  1. I have the PRL 2000 and where i work, in a metal building of all :/, i get no signal on Sprint, none at all and it will not roam it will keep trying to get Sprint signal, killing my battery. I go into work usually with 80% left and after working for 5 to 6 hours ill have 20% left. Will a new, when they push it, PRL help? or just to do with them working on towers in my area.

  2. Greenville, SC my Note 2 updated to PRL 2000 the other day and seems fine but its on eHRPD:13 and when i ask it to update PRL it says "there seems to be a problem please contact customer service, or try again later" I have not seen any improvement of signal around where i'm at i usually get 1 to 2 bars and data is very slow, but im hoping thats because of tower upgrades that are happening. But my question is the PRL 2000 normal or just something off the wall random, ive done some reading on it and its interesting.... and a buddies Galaxy S2 is on PRL 31104 but hes on Boost.

  3. Those announcements mean squat. There are cities announced last September as coming soon that still don't have one live LTE site, and there are some not even announced and have more than a dozen live sites. This is what happens when you have marketing folks making these kind of calls.

Yep :/ also has anyone updated their prl? Before mine was 550?? something now its 2000 even, when i first did it i was like uh ok? but no real improvement to be honest.

  4. I loved lte when i went through KY, TN, and NC but coming home to slow data and +1 for the slow text, my dad and i have been having issues sending text (Galaxy S2 on boost and Galaxy Note 2 on sprint respectively) I know i don't get good signal at work because of its metal building but Verizon gets signal pretty decent inside, mostly 4G LTE and even when it drops to 3G they still have faster speeds than me. Yet when i walk outside weather its the front or back door, literally a few inches out i get good signal.  Im hoping that Sprint will (soon) announce cities that they will be lighting up LTE soon, and even better if they say Spartanburg and Greenville.

  5. Anyone having up and down signal? Sunday before i left for KY i had little to none, even after i left work were i get nothing, still had little signal. My dad who has Boost Mobile(Galaxy S2) had the same problem, my brother-in-law tried to call him because he thought our corvette was gone but never got through, not even to voice mail. Today i have had pretty good signal all day, i have been listening to Pandora for 2 hours doing yard work (and if anyone needs a good Bluetooth headset get the LG tone plus its amazing) and it never skipped a beat, usually it will lag after 3 or so songs and take a minute or two to load a song but it was snappy. After i got in and took a shower i was curious and ran a speedtest, i pulled a 99 ping .93DL and .85UP, not bad but while i was on the way to and from KY and hit a few 4G LTE spots i pulled a avg of 10DL and maxed around 20! then i came home and was like :( but i know it will eventually get better, but when? Just checking to see if anyone has heard any new updates, info, or rumors.

  6. I must have missed this? I would have tried to set him straight. Do you have chick fil a in New mexico? Bojangles makes some mean spicy chicken too. If you are ever in the south east need to try.

There Chicken Biscuits are awesome, spicy yet good(i tried grape jelly on one and its not too bad try it) plus a Large sweet tea :) and their seasoned fries are good..... I think we turned this thread about SC market into a thread about who has good chicken haha but its worth it :)

  7. I pressed LIKE for your post just because you mentioned a Chickfila Spicy Chicken sandwich. A personal fave of mine. What were we talking about again???

    Robert

About the network lol, i love the spicy after i ate it the regular does not taste the same now. But anyway I seen the eHRPD: 13, what dose that mean as far as signal stuff? I done a quick search while at Fatz waiting for food and seen some results saying that the tower my phone is connected to has been upgraded to the new stuff and just dosent have lte turned on yet. True or not true, thanks.

    P.S.

Sends a Chick Fil A Spicy Sandwich to Robert for lunch. :)

  8. large stores such as Walmart will repeaters inside the store to boost the signal, which will increase your data speeds too. Your friend must work/live in a brick or metal building too because the cherrydale area has quite a few towers around which non but one has been updated to NV equipment. Metal building are a pain when in come to cell service but when Sprint finishes NV which includes LTE and full build sites in this case they will be using a 800mhz signal that works better inside a structure. Your friend needs to call Sprint and request a airwave that will solve a lot of no to low signal problems. How long have you not had signal at her house? Could be related to the NV up grades that are going on. Does she live off state park rd?

Yeah she lives off state park rd, i was at the Chick Fil A at Cherrydale after work today for a spicy chicken sandwich(licks lips) and got a little over 1.0 mbps down and .8 up. I went to Hamricks off Whitehorse rd and got almost 2 down and 1.5 up but i was literally 300ft from the tower haha. I looked in my settings last night while at supper and my network type was eHRPD:13 and done a quick search while waiting for my food and some said that it means the tower that my phone is communicating with has been upgraded to lte? Is that true or just talk? Either way im hoping its not long until we see upgraded NV 3g and later 4g lte.

  9. the tower that you were on was across from Applebees beside the mini storage buildings. This site still has legacy equipment on it . Were you inside Walmart when you got these speeds?? Where do you work at? 85% or more of Greenville county has coverage. The areas that lack coverage is northern parts of Greenville areas such as table rock, Marietta areas.

Yeah i got those speeds in Walmart haha, and i work at the Oreilly's in Berea. I guess its the metal building but once i walk in the store i drop to 1-2 bars and when i go in the back part i get nothing period. Its not a big deal but a friend of mine who lives by Cherrydale gets no signal period, neither do i when i go visit her. Not sure were the signal drop happens because i dont use my phone while driving at all so i cant say for sure where it just drops but at her house even on the deck we get no signal. We have called sprint and emailed them and they told use that all the towers are working fine and theres no upgrades for the Greenville area at all. Im just hoping it comes soon, even if they fix just 3g to pull 1+mbps down and good signal everywhere i would be happy.

  10. Anyone else in Greenville sc having data / voice issues? In northern Greenville data has been slower and timing out a lot more than normal. I also have had outgoing call issues, which sends me to a Boost Mobile error message. When I dialed *2 it sent me to Boost Mobiles customer service. This has been going on with both of my Sprint devices. I do live in a "fair service area" which data is a bit slower but has worked for the most part in the past and voice drops a call ever now and then, but now its very hit and miss. I hope this clears up soon or I may have to get a pre- paid with another service provider to have a working phone. :(

I've been told by a sprint rep that they are working on data/voice in our area (greenville) but the voice was done at the beginning of the month, and data would be done on the 17th(today) I'm hoping it gets better, 3g is just plain slow, 4g lte would be nice but SC is scheduled by the end of the year to be done.

  11. They're definitely upgrading the towers in the upstate right now, just no LTE on any of them yet so it may still be a while :(

Yeah, i would be happy with decent signal, where i work now i get no signal at all. I would like to have decent 3g for now i can, kinda, wait for 4g lte. Just going up to Charlotte last Saturday for the big car show i loved 4g lte, i maxxed at 9.09mbps down but averaged about 4-6mbps down, it was pretty sweet. I just dont like how Sprint is kinda behind in terms of 4g roll out. :( Well at least i have unlimited data (: sofar this month over 1.5gb.
