  1. I am subscribed to certain topics and discussions, so when I receive an alert via tap a talk on my phone anytime there is a new comment. Honestly, I get a rush anytime I see a new alert show for this site on my phone.

This site is great, the forums are fantastic, so much good information, and no one is demeaning anyone for asking questions, like other forums on other sites I know of. (Phonescoop)

So needless to say.. yes.. I am addicted to this site! Glad I found it!

  2. Not theoretically. It uses either the same 5x5 carrier or a smaller 3x3 carrier depending on market, so nothing that could make it faster than band 25. What you could see is real world differences in speed based on a higher signal strength than the other band or less crowded than the other band at any given time.

Fantastic,  Thank you for clearing that up. Appreciate it. :)

  3. Just Mapped E-470 North of Quincy.

Was driving through Gun Club today and noticed LTE there for the first time. Surprised they started LTE there as there is literally nothing there except for a dump and a highway. Couldn't get a good speedtest as we drove by pretty fast outta there.

You know I have noticed looking at the sensory maps. It looks like they are upgrading towers over in the outskirts and rural areas of colorado first. Starting with smaller cities, gj, springs, castle rock, golden, and Idaho springs.

The only area in the metro area that seems to be lot up is Northglenn and parts of Thornton.

  4. Now I could live with that...I might have to break down and get an s2 even though I think samsung is the devil just so I can get some work done. Its gotten to where I cant even download attachments for work unless Im on wifi using my g2 or iphone.

I hear ya. I'm not going to lie, I had the EVO 4g WiMAX and though to myself... I kinda wish I still had it for the fact it was still 4G.

Unfortunately I do not have it anymore. Work and home have no LTE yet. So patience will resume on my end.

I hope the WiMAX works out for you. Might as well considering it's better than being on the legacy 3G network right now.

  5. That tower has been converted for a few months, I've never seen it lose LTE service since it went active though.  If you check out the sensorly (www.sensorly.com) map you can get a better idea of where the towers are active.

So question with the sensorly app. Does the app run in the background? Do I need to run the speeds test portion or is this all automatic in the background?

  6. You're a sponsor, go look at the maps of the CO/UT/ID market. They are really pretty accurate. I could tell you which tower is directly underneath the pin at that location.

What's with the hair hanging off the tower about 3/4 of the way up??

Yes sir, I sure did take a look, and it does show in progress.  As I saw the tower with cables hanging over, I am curious on the progress they have made. The picture I shared shows how the tower has looked for the last couple of weeks. I haven't seen anyone up there this week.

I am thinking they are waiting on moving some fiber optics or waiting on LTE equipment? I don't think I saw any up there in those pictures.

  7. Okay, so... another tower I drive by, on my way to work is at Highway 52 and I 25. I appears there is an upgrade being done to the tower. I am not sure if this is the Sprint tower or someone elses. There are two towers in this same location.

Last week, they had some guys up there with a crane, but they have not been back since Friday. There is week LTE in the area, but I believe that is further up north on I25 before the 119 exit.

I took some pictures on the way to work from the Car, I apologize, I tried to zoom in as close as I could.

  8. I located 4G LTE in Thornton, near Grant st and 100th. I decided one night to track down the tower, and I believe I did find it. The image was taken at night, so.. I do apologize for the quality, but I help it helps with the progress tracking.

I was averaging speeds between 11 Mbps down to 24 Mbps down. I had my brother with me, using his iPhone 4, he saw 3G speeds between 1.2 Mbps to 2 Mbps down. Not bad at all!

I am not sure if I could tell who owned the site, Samsung maybe?

I am using the iPhone 5s.
