  1. It's likely optimized quite a bit for battery performance because so far reviews have said it drains at about the same rate as the G2. Hopefully that's the case because the G2 has a good reputation for battery life.

I have the G2 now and the battery is very good I avg 18 hours, with 60% auto brightness usually poor Sprint connection and over 2 1/2 to 3 hours of screen on. I have no complaint about the battery, plus it charges quick too. I sometimes plug it it while I get ready for work and with in 15 or so mins it will gain about 25% charge, that's not even using the Qualcomm quick charge thing since I haven't seen one yet.

  2. AJs article confirms it's triband enabled. Every Sprint phone from here on out will be triband enabled.

Ok, hopefully once Sprint starts rolling out the b26 it will be interesting. I'm on the fence about this phone, not sure if I should spend the money on it or not.

  3. I'm ready to go play with one in a store to compare it to my G2, I like the phone just nit sure would it be worth going to from a G2. Only concern is the slightly smaller battery in it, but I'll past judgement when I seen some stats from real users with real day to day stuff.

Edit: just looked at it on phonearena site and it don't show its tri band? I'm guessing it is just listed correctly at the time.

  4. Base storage will be 32GB. I for one have two 32GB Sd cards so I'll be upgrading for that reason alone. Also - my brother's phone is a cracked S3 so he'll inherit my beloved G2. :P

I'm more interested in the color available. I kind of like the lighter silver but we'll find out tomorrow which colors are available for which carriers. I wouldn't want a color that can be scraped off.

I personally like a gun metal grey color, looks silver in daylight but at night Its more black. But the current one in red looks great, reminds me of a red rum plasti dipped m3.

  5. The video did a great job, looks like the m8 will be a great phone. Only thing I'm not going to pass judgement on just yet is the 4up camera, I'll have to see comparisons before I get one. I hope sprints will be 32gb with 128 micro sd card support. Might have to trade me g2 up for a m8. As long as the battery life is worth a day's good hard use like my g2 is. Well know later today in its announcement I guess, cya guys there.

  6. In that case I'll wait and see what the new one has to offer and its Sprint release date, then think about it. If the new one is good I might trade my g2 plus note 2 for one.

  7. Hopefully it'll come with B41/26 enabled out of the box!

Phone looks really good. Torn apart between the S5 and this. Have to wait until tomorrow :/

I'm hoping for b26/41 also out of the box, I'm torn between keeping my G2, trading my note 2 for a og One or sell note 2 then buy a new One.

  8. I'm curious about this phone, if it's decent I might buy one. I like HTC, thought about buying a og One but I think for some parts it would be a down grade on what I have now so I'm waiting for the new one. Needless to say I'm ready for Tue, then ready to hear when it launches on Sprint.

  9. eHRPD is the software layer that routes all 3G traffic through the 4G Core. If you turn off LTE you'll see it says EVDO Rev. A instead when on 3G, that then sends traffic through the MSC like before.

So there's something wrong with my phone when it's set to lte/cdma we're it will drop connection for a few seconds then come back. But with it on cdma only it seems to not happen? Maybe the 4g core is over loaded and tries to kick me off maybe?

  10. That wouldn't be a tower issue. It would be a 4G Core issue. All of the tower stuff is identical, it's just a software overlay that sends all your traffic to the 4G Core instead of the 3G switch, even when on 3G. It's likely just a small traffic routing issue.

Unlike the MSCs the 4G Cores are all interconnected and can dynamically route traffic from one to another. So if your "assigned" 4G Core for your area is getting overloaded but another one is underutilized, your data can instead be routed through there to help balance the network load. This system is entirely automated, but is obviously new, and thus still having the quirks worked out of it.

What if I am not using 4g at all and it happens on 3g ehrpd? I should have been more clear about that. Sprint reps say I'm in a strong 4g area but I've yet to get a usable signal.

  11. Seems like switching to cdma evdo gives me faster speeds than being on lte/cdma with ehrpd. Maybe a tower issue? Idk but either one will drop data every so often.

  12. How do you wipe a note 2 completely, like just bought out of the box New? Ice done the factory reset and a (hold power vol and home) reset. But it still shows the phone number and the account email thing, asking this for a friend. She is scared someone's gonna get her number or account stuff. Thanks for the help.

  13. Well that sucks. If you want a good, non-bias look at the LTE around you, try Sensorly.

Even sensorly shows some lte in my area(Greenville SC, Berea more specific) I don't know if my g2 has a weak rf, or just my luck lol.

  14. Yeah, Sprint says I'm in a lte area but I don't get it at all. So I can't really test if it's that or not. I may go by a repair Sprint store and see if they will give me another phone,

  15. Anyone notice their 3g and voice drop for about 10 or so seconds then come back, but if I switch from lte/cdma to just cdma it won't do it. It was only doing it every so often but lately it's been doing it more and more to the point that trying to do anything that requires data useless. Think it might be the phone or network?
