What exactly does this mean? And how is this done? Right now there are only 2 sites sending out LTE

This site is in the Florissant, MO area. There were men up on the tower and I know this is a Sprint site. I drove up and sure enough there were 2 Ericsson trucks...but to my dismay, they told me they were working on ClearWire.

This is the site at 5959 St Louis Ave(Goodfellow and St Louis Ave) There were multiple AT&T trucks there when I was there with people working on telephone poles. Not sure what that was about but couldn't get much closer with all of the work that was going on. And, like I said....bad area, this is the best pic i got. My LTE connection started at I-70, going south on Goodfellow to St. Louis Ave and then I hightailed it back down Goodfellow to I-70....

27MB down 8mb up....i have screenshots for proof but my laptop crashed on my last night...wife threw the remote to me and i missed...so as soon as i switch out my hard drive and reinstall windows ill upload screenshots

I went to Ranken, so I know the area well, I might do it Tuesday as today I will have the kids with me after work so idk...

I am thinking about driving by here but this is not the greatest area for a small white dude like myself to be stopping and driving to a secluded area. It would take me out of my normal drive time by about 30 minutes. And it would cause me to have to drive in Downtown St. Louis during rush hour.

This is Collinsville, IL. As I said, I am not sure if this is Sprint work but this is definitely a tower listed in the Sponsor thread and someone was definitely there working today....If you look at the box to the right it lists all of the carriers at this site. Cricket, US Cellular, Sprint, Clearwire, and one more I can't remember.

I went back today and the rope was clearly moved to the other side of the tower. Someone was definitely there working today. I did a little more walking around cuz today I didn't have the kids with me. I saw some things that I didn't see yesterday such as the sign that said "warning, buried fiber optic cable" and disturbed ground. I took some more photos...also including on my flickr stream

What reasons would there be for a rope to be hanging down from a tower? I went to the tower closest to my house today after work and there was a rope hanging from the top of the tower. I didn't have my camera with zoom on it and the tower is super tall so i couldn't get very good pics with my GNex and it looks like there are 7 different "rungs"(not really sure the technical word) and I'm not really sure which one is sprint. There was also some dirt that had been recently disturbed and spray paint on the ground. Ah, I see it on the map. Cool...What does this mean exactly? Why are they installing new 3G sites? Consider me a noob but I appreciate all of the info.

I went by a Sprint Tower today. Took some shots just for comparison for later on down the road. Can someone take a look at this tower and tell me what I am looking at? I'm 99% sure that none of the Sprint stuff is NV related. Which stuff is Sprint? That way i know if anything is changed down the road.

Well if you look at the map there are some sites that are being worked on in North (St Lous) County and West County. And with them being so close to being wrapped up in Kansas it can't be too far off. And if there is no one giving updates on these towers who is to know? I am going to try to drive by a coupe of the towers in Alton today to just peek around and see if anything looks changed or anything.

Okay I am a sponsor now, so i can see the maps where the towers are in my area. Is it considered trespassing to drive down the roads where the towers are? Most of them are kinda in areas where people don't generally go to. I don't want to get in trouble for driving to the sites and taking pictures. Also is posting the coordinates of sites against the rules?
