  1. For all you Premier Sponsors out there with the ability to track GCI's, this is a call for data!! The MN market threads have been pretty nonactive as of late! If anyone out there has a tri-band phone and is willing to submit some Signal Check logs, that would be excellent! Head on over to the Premier thread for MN!!

  2. Fortunately, all tower information is public, you just have to know where to look. If someone took the time, they could compile moderately complete tower maps for all 4 carriers with just building permit data all across the country. That is how I compiled it all for the Vegas market.

Unfortunately however, many small towns (at least the ones around me) don't require building permits for site upgrades.

  3. Not going to happen. Any other carrier will shut a site like ours down with no remorse and bring the leaders to court and ruin their life's.

We're just one bad article or post away from being shut down like the other sprint network upgrade blog last year. We live because we stick to our core mission statement and hopefully will become a repository of knowledge and info on the later years as the network vision program wraps up.

I couldn't imagine what an article or blog post could lead to a shut down of a site.

  4. Hm, that's interesting. It must not be a common thing for a big telecom to let the information out like Sprint. I've always wondered what Sprint thinks of s4gru. I guess there is a paywall for most of the information.

  5. Hello all.

This maybe sort of off topic but I was wondering if anyone has or knows of maps similar to the ones on this site showing locations of Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile sites. I think it would be interesting comparing them to Sprints sites in terms of vicinity to each other.

    Thanks!

  6. Well, it's been a while.

Anything new going on around you guys in Minnesota? I live in Willmar and I haven't seen anything change. Still only have LTE downtown, and nowhere outside of town. There is 1 tower left (right across the lake from me) that needs the LTE upgrade.

Anyways, how are things going elsewhere?

    Winona checking in. Bagel LTE.

  7. CSFB is active on 95%+ of Ericsson and Alcatel Lucent sites. And about 80% of Samsung. Samsung should be near 100% in 30-45 days. The biggest remaining areas for Samsung is Ohio, the Seattle area, Denver and California's Central Valley.

The other areas for Samsung are complete or wrapping up. The ERI and ALU reaming sites are isolated little pockets all over. Where either there are remaining legacy sites that are not from the same OEM, or there is a CSFB integration problem at the MSC.

For what it's worth, La Crosse, WI LTE is working on my Nexus 5. CSFB must be active there.

  8. We don't have specifics on towers unless members report work on them. Sorry!

I figured out that my signal issues are on Sprint's end. A buddy of mine has a signal booster which gave me full bars along with driving around town to use a different tower. I'm hoping this is a sign of LTE to come?

  9. La Crosse (yes part of this market) will be launched soon. It has been added to Sprint's official coverage maps.

Is there any evidence for 4G work going on currently in Winona, MN? My reception has been awful for the past two days and I want to make sure it's the network and not the radios in my phone.

  10. With all the new towers in La Crosse, has anyone tried doing sensorly on I-90 to Winona? Just curious if they were getting close or if I should try mapping it out myself?

Nope. None yet. I go to and from La Crosse/Onalaska and Winona on weekends. The furthest up I90 I get 4G is on the Minnesota side of the Interstate Bridge.
