  1. I'll second that as my dream announcement with the following addition: "Also, we purchased 20 MHz of 700/800 spectrum from ATT/VZW/whatever and it's getting aggregated to the 1900 with LTE-A which launches RIGHT NOW!"
  2. It's worth noting that this is almost the same device as the now discontinued Clear Spot 4G+. In fact, Clear directly sells WiMAX plans, also available at $35/month, but at a fixed lower speed cap, or $50/month for truly unlimited WiMAX with no throttling. The main difference between Clear direct versus Virgin Mobile is that the Clear spots are WiMAX-only and do not have EVDO capabilities at all. (Personally, even that 2GB of EVDO data makes the VM offering more attractive...we all know how well WiMAX works indoors and downstairs...*cough*) Clear direct: unlimited"]http://www.clear.com/plans
  3. Possibly old news, but a quick share for you all - If you're one of the folks like me who upgraded to an LTE phone early, but live in an area where WiMAX was available and reliable, this might be interesting to you: http://www.virginmobileusa.com/mobile-broadband/overdrive-pro-hotspot.html $35/month for 2GB 3G data and 10GB WiMAX data, the latter of which is interesting. This is a very interesting alternative to the new hotspot plans Sprint offers... $20 for 2GB, $50 for 6GB ... because there's no LTE yet in many of the big cities, whereas WiMAX is still available. Here in the DC area specifically, WiMAX does and has always worked very well. I thought I would share this with you lot as I'm very tempted to drop the hotspot feature on my Sprint plan and pick up one of these instead...more data for less money, and as strange as it is to say this, having WiMAX again would be nice, at least until LTE goes live.
  4. Yes, I meant network vision. Thanks for the update, Eric. I am an Evo LTE owner.
  5. Hi all, especially Robert: There has been a lot of talk here about NV 3G and LTE, but do we know anything about HD Voice deployments? Is Sprint rolling out their 1x-Advanced hardware along side these other NV upgrades, or has work on this not started yet?
  6. Robert: I'm confused what you meant with "Sites did appear for LA, Boston, Baltimore, DC and NYC in the schedule...but I decided not to show them", etc - does that mean these cities are scheduled but no work has begun, or what? I'm in DC and I remember you had announced they'd be a first round market, but what gives? Thanks.
  7. I realize S4GRU has stated that DC rollout has already started, but does anyone have any idea of the progress? Both 3G and LTE.
  8. Hi S4GRU, I am a longtime lurker but finally decided to register (hello!). I was wondering if anyone has any idea what building penetration should be like with LTE on 1900... I realize that by basic physics it should be an improvement over WiMax on 2500, but does anyone know any more information beyond that? It was honestly difficult to get WiMax indoors on my NS4G, even though I live about 500 meters from the nearest tower. I find that in general, while WiMax works outdoors fine in my area (Reston VA), it drops about 2/3 of the time I walk indoors. I have also heard that Verizon's LTE has pretty good building penetration in our area, but I am/was under the impression that theirs is deployed on 700. TLDR: What kind of LTE availability should we expect indoors with Sprint's LTE on 1900?
  9. I hope they put some serious backhaul into the tower servicing George Mason University. At peak times it slows to a crawl. 30,000 students and a good third of us on Sprint...
  10. Robert, can you confirm whether they do or don't assess that fee? It would be the deciding factor as to whether I sell my Nexus S after my EVO LTE arrives.
