  1. Awesome, I figured they would probably support the same bands due to the similar specs. I just don't like to assume things will be there.

It's the exact same SoC that was in the SGS3, so yes it does support 1X Advanced. Proof:

I've never checked that actual distance, I might do that tomorrow. It's to my north and serves most of the Hinckley area.

Good luck and let us know how it goes. How far is the closest lte site to you? My wife's palm pixi is falling apart.

  2. I'm technically a part of the Cleveland market. Home is in Hinckley (44233 WiMax signal stopped just a bit up the road from me) and frequented areas are Medina (44256) and Brunswick (44212). The video that came up on here a few months ago of techs working on a LTE tower was actually in Brunswick right next to I71. But my speed tests show that there hasn't been any fiber backhaul provided to the site. On another note, does anyone know if this phone supports 1XA 800? The spec sheet I saw a couple months ago only said Cellular 800.

What's your market? Damn i wanted to see how q10 performed in lte areas.

  3. Sorry it's taken me this long to reply, I never got an email notification. I got the standard free Sprint shipping online, which apparently is UPS Next Day Air Saver. I from the look of things got lucky and my device shipped right away, because of the holiday and long weekend it'll be here on Tuesday. I can't wait till I have it, now I just need NV to come to my area and I'll finally be good!

How long is delivery supposed to take?

  4. Well, SprintCare on Twitter said "Yes to 1X Advanced support." when I asked them about it... Which is better than nothing, but it's not like they're the most reliable source of information. Either way I'll be buying one, I really have no other alternative.

Yeah no kidding. My wife is still holding out. Holding on to her palm pixi for dear life. She could care less about 800 or 2600. She just wants a keyboard.

  5. I've actually had amazing experiences while dealing with the Radio Shacks in my area, it's actually where I originally signed up for Sprint. They most of the time have been more educated than Sprint stores, and from my experience for some reason it took Radio Shack a lot less time and hassle to port in my # than it did Sprint.

As for people worried about being forced to switch when they upgrade, I don't think it's time to start worrying about that just yet.

I will do that. Might be a week to a month before they sign up..
I thought about going to Walmart wireless store or radio shack and see what they say. Out of curiosity..

  6. Let me know what you find out when you go to sign them up.

Decent and honest Reps.. We all could wish.. I doubt my local store would offer them the old plans, some barely know their job that well..

I have a couple people interested in moving to Sprint and of course I'll make sure they know about the. "older" plans and to ask for them..

Not that It'll help much, I'll go in with them when they sign up, and I'll ask the Reps about It.

  7. Yeah, I've been with them about the same amount of time. This really wouldn't be that big of a deal if all the Reps were decent and honest... But that's not always the case. I know my closest store wouldn't recommend the older plans even if they saved the person money. As for not being normal I'll use one of my favorite quotes "I'm not drunk, I'm just psychotic..."

I see your point, Epic4G25.. There wouldn't be a way for possible new customers to know about the older plans unless they were sent there by someone from this forum or others that are aware of it..

Lol... Normal people? We're not normal?".. (I get what you're saying, though. Just thought it was a little humorous. :D )

I would try to walk into the store and try, but they already know who I am and that I've been with Sprint for a little over 3 years..

  8. Have you actually walked into a store and tried to get on one of the older plans? It's not people on this board I'm concerned about, it's normal people that may end up looking into Sprint. If the plans aren't advertised well and people don't know about them a careless Rep could simply direct people into the new plans, even if the old would fit them better. That's my issue with this.

Just because they're not on the website doesn't mean you can get them,  ASK FOR THEM... they still have them, and you want the either the Everything Data and Simply Everything plans their still able to sign you up for them, they just prefer you go with the "new" option, just because they'll "probably be pushing you toward the new plans".. Doesn't mean you still can't have the old.... PUSH BACK...

  9. Please, go ahead and show us where on the website you can still sign up for them. Because it isn't there, even if they are still offering it in store people will probably be pushed towards the new plans, same goes for telesales.

If I do not have an Unlimited, My Way or My All-in plan, do I have The Sprint Unlhttp://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4184-new-sprint-plansunlimited-my-way-my-all-in/page-21&do=findComment&comment=168191imited Guarantee?

No. The Everything Data and Simply Everything plans are still available and continue to offer unlimited data and to provide a premier wireless experience. However, The Sprint Unlimited Guarantee applies only to the Unlimited, My Way and My All-in plans.

They still have the  everything Data and SImply Everything plans...

  10. So, they've taken probably their most important market (unlimited data). Made it dramatically more expensive, so the people that don't need unlimited on all lines that should be happy on other carriers will have a cheaper monthly bill. They're also closer than ever in pricing to VZW and AT&T, all before Network Vision is done... With a big backer like SoftBank coming in wouldn't it make sense to either A. Try and maybe lower pricing for Unlimited data customers or B. Keep the pricing the same at least until NV is fully completed.

:td: Sprint just lost 5 port in phones from AT&T.  I was recommending my sister-in-law and her family switch to Sprint from AT&T for better pricing and service.  They agreed and just waiting for them to be out of contract this month.  I was planning on using the EPRP that is the same My Family is on.

Yesterday, I logged on and showed them the plan and even went through everything up to the point of checking out.  The MRC was $204.96 plus taxes and fees which was acceptable.

Today the EPRP is gone even though it is still shown and described all over that website but when you start shopping the New Unlimited My Way plan is the only option. So I went ahead and again entered the same phones and required data as I had done yesterday and the MRC is now $310.00 plus taxes and fees, not acceptable.

This wasn't a good idea but they were willing to do it.  This is just terrible timing on Sprints part IMHO.  Yes I know it may be a good deal for individual lines but for a family it isn't.  You are committing to a 2 year lock using phones that are NOT tri-band for NV best use and NV is at 50% complete (counting towers) at best.  It is non-existent in Ohio for the most part still, just like WIMAX was.

Not off to a good start for Sprint-Softbank-Clearwire.  Sprint's lost they are going to JUMP to T-Mobile and after 12 years I believe I will do the same next year when my contracts expire.

  11. I'd bet it's per line on family plans, but I wouldn't worry too much. The people that have been kicked because of excessive roaming deserved it, it's normally only in cases where there is both extreme roaming usage and a large time spent in roaming areas. Hitting over the roaming limit every once in a while won't be a big issue. The school I used to attend was a mainly stone/brick type constructed building, so once you walked into it most PCS signals from both T-Mo and Sprint were unusable. As a result I ended up on VZW 850 a lot and had quite a few months where I went over 300mb roaming and that was over a course of probably 2 1/2 years. Never got a letter or any mention. Unless your really pushing it they probably aren't going to take issue.

I don't roam often, so I'm not too worried. But, I do use a LOT of data (this month alone is over 3gb of useage already). So my fear is if I do roam, I will very quickly eat up the 300mb limit.

Also, is this 300mb limit per device or per plan. I'm on a family plan with 4 other devices, do all 5 devices share one 300mb limit, or does each device have it's own 300mb limit?

I'm not too worried about the minutes. I hardly use them.

  12. You don't get massive roaming fees, they first send a warning about excessive roaming or maybe two. After that if you don't lower your roaming or eliminate it they will drop your service and give you a period of time to port out your number.

Well, it's nice they try to warn you first before hitting you with massive roaming fees.

I to listen to Pandora at night from time to time. It usually adds around 200 to 300 mb of useage per night, so I am sure he went pretty far over the 300mb limit.

  13. So, only for existing customers. Or people that decide to poke around late after they've signed up on the new plans. I'm talking availability as in, listed on the main plans page so people don't have to go looking.

The plans are still there. I can change my plan to an everything data family plan via the website.

  14. Well your point about other plans being available without the stipulation appears to be false as of today, unless the older plans are still available via in store or telesales. In which case they most likely won't get any attention and die off quickly.

I think people complaining that sprint is no longer offering true unlimited because of the fact that sprint reserves the right to throttle video streaming to 1mbps on high traffic towers and times are way off base. First plans are still available that don't have that stipulation. Second, it's more a kin to network management that limiting unlimited data. Other carriers that instituted throttling have done so after a certain amount of data has been used for a month and can therefore be seen as a constraint on the amount of high speed data used. Where as sprint is reserving the right to limit on activity at times when there network is under strain. It therefore doesn't impose a limit on the amount of high speed data which one can use. In any case if a tower is having capacity issues your speed slows down anyway (as any sprint data customer should know). So in affect you get throttled by exhausting the capacity of a given tower, sprint is just trying to control one activity in order to make sure everyone data doesn't slow down to .05 mbps like happens know. Lastly, while one mbps might not allow you to stream hd video you can still stream pretty high quality video easily, so I could careless about this provision.

  15. Never said I could do anything, this line simply makes it easier for them to eliminate it. Normally all carriers let users grandfather in if their plans are eliminated. This is the first time I've ever seen something that seems so specifically against that in the T&C. I could very well be wrong and other companies may have similar lines, I just find it a little worrying.

Paves the way? They don't need any paving; they can just do it. That's the beauty of no-class action clause in their contract.

And what are you planning to do in response to this new line? You can't do anything.

  16. Here's my biggest issue over all this, do people really not take issue with the fact that Sprint just added a line in their T&C that basically states, we can move you to a new plan at basically any time we want should your current plan become unavailable. Normally you'd just be grandfathered in, like countless numbers of SERO users have been. It basically paves the way for them to totally obliterate unlimited down the road if they wanted, I mean VZW and AT&T have made it undesirable to stay on unlimited but they've at least let people be grandfathered in.

This is true. None of us know how long any plan will be around. Sprint may make boatloads of money and the network management schemes may be so good off these new plans that they do force them on us. Or they could be so unpopular and everyone avoids them so they scrap the new plans. No one knows now. I completely agree.
