  1. Saying that New York City is T-Mobile's "flagship market" is a reasonable conclusion. After all, Omnipoint was awarded the New York MTA PCS A block license as a Pioneer's Preference even prior to the first FCC auction in 1994-1995. So, no other market has a longer history of T-Mobile presence and site establishment.

Now, as for which is Sprint's "flagship market," that is certainly debatable. Based on recent spectrum acquisitions and deployment, Chicago would have to be in the running. But Kansas City would enter the conversation, too.

I thought at one time, maybe 2002-2005 NYC was a sprint flagship market?

  2. I wonder if they will just hire somebody barely competent to deliver a phone or if they will try to hire somebody bright enough to turn on the phone and show somebody how to use it.

I would think somebody competent especially because you're going to someone's home, you don't want to look like an idiot especially in someone else's home.

  3. Has anyone done a Wifi call to Wifi call yet? Is the quality any better than HD Voice? (Couldn't be much, HD Voice is already great)

The call connection is pretty much instant. Voice quality is pretty decent.

  4. Sprint has to get your attention somehow. For a while, most people wouldn't pay attention to Sprint's commercials or name, even if it were the most high class/high production ad in the country. Seeing as though Sprint is recovery mode now, they have to pull silly commercials like this in order to get their name stuck in your head. Now, every time you hear that song, or it even pops up in your head, you'll remember that you heard it in a Sprint ad. That's how it's supposed to work.

True, I see what you're saying and you're right. At the same time, they have been doing silly ads for quite sometime now, including the Framily commercials. I really think if they switched it to the style that Verizon is doing or even tmo... It might have the same positive effect without being so silly to gain attention.

  5. guess we'll see if this works. I don't personally like it though and will fast forward through it. What I don't get is that when you see a t-mobile or Verizon ad, it is classy and to the point. I used to even rewind the t-mobile commercials because I liked then. So far I am embarrassed to be a Sprint costumer with these ads. I am not supposed to be on a budget carrier and don't want my ads to come across like it. You don't have to scream or be stupid to get your point across. Trust customers like they have a brain and not like Twitter and they will still get the message.

I agree, I wish they didn't feel like a nick toons commercial for the next toy.

I think Verizon has the right idea on advertising.

  6. I possibly disagree. SoftBank should consider shuttering all Sprint stores in favor of increased traditional media marketing and online presence.

To illustrate, I have not bought a device at a Sprint store in over a decade, nor have I even set foot inside a Sprint store in over five years. I have no need for any Sprint stores.

I am sorry if I offend anyone, but wireless retail jobs are the dregs. They do not attract and cannot support highly skilled workers who represent Sprint well. Plus, maintaining nationwide physical retail operations costs a lot of money in wages and leases -- money that could arguably be better spent on marketing and CAPEX.

I agree and for the most part I am in the same boat, but what about the people who need tech support and repair on the devices in store?

  7. Reading the lease terms for the iPhone for life deal. It states : "Standards for Wear and Use: The following will be considered unreasonable or excess wear and use of the Goods: damaged, scratched or cracked housing or display; display or touchscreen malfunctions; cracked camera lens; damaged charger port; damage caused by exposure to liquid; corrosion or discoloration of any part of the Goods; damage to memory ports; hardware or software alterations; and any other malfunction, failure or damage caused by misuse or mistreatment of the Goods. Unreasonable or excess wear and use of the Goods may result in a charge to you upon return of the Goods."

So basically it seems it's not a good idea to use this device without a case and return in immaculate condition?

  8. I sold my iPhone 5S on eBay, carrier unlocked by Sprint for International use, for $600.

    $600.

Thanks, random Japanese guy. Thank you so, so much.

Yep, Sold my iPhone 5s for 350 within 24 hours. Sold my wife's 16GB 5s in 2 hours for 300.

The same as before, Sold my wife's and my 4s for 200 each. Sold within a day.  There is a huge market for used iPhones.
