  1. If you are using that old 15 radio then you will need to upgrade it.

I also saw this same thing on dead LTE sites or when LTE was very marginal.

My phone is stock with the latest radio. A sprint tech couldn't fix it over the phone. I eventually hard reset it but it still doesn't work.

  2. My phone will not ring when connected to LTE. It will only ring when it's on 3g. If I place it on LTE or global I get nothing but 3g only works fine. My wife's phone works fine most of the time but mine won't work at all. Anybody have any idea what is causeing this?

  3. It's possible to connect to both B26 and B41 on the stock radio, however it is VERY hit and miss. Most people see better results on the .15 radio, but that doesn't mean it's the only one that works.

Cool I did not know that. I only noticed because I had a stronger LTE signal than usual so I checked.

  4. Just noticed I'm connected to B41. I am completely stock, no root or custom recovery. Most current stock radio. All I have done is enable the bands. I did not realize this was possible with the stock radio.

  5. I had this happen for a while too. But it stopped right around the time Google added the Google Now Launcher to the Play Store. Maybe uninstalling and re-installing updates to the launcher would fix it?

I'll give that a try. Its not that big a deal, just a little annoying.

  6. Does it happen after installing an app? Mine does that, too. Just move an app to the blank screen, then delete it. I think it's a bug.

That worked thx. I did add an app but several hours ago. And I didn't really pay attention to see if I had the screen then or not. I'll try it out.

Does anybody know why it keeps adding a blank screen? I can't figure out why it does this. The only way I know how to get rid of it is to restart the phone.

  8. What are you guys using for a camera app? The big capture button at the bottom of the screen has ruined it for me.

The Google camera app. I don't know what the big deal is over a larger shutter button. Its extremely functional. The camera app is supposed to help you take great pictures and this does it.

  9. Thanks guys, I recognize that its not greener on the other side either when it comes to CS, this stems from years of shitty sprint service and issues. At least Ver/att will give me better service and minimize the amount of time i need to speak to CS rep.

BTW my latest issue is whenever I travel whcih has been quite a bit lately my LTE with S3 blows...for example in louisville ky it shows LTE signal but i will get .2 mbps download, i can't use a gps app. Same goes for Tulsa Austin Chicago Atlanta(Suburbs.) The only time my lte is good is if i'm in teh chicago suburbs.

So when I vent, its this crap that does it.

I asked a similar question in the network forums. I think Robert said something along the lines that the 1900 MHz spectrum is over saturated but that spark is expected to fix that.

    Thx I'll check it out.

Lol I can't believe I never noticed that. I was looking all over the dialer app for that option.

  11. It will not improve anytime a soon for single band LTE devices. You will need a Triband device with Band 26 and Band 41 to get faster speeds. Band 25 airlink is overloading. It is not backhaul. But Triband devices have access to tons more capacity.

B41 is already working on many San Antonio area sites. And B26 deployment will start soon. It appears you have an N5. So you just need to wait for the update. Although, you may be able to force it to run on the existing B41 sites if you flash the .15 radio. You can read more about that in our N5 thread.

Thx, I have not unlocked and I don't feel like re-setting up my phone so looks like I'll be waiting for the update :)

These are normal LTE speeds for me in Northwest/west San Antonio. None of the speeds shown had an LTE signal strength less than -85. And if I fall back to 3g, forget about it. Does anybody know what kind of issues we could be dealing with with these speeds? Backhaul, 1900mhz spectrum being saturated possibly?

I should add that I kept changing servers in an attempt to get better results, but it ended up making them worse.

  13. Anyone utilizing SPARK in San Antonio yet? I am patiently waiting with a NeXus 5, but don't know if I want an irritating constantly spinning icon. Any LG G2 people using it? I know one person with a G2 and she had no clue about it. She updated and really hasn't seen much difference yet. She hates the icon though.

    Mike

Don't think the nexus will be contaminated with that garbage spark icon.

  14. It is apparently a Nexus 5 firmware imposed limitation with Sprint SIMs. It does not affect other providers.

My suggestion is to deal with it. SMS is Short Message Service. It is not Long Message Service. If you need greater than 160 characters, use good writing and logic to split the messages yourself.

Split then concatenated SMS are ridiculous. So, I am glad that this unnecessary limitation exists. It may cause people to wake up and use SMS more appropriately.

    AJ

Wife's stepmom needs this. She will send a 5000 word text message. It gets all split up and gets sent out of order, impossible to read. Im happy to see this.
