  1. I am amused at Robert as the grumpy old man of S4GRU, yet I am quite certain that many of us are no more than two or three years younger.

I'll have to second that. #themoreyouknow

  2. I had a Teddy Ruxpin. My aunt thought I was younger than I was. She thought all 10 year old boys would love a story telling bear. It was great to launch in the trebuchet. The fad I really enjoyed was Garbage Pail Kids. I wish I had kept those.

I hear you Robert, seems like some of these fads would have been a better investment than stocks back in the day.

  3. I find it best to invest and ignore. The more you check your stocks, the crazier you get. I occasionally check to make sure that the companies haven't gone under, but I find it more therapeutic to set and forget.

day trading fever certainly can get the heart racing. I had minor holdings in worldcom and united airlines awhile back which turned south with a quickness. at least the loss was absorbed by my many other gains in the biotech sector.

  4. The only thing I ever wanted to change on my phone was the blasted plastic screen. The only phone I knew of that allowed that was a gsm only Nokia.

I remember how the nokia phones had those aftermarket screen replacements with the embedded holograms.

They disappeared like teddy ruxpin, chubbles, cabbage patch kids, care bears, pogs, slap bracelets, pet rocks and all of the other ridiculous fads

  5. If the consensus is better to go to a casino, then I better not get into stocks, since I always lose my money at casinos.

I believe the consensus is that trading stocks is not for the feint of heart or those looking for a quick gain and exit. (i.e. casino)

  6. svoice is terrible.. but google now voice search on jellybean = <3

Google Now seems to work much better at recognizing thicker accents. I do recall the 47 question test by that British? gentleman testing Google Now

  7. Too funny!!!! Dude should walk in to a sprint store and say with a straight face: "Yeah, for whatever reason I can't make or receive calls, can you look at it to see what's wrong?"

I had this happen to my old TP2 when I was in a car accident. it was sitting on the dash and crumpled with the car. Impressively, even the battery was bent and unbroken. It was also that day when I realized that airbags are pink. FTW
