According to wiki, Midwest Wireless was bought out by Alltel. So the company doesn't exist anymore. At least that's the way I interpret it.Maybe in that region VZW uses Midwest Wireless as their roaming partner? Just south of me VZW uses US Cellular for CDMA for their roaming partner. VZW has been agressive and deploying LTE, though.

Sorry if this has been answered but how come when I'm roaming on verizon the app says Midwest wireless?
-
Weren't we thinking this fall LTE roaming was going to begin?Doesn't matter until LTE roaming is actually available

Band 12 is us cellular? I guess I'm not too well versed in the CCA agreement.
-
So getting back the advantages of the Nexus 6 over the Nexus 5. All bands for CCA/RRPP are supported by the 6. Presumably the Nexus 5 doesn't have this capability?

Hmm. I may stick with kit kat until xposed is working. I'm way too reliant on xposed. It will, the dev is working on it, but he has stated it is pretty tricky, so it might be a while.

Xposed doesn't work with art for now (which I knew) or it never will or can't?Xposed likely wont available on Android L since the Runtime will be defaulted to ART and Xposed doesn't play with ART. To get the Xposed features, you'd have to flash a ROM that has the mods implemented.

Reading the list of Lollipop features, I see many, many new features are from 3rd party roms and xposed. Having these features now makes me feel a bit underwhelmed. Obviously The UI changes are huge but overall, I can do a lot of the L stuff now with kit kat.
Just an observation. Still excited thought!

Excessively awesome you mean!We should start a poll to see how many think this phone is excessively large.

It would bug me when I place it on a table and having it rock back a forth using it.
-
I suppose that's a fair argument. I usually take scheduling and what I hear on when sites will be completed with a grain of salt.

For me, I enjoy anticipating new things. I order something from Amazon, I'm love the excitement leading up to it arriving. Tracking it on UPS's website adds to it. Then once it comes, it's almost like the wait was more exciting. That's how I'm handling it now.
Yes, waiting is frustrating especially since Sprint said Winona was "coming soon" February of 2013. Also since nearly everywhere else in Minnesota/the MN market has LTE of some sort.
I like following the site acceptances, keeping the premier sponsor thread going, visiting local sites and seeing work being done, collecting GCI's etc. It's fun.
Once Winona gets LTE, the wait will be over, GCI's and PCI's collected, then the fun is over.

That's basically where I am at too. I need to be right by a window to get any reception at all. Even on 800 voice. It's pretty spotty in Winona from what I've found. If you're near the Goodview water tower it's fine, but anywhere east of there sucks. I don't receive calls in my house, I just get the voicemail notification so I know to go outside and call them back.
-
Same here brother, same here.meanwhile, we're still waiting in Winona...
-
I don't mean to bash what so ever. It's frustrating, yes, but I've been on these forums long enough to understand what the delays mean and why. The hardest part is trying to convince family and friends that the network will improve. People who don't follow this don't understand that.
Also, I have already witnessed the voice upgrades. My nexus 5 stays on 1x800 most of the time. I'm surprised they didn't say that voice is done. If I'm not mistaken, doesn't 800 voice mean the towers are already voice upgraded?
-
I agree. It's bulls**t that they announced it before it was anywhere close to being done. I know a couple sites are ready but I'm guessing they are waiting for a cluster launch.
-
The developer page for the image says GSM/LTE. I'm guessing they meant to include CDMA for us Sprint folks?

Is there a consensus on which radio is best for 1x800/3G performance? I live in a non-LTE area and struggle getting signal in my lower level apartment. With .15 I never got 1x800. I got a signal of 1xRTT of -104 to -108. With the current 4.4.4 radio, I'm getting around -95 to -105 of 1x800 and -101 to -108 eHRPD.

It should pick it up by itself. You shouldn't have to do anything.

You'll need a phone that has the capability to pick it up. My nexus 5 does. I believe all Sprint spark devices will.didn't know I could do that. I'll have to give it a try when I get home this afternoon. Thanks!

Speed tests, yeah. They are slow. I'm relatively East too and the coverage is spotty. Can you connect to 1x800? I've had some decent luck with it.

There is one tower due tomorrow. The rest are all mid to late summer. I'm in Winona too. It's been a long wait. I've had the opposite 3G experience. I've loaded pages faster in 3G than some of my friends on Verizon 4G lately.anyone have any info on Winona's updates for LTE? I know Sprint has said the upgrade is complete, but there's no sign of LTE, and even 3G speeds have dropped off a cliff in the last few months, not to mention voice connection.
It was even nice of them to send everyone a message saying "your all new network is here, with stronger voice and faster data". Seems a little premature to send out a message saying it's complete, when it clearly isn't lol.

I know most of you are discussing 4G on the new baseband but where I am, I have no LTE to test. But, I have noticed that my N5 loves 1x800 since the 4.4.3. Has anyone else noticed?
