adamant about billing me for the 2nd one, and Retentions initially called my bluff when I firmly told them I'd shut off all three of our lines & begin service with another carrier. They said "Oh sure, i am happy to take care of that today. Do you understand there will be a $350 ETF for each line you are disconnecting? And do you understand you may not enjoy the benefit of unlimited data with another major carrier?" I said "yep, I'd like to pay all that right now over the phone, and turn the service off during this call. Sprint can keep these phone numbers, too". My 2nd Airave arrived two days later, free of charge, and I don't pay a monthly fee for the usage either :/ In Roseville, I am enjoying near 30Mbps down speeds. In West Sacramento, 20-ish down speeds. I tried to upload a photo of my speed test results but Tapatalk is asking me to register a new account for photo sharing when I'm already logged into my S4GRU account. Sad face. Also, 3G service on Northrop between Watt & Howe, all the way to Howe & Hwy 50 was dead between 9-930 tonight while I was visiting a friend. Solid 5-bars for voice but I couldn't even get a ping in the Speed Test app. Might be good news for that area of town. Lastly, I can do some Sensorly mapping, site surveying w/photo intel & pull permits from the local cities around Sacramento beginning Monday if anyone would like. ONLY if y'all want the intel. Otherwise I'm happy to watch movies all day on Monday If I can help out in any way, please share or PM me the detailed info y'all would like, and I'll begin first thing Monday morning. I'd like to start canvassing entire sections of town since Sensory only shows LTE service on major arteries of town & not the neighborhoods. It'd be nice to see larger sections of Sac & surrounding communities painted purple in Sensorly! End of rant :/
  14. I picked up LTE on the I5/El Camino northbound all the way around to 80/Truxel eastbound yesterday, in Natomas. By the time I got to Northgate (1 exit to the east), I dropped back to 3G. Sad face
  15. I did a few searches and couldn't figure it out. How do I map? I'm in Sacramento, CA and LTE seems to be live on the West Side freeway and in West Sacramento. When the Sensorly app & my device's GPS is on, is it automatically mapping? If so, I'm happy to spend an entire day canvassing entire neighborhoods & segments of town with LTE service. (= Thanks in advance for any help I can get. I can also pull permit records in the neighboring communities if the admins would like me to. I have a lot of free time on my hands over the coming weeks.
  16. Thanks for making this site. I get paid in a couple days and will donate the $100 or whatever it takes to level up to Prestige status. I cannot wait for LTE to go live in Sacramento and surrounding communities! The information provided on this site is invaluable to me and my family. Three LTE phones on sluggish 3G service but we're loyal to Sprint & waiting it out without whining. Thanks again! - - werd
