  1. Well well well. It seems LTE has hit lodi!

And its hit pretty hard, Speeds are all over the place but never below 2 up or down.

Seems like I'm getting better speeds on east side/central lodi - 5-15 down and 2-5 up

and west side/woodbridge area is a tad slower 2-7 down 2-3 up

    pings are fantastic everywhere 60-80ms

I'm stoked to test out performance after the official go-live.

I haven't had a chance to test out stockton yet, I forgot my phone today. Will report in tomorrow.

  2. Any word on whats going with Stockton? I know Sacramento is being worked on, but man the past week or so has been terrible service for Stockton (more than usual).

Dropped calls, 0.1 - 0.2mpbs data speeds. Often time no data at all. Makes me wonder if they are working on something this week.

I'm seeing this around downtown and all across the crosstown and 99. In lodi as well. The area by Raley's is pretty speedy(for sprint, that is)

Really? Which area in Stockton ? I seen speed updates by the movie theaters and on march lane by in n out. I've been getting constant 3G speeds of 1mbps and higher in those areas.

Who knows when we'll get lte. I was told my march, then beginning of summer, and ending of summer. It's anyone guess but I'll be surprised to the extreme if I see any lte in Stockton by March when my contract is up.

+1 on this, march and i5 has been decent the past months.

  3. Yeah, couldn't do it now. I miss doing Plan-O-Gram though. I liked the set up and tear down.

My least favorite part. I was/am amazed at the sheer amount of research, planning, and coordination it takes to make PoGs though.

  4. Yesterday I got a glimpse of 4g at work downtown Sacramento, near 9th and L.  It was the first time I have seen a 4g signal at work.  It went away before I could get the speed test app open though and I haven't seen it since.

When I was up there last, I got blips of 4g as well. It was extremely spotty but very fast. My 3g speeds were the fastest I've seen on sprint, reminded me of verizon. For once my phone was actually useful! :P

  5. I just contacted my mangers and they told me I have to sell a phone before they'll approve my discount. I'm not sure what they have to do with the approval process, since i thought they were done through our rep..but I guess I'll have to wait to get my discount :(

  6. Awesome, thanks for the info!

cheap phones or not, I'm all about the cheaper plans. Will I be able to do this with an existing contract?

The 3rd-party employee plan for Sprint is $20/month, +$10 for the Premium Data Addon. You can add TEP for +$8/+11. My bill is $42.00 usually. That gives you unlimited Data, unlimited Text, unlimited Mobile-to-Mobile, and 3000 anytime minutes.

With the Sprint employee plan, there's no contract, but you also do not get normal upgrades. You do get access to a special store called Sprint Rewards Me, where you can earn bonus money. After being on it for 6 months, you can buy handsets at national 2-year pricing, once a year, off contract.

  7. Hello All,

Staples is becoming an authorized retailer for Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile. Our Verizon rep told us we'll get half off our bill now if we have them, but we haven't heard form the Sprint rep just yet. Does anyone know when kind of kickbacks sprint gives for being an authorized retailer?

  8. Yeah right there.

Have you noticed upgrades in 3G speeds?

I have, most days. they were pretty horrible the past couple weeks. In the last few days though, there have been great 3g speeds/pings.

Also, I'm not sure if its related but one of our clients was reporting internet connection issues here in stockton. They have (now had) clearwire service, and when we called them for more info they reported to us that the signal was so weak (1-2 bars) and slow because they turned off towers in our area. They were connecting via WiMax.

So, it sounds like the wimax towers are being shut down here! This is the first I've heard of that happening, but I've been slacking on keeping up with recent developments.

  9. Any chance these are Sprint's? Never seen them before there.

On the second pic on the lower corner of the building there are some small panels.

    Downtown Stockton today!

is that around weber and main? I work right around there and have a pretty good view of those from outside my office windows.
