Seems like a waste.  If you are going to go with a new phone on contract go with the best one or close to the best.  Sprint's paying for most of it and you will still get updates and performance will be much greater.  

Thanks for the article.  Clears everything up as to why in Minneapolis I cannot connect to LTE with my Nexus 5 when I could with my Galaxy S3.

If the current speed of the LTE rollout is any indicator this isn't going to matter to anyone.  Now, if the iPhone 6 doesn't have support I might be worried.

Please let this be true.  I have been waiting since the Nexus S for this phone...

Question for those talking about buying a phone off contract on Sprint.  Why?  As far as I know they don't offer lower rates so what's the point?  Just to give you the freedom to leave if you want?  Why would Sprint do that?

And does this support the 800 LTE or whatever.  I see people say they are passing on a lot of Sprint phones due to no triband. 

I live in St Paul and work in Minneapolis so I am excited to see if I get any 4G on my way to work in the next few weeks.

I wonder why they are working on 3rd round before starting around half or more of 2nd round. MN was supposed to have first sites apparently in October but I haven't seen or heard anything at all yet. These terrible 3G speeds are wearing so thin on me right now...

Has it started in MN yet or are they behind schedule?

Hmm, I thought Minnesota was starting end of August. Looks like they must be behind.

I could see this go both ways. The marketing material could have been printed a long time ago. Sort of like how they print super bowl champion hats and shirts for both teams They would just need to reprint the materials for a June release assuming the delays in testing have been a recent event. Until I see a release date posted on Sprint.com I won't believe anything.
