I've thought about that, but then worry I will lose the ability to keep unlimited. Therein my dilemma.
Use Prepaid while you're waiting. Grab one of the next gen 2014 handsets in March

As long as you have all day battery and enough internal storage space, SD Card/ Removable battery are just nice bonuses. It's the tradeoff for a solid unibody design.

I got my Evo LTE in January '13. I'm always getting phones JUST on the edge of something really great - GS4 came out a few weeks later.
It's like that with any phone. You will run more apps/use more space as time goes on. Also there are always going to be some weaknesses in your phone that bother/annoy you. I think this age of quadcore/2gb/Triband/3K mah battery phones is the golden age though.
-
Are you using somebody elses upgrade?
No, I got the Evo at lauch. End of May 2012

More like nine months but who's counting
mine is up 1/1/14. but i guess it's 9 months if you want to wait until the contract is up..

Lets think about this for a second, why would sprint update the evo to 4.2.2 and a newer version of sense while the current flagship One is still on 4.1.2 with a slightly older version of sense? The One is going straight to 4.3 in a month or so, so like I said I would be very surprised if the evo will get updated before the one. Its not too often(if ever) where you see the previous years flagship running on new software than the current years flagship.
Good point, but the One already has Sense 5, the E4GLTE won't even get all the features of Sense 5.
At this point, use evo lte users are just waiting until our upgrades kick in in 4-5 months. No one is going to buy a One at this point, unless their phone is broken/not functioning.
-
If it happens it would be after the one gets updated to 4.3 I would assume. So I will say sometime in october if the one suppose to be at 4.3 by the end of september.
Why would the ONE getting 4.3 have anything to do with the EVO. It's practically EOL already. Better off gettting a OG or GS3 for free
-
The One X+ is apparently getting the Sense 5 Android 4.2.2 update in Taiwan today, Europe is supposed to be getting it sometime next week. Shouldn't be long now for the EVO and other models
This month would be amazing!

Best bet, grab the OG2 since it is triband. Use the trial period if you are unsure
-
Awaiting the Nexus 5 on the off chance it A. is actually made and B. shows up on Sprint. Otherwise, looks like I'll be waiting for a "Moto X Phone Pro" or X2 with tri-band. Argh.
htc max, ip5s or note 3

Other than price/tiered data, why switch if you're getting 50+ mb/s down

Nice deal on a new phone!

ok nice. a 1gb 3gb unlimited for 10$ -$30 would be cool for the holidays

Yeah, the line is under contract for another year.
Like, I said, I don't really know what I wanted them to do, or if I expected them to do anything. I just figured I'd call and try.
The only other options are satellite, which has similar data caps, is more expensive, has a lot of latency, and is generally unreliable. I've asked several of the neighbors (we are a group of about 10 houses), several used to have HughesNet and most have since switched to some sort of mobile broadband. One has Verizon, our direct neighbor has Sprint. There is a local WISP, but we are just outside their coverage area.
We haven't gone over our plan in the year we've had it...in fact for a few months we had only the 6GB plan. We don't stream anything, mostly because we still only have 3G, and the tower hasn't gotten new backhaul yet, so it averages around 500-700 kbps.
There is a glimmer of hope, though. The state of PA is requiring every ILEC to deploy DSL to every customer by Dec. 31, 2015. Verizon, of course, is the only one who hasn't met the commitment yet, and of course is our carrier. According to the law, it should be ready by October 2014 or so...
Maybe freedom pop or clear if they work in your area? you can get away with mobile broadband if it's just one user, 4 is rough.

I work for a Sprint Authorized Retailer.
All of the everything share plans are still available and you don't have to beg us to get set up on them. Perhaps we are not typical but we look to see which plan makes the most sense and benefits you the best and that's the plan we sell you.

Is Sprint sending out more rates plans booklets, or only the new Unlimited my way plans?

That's not always a good idea. My HTC EVO LTE only goes for $200-230 on craigslist meaning I would still have to pay $400 or so to get a new phone that way. If Sprint had something like Tmobile where I could trade in my evo and get new customer price for my new phone I would save a lot more money
The T-mobile EPP still resets your payments to a new 24 month term, and you have to pay upfront the down payment 100-200$. Doesn't make sense to keep doing that 4 times in 2 years, technology is getting to the point of diminishing returns.
At least if you sell back your phone, you can buy used or decide if you want to pay retail and not extend your contract. It could be a better deal for those who don't plan on leaving their carrier though.
-
None of these are really a good deal, since you have to return the device. Sell your device through Craiglist, and buy whatever you want without the extra fees.

Based on the press release, i'm guessing both 800/2500 won't be later until Q4 of this year. Perfect time to get a new phone though! Note 3, HTC One Max, Optimus G2, Iphone 5s
Just curious if anyone knows the answer: Clear has already installed 2500 MHz LTE on some of its sites (don't recall the exact number). Will these new hotspots be able to pick up LTE from these sites, or will they have to wait for a later-date Sprint re-implementation of LTE 2500? Also, has Clear used the dreaded Huawei LTE hardware on all of the sites they have implemented so far (which would render my first question irrelevant)?

One of my co-workers has T-mo and the unlimited plan that he signed up for is nice and all, but after (I think) 5 gigs of data, he gets throttled down to a 2g connection. He doesn't use his phone that much so I don't think he will have to worry about it.
If Sprint ever decides to make that decision to do a data cap, or a throttle, hopefully they will do like AT&T. IA couple of my friends are grandfathered in to an unlimited plan. No throttle, no caps.
AT&T throttles at 5gb on lte, 3 gb on hspa+ devices

That's the tradeoff. RW is giving a big price break on the phone and trying to make it back on service. Nothing wrong with that.
