  1. I guess I've never experienced what you do with calls. I always hate when I call my sister who has vz in Burlington wi cuz it's almost hard to understand what she is saying but on the other hand my mom with Sprint its crystal clear now with he voice. Must have something to do with codec between carriers? Any who I was quite impressed with Sprint these past months if only the tower by my work would get lte and 800 voice. But 3g runs fast there so can't really complain.

Edit: How is lte in Racine? Pretty reliable? I've went out there a couple times and it always seemed pretty good.

  2. I have to say it was leaps and bounds better then last year. Stayed in the wilderness just like every year moved around the Dell's a bit too and didn't lose lte once the whole time I was there. and data was always more useable then the hotel WiFi. I don't know what happend this past year but the wilderness's WiFi has gone to hell. But where the WiFi failed Sprint picked up the slack.

  3. Under your terms, Sprint wouldn't have many postpaid customers.

It would also be different if it wasn't such a hassle to get rid of it. I had to call over a dozen times for it to get taken off then another 5 or 6 calls when it still showed up on my next bill.

  4. Hey just curious about sosomething with these single path devices. I had an s3 before my HTC one max and I used dual window a lot on lunch to watch YouTube and txt at the same time... I wondering if that's still possible with tri band phones. Have an upgrade soon and just lookin at my options.

  5. Sprint seriously needs to reorganize their schedule for network optimization. My girlfriend lives by two cell sites that have been completed with support for all three bands for months now, and she still only gets 3G in her house. If I go to the living room and do a PRL update though, I can grab 2 bars of band 25. Band 26's range is so bad, makes me wonder why they turned it on since its basically unusable.

Maybe cuz even without the extra coverage it still give more capacity. Adds twice the capacity if there is just b25 in the area.

  6. You are missing the point. Cable sells service based on speed. Cell companies sell service based on gb used. Those are two different things. It's not that you are cheap or anyone who gets limited data plan is cheap. It is a choice the consumer made. Why can't a company show you what you would get if you had a 3gb plan or higher and also provide ways you can test for what you currently get because you decided to get the 1gb plan?

So then a user on t mobile (being throttled) wouldn't know it unless they checked their account. And wondering why does it say 20mbs when I can't even watch YouTube! Kinda makes em look bad too. If you ask me.

  7. I love how -101dbm is 3 bars on your phone. On my M8, that's 1 bar. I feel like Sprint should try to fix that on the M8. -101dbm is still a relatively strong signal but having 1 bar is a psychological thing for many people.

I know the feeling on my HTC one max i swear I rarely have more then one bar. And even on b25 with one bar in my unloaded town I get 15megs and up sometimes anything above wat seems like -95 dBm is one bar. Which is just weird it doesn't make sense.

Edit: and on a side note it's kinda funny when my mom goes to make a call with 1 bar and then it jumps to full and she gets all confused. "Why do I always have 1 bar when not using my phone and full bars when I call"

  8. Tri band devices must be going out in full steam. Last time I went to six flags b26 was buzzing at 3-6 mbs, depending on where in the park. This time it was usable in the morning but as the day went on it become unusable. But 3g was just fine. They need a tower closer to six flags so b41/b25 will reach the whole park. And btw worst trip to six flags waited in line 2 and a half hours for goliath just for it to break down. I was not a happy camper. Haha

  9. That's weird, I was just out there yesterday. On hwy W just east of 113 right? I had a very good connection around there. In fact all around town I noticed much a much better B26 signal.

My phone seems to be allergic to b26 sometimes. It will prefer a strong 3g signal almost every time. Even if the b26 I get is very usable. I don't get it. Haha

  10. THAT IS SOOO COOL!!!!! He has a coolness factor just below that of a nascar truck driver! Anyhow, I would think that they would track him and have two way communications via satellite. If not then he needs to take a look at the coverage maps where he frequents. My guess is he will have to switch to one of the big three.

Yea it is pretty cool. Only downside is now he is home 2-3 nights a week. Soon he will be gone for 12 days home for 3 gone for another 12. And when my sister graduates he Will be gone for 3 weeks at a time but then he can bring my step mom along. I'm going to recommend they switch to a more national carrier. Because he Will be out of us cell coverage quite a bit.

  11. Not trying to be nosy. Just trying to understand his needs. Is he being loaded through a company like landstar or is he lease/owner operator with a traditional truck company?

Well he is an owner operator at a traditional trucking company now. But now with his new job he will be from what I understand he will be working directly for Harley Davidson. Delivering bikes across the country to dealerships. So he will own his own truck but drive for Harley.

  12. Well thanks for all the responses and I know this should be in a completely different thread all together but okay he has decided to go with a tab from us cellular and get a bluetooth keyboard. Now my question is my dad goes a cross the country but before data didn't matter because he never used it. But now since he will and us cell doesn't have coverage a cross the US how is us's roaming set up? I know in Chicago my little sister gets roaming evdo I'm guessing from Sprint? Just a question on how he's data experience will be in none native areas. Because with this new job data is a must, so just curious I know evdo would do just fine for him, but in the long run would it be better for him to jump to Sprint/att/ Verizon?
