  2. Well got my new phone and it worked fine (3g) for 30 mins the dropped, went to a corporate store and the guy and I were talking and I told him that I just got this phone replaced and a new SIM card and handed him the card a SIM comes on and guess what they were two different numbers. He put the right one in and the phone works flawles. Not sure if it was phone or the SIM was not correct but it's fixed now.

  3. Say what ?

Well it won't stay connected to either lte or 3g even voice drops constantly, I'm leaning towards I have a defective phone. Anything Hunan made can break even if assisted by robots, not every product has a 0% fail rate going down the line. I'm getting it tomorrow I'll keep y'all posted on what happens.

  4. I read that same post wondering if it was true. He said Sprint didn't provision all of the devices correctly because they rushed to get the devices out or something along the lines of that.out I'm hoping a software update can fix this or else, Sprint will have to do a recall and replace everyone's device.

Yeah, mines getting replaced just in case if that done fix it then it has to be something on sprints side.

  5. Was reading a post that a guy put on the M8 Sprint forums blaming the signal and connection issues to the Sprint system no being able to provision the phone right now. Could that be true or just some hot air junk? Mine's been activated since last Thursday and it's still having the connection issues, hoping the replacement phone fixes it.

  6. If you still have your old phone, can you try the following to see if phone starts connecting again?

    1) Go to dialer and enter:

    2) ##SCRTN# (##72786#)

    3) Press MENU in top right corner

    4) Select "Reset"

I'm curious if this really is a hardware issue that will be fixed with a new device, or a software issue that will happen with your new phone eventually anyway.

Also, what is the state of NV upgrades in your market? Is it fully upgraded to LTE / In progress / not started? I found that traveling through / between upgraded/non-upgraded sites ends to hose up connectivity.

I've done the ##72786# a few times and it will work fine for a few seconds then it goes crazy again. I'm in Greenville SC and it's 99% done with nv and 60%ish Ltd accepted per the thread on s4gru. I'll post when I get my replacement M8, I'm hoping it's a hardware issue. Only reason I'm really thinking its a hardware issue is when I had my G2 I never had this problem.

  7. My replacement phone should be here by then end of this week I hope. Done everything I knew how to do and even got a new SIM card. Took it off the network then back on still don't want to connect so there sending me a new phone. They keep saying it was because its a spark device and I didn't have my gps on to get the best signal lol but I'm hoping for the best I love this phone.

  8. It's really tough to know if it's a device issue or a network issue. Just go to any sprint gs5 forum and you will read very similar complaints as well.

Hmmm. Maybe do many trying to be activated on the network at a given time period?

  9. I wish I had an answer for you other than taking it back.

All anyone could do is try the ## thing it made it work better than before. I'm going to a store tomorrow and see what they can do since I didn't buy it straight out I done a trade plus cash for one. I do have insurance so they might send me another one.

  10. It might be interesting to keep track of these issues. I wonder if there is a hardware difference. I have hardware version 0005. Anybody have something different?

Also have 0005, still have a random drop in all signal. Will have the x above the signal bars.

Edit: May have spoken to soon, back to it not wanting to connect or hold a signal.

  11. It was stated in another thread that these issues seem to be concentrated on those early online sales and since most M8 users here ordered off the internet early the problem probably seems bigger than it actually is.

I got mine from a store and have the connection issues. It dose not seem like it wants to hold any kind of signal.

Edit: I done a ##72786# and it seems like that fixed it for me. I hope if not I'll take it to a store to get a new one.

  12. Just an update, I went to the sprint store yesterday and swapped out my m8, I was mulling over the nexus 5 or getting off of spark phones altogether with the note 3, I ended up getting another m8 to give it another chance to see if it was the device or the network.

It was the device, where my original m8 would often never connect, the new m8 works perfectly fine. If anyone else is having issues with an m8, go swap it out as you could have gotten a bad unit like I did.

I think I have a bad one too, won't connect at all thought it was network but I went to Charlotte NC for the Zmax 4 wide nationals and even it Gaffney SC and it wouldn't connect. I have to wait until Monday to go get mine swapped out since all the repair/service stores are closed on Sunday around me.

  13. I am connected to band 41 right now in Uptown Charlotte, near the Holiday Inn on College St. Have been getting it here since my g2 was spark enabled a couple months ago. It's the only spot I have noticed though.

I guess I'll have to see if my M8 gets any when I'm at Zmaxx tomorrow.

  14. I want to believe that it will be an update specific to sprint phones, nothing more.

That's kinda the way I'm thinking. But will it apply for the BoomSound speakers or just headphones? After reading the article it looks like the Sprint variant has Harmon Kardon speakers built into it instead of regular BoomSound speakers. I'll try to go visit a Verizon store to see if they have one to play with and see if they sound different. All I know is this M8 sounds amazing.

Also, I see the " fast 60fps" mode in the camera for 1080p thanks.

  15. Now this does make more sense, custom software with hk headphones. I just don't see the actual hardware of the phone being any different.

Kinda like the M7 with beats and some that came with beats headphones. But if there is a special edition or is it exclusive software the Sprint version is going to be getting in a update?

  16. I am thinking that the hardware is the same on all devices but the sprint version will have additional software for the h/k audio which will be nothing more than just an equalizer preset similar to beats audio before it, at least that's my thinking anyway.

Or a pair of headphones and software. I think the M8 sounds amazing as it is, unless they want to put a subwoofer somewhere then I might want it lol.

  17. There is a setting where you can record 1080p video at 60fps and it does a pretty good job at it. The default is at 30fps I think.

You know how or just heard?

  18. So far I love this phone even with out it being activated yet. Only thing I have a question about is when you have gps off it has the icon in the notification bar, guess I'll have to get use to that. And as far as camera, to me I can't tell much difference between my G2 and M8 (atleast on the phones screens that is). Also dose anyone know it the M8 is 60fps at 1080p?

  20. Just got my M8 today and a otterbox defender case and it's one of the best otter box cases I've seen. I've yet to activate it, gonna wait until I sell my G2. So far I love it, screens nice it's quick and the speakers are down right amazing to hear. And who ever said this otterbox is one of the best I have to agree with you 100% feels great and believe it or not the screen protector is not that bad.

  21. I'm waiting to get my M8, either gonna trade my G2 for one or sell my G2 and buy one. I played with one and it feels smoother than my G2 and snappier. Camera I can't call yet until I have one in my hands to play with. Only questions is when going from camera to video camera( in the app it makes a slight beeping noise, anyway to mute that?) I'm ready to get a M8 though.

    Also how's the Defender case?
