It all comes down to what you like, everyone has different taste and priority. HTC tends to have better reception than the samsung phones, but samsung addressed the reception issue really well on the galaxy s3. In terms of reception in Boston, I am from boston too, and am suffering from the slow (15-100 Kbps) network speed in boston. But this will improve as NV upgrade expand more in the area. For example, right near South Station area, I average 1.3Mbps to 2Mbps speed. They just started implementing LTE sites in Boston market, and some are in the testing phase, heard that burlington mall site was on and off, as well as the site in lynn as well. as far as choosing a phone, totally up to you, both phones are great, and they both will benefit from the future LTE rollout. it will be a phone that you will use for couple of years, pick the one you want, based on your preferences.

Yeah, my work iphone sees it fine, and can connect to it. but for some reason GS3 doesnt see it. Sorry about that, didnt mean to go off on a tangent.

I know this if off-topic, but my GS3 does not see 5GHz SIDs. I have a friend who has 5GHz router, and he broadcasts two SIDs, "abc" and "abc-5GHz", I was able to see and connect to abc, but phone doesn't even see 'abc-5GHz'

you are mixing 802.11n 5 GHz (WIFI) with LTE. 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz are both different freq of 802.11n, this has nothing to do with LTE. Sprint's LTE will get built out using 1900MHz, but it will deploy 800MHz once iDEN dies down.

I wish I could be as lucky as fever02. When I check the map for WiMax coverage, it show me as being within the coverage area, although I am on the edge of cutoff. But I can't not get any 4g signal. I am glad to hear that they started working on Boston, but at the same time kind of sad that they are doing a lot more work on the outskirts of boston rather than the city of boston itself. Just placed an order over the phone last night, a white and a blue, I asked the rep when can I expect shippment of the phone, he replied, retail launch date is 21st, which we already know. But towards the end of the call, when he was confirming the order, he said, "Expect to recived the package on or before June 19th." I really hope this guy knew what he was saying. CANT WAIT!!

This is kind of expected reponse from people at this event. Come on, its a Samsung/Sprint event, and you were talking to Samsung rep. Of course they will try to talk-down on compeitor's features. Just like what HTC is trying to do with training their employees how One series are bettter than Galaxy S3. As far as the games/points go. Musical chair was flat out stupid, at one point, a person fell off the chair because "the guy" decided that he could throw him off and take the chair. I think they did a good job of calling it a tie. To add to the review: I really liked TecTiles. A little chipped sticker you could put on anywhere you want and program it to tasks you program to it. For example, you can program a tile to turn on bluetooth, and turn on the car-mode when the phone recognizes that tile, and you can place the sticker/tile on your car dock. now whenever you put your phone on the dock, it will turn on bluetooth and car-mode. This is just one example, you can do a lot more with this thing, setup alarm, send text, etc. As I have said in the previous post, this was a well planned event. Just to add, the rep told me they were doing 4 events in boston. They did two yesterday, one before 6-8, for internal people(im guessing sprint people), and they are having two more today, but of course for VIP, non-public event.

I wouldn't know how much better HD voice is, because I dont have an EVO LTE. But for last 13 years, I've actually never had any issue with voice quality on sprint devices/network. I use verizon for work, and their devices/network needs help. they sound muffled, distant, etc. my average speed test is 300-500, with best being ~650 in boston. I would be happy with 1Mbps +

I was at the event tonight as well. I have to say, it was a nicely done event. Got a lot of hands on time with the device. They did not have any blue on the floor, and one of the samsung peronnel confirmed that there is a shortage with the blue right now. As far as turning on 4G, in settings there is a option for you to pick either CDMA or CDMA/LTE. I wanted to try it, but it asked for a reboot, and theh rep was right next to me, so I was not able to. I am hoping that Boston will get LTE soon. Something must be happening within Boston, because speedtest in downtown, south end area is horrible, I am hoping that this means a work is in progress.
