  1. The Xcel tower in EP on Technology Dr. that has been serving LTE from the old legacy antennas looks like it's getting it's cabinets upgraded this week. I assume tower climbers will be seen within a couple weeks to replace them. There is also Nextel equipment half way up the tower. Any guesses as to whether they pull that equipment out at the same time while they have those huge lines shut down?
  2. I hope so. I have been having trouble getting decent LTE or 3g in EP and Chan for months now, and Lakeville has been bad for the last couple weeks too now. Bloomington is the only place I frequent where I can actually count on usable data at the moment. In Chan I can be line of site with the tower and still have awful data on both LTE when I can get it and 3g when I can't. Sprint had sent out techs to the Chan tower multiple times over the past two months. At least the voice drops have decreased since then. I am excited for the full deployment, and hopeful that it's as good a network as they keep saying it will be. When LTE first went live in Chanhassen it was great range and speed. I'm excited to see that again.
  3. I called in the issues I was having in EP and Chanhassen. They found a data issue on both cells, and a different site down in EP. So hopefully next week things will improve in the area.
  4. Chanhassen has been terrible lately for voice, and not great for data. I can't keep a phone call connected in Chan right now for more than a few minutes. I know this is part of Network Vision, but does anyone know the why? 4g coverage seems to be reduced in range at the moment, and 3g is unusable at times (as in constant 404s on web browsing) Again, I'm not whining, I'm just curious about what part of the process reduces network coverage/quality after seeing it drastically improved.
  5. Just picked up 800 for the first time in Chanhassen, I'm close to the water tower, but picking up signal from a tower farther west.
  6. Do we need to cross reference them with LTE coverage too?
  7. Do they still have a guest Wi-Fi network at the stadium? Last time I was there, that was the only usable data I could find.
  8. I imagine working with cities, counties, utilities, site owners, etc is quite the nightmare, especially once you involve sections of power infrastructure.
  9. Looking again at the site, even though it's been kicking out LTE for months, it appears to still be operating through the legacy antenna system. It's at the top of a high voltage line tower, with Nextel antennas half way up the same tower. Perhaps the plan is to do the full nv upgrade and remove the Nextel equipment all in one project, since I remember them having to take those power lines out of service when they originally built the Sprint side of the site.
  10. Is it typical for a cell site's 3g connection to get really bad during the NV process? The site on Technology Dr in Eden Prairie frequently times out on 3g if I can't pick up a 4g signal from it. Even when I'm right next to the tower and have great signal for data, speed tests keep showing no connection, web won't load. If it's typical, that's fine for a while during the upgrade, but if it's not, I'll give Sprint a call and have them put in a ticket for that site.
  11. It was the North tower that I was getting 800 from. I also connected to one on the east side for a while, but I wasn't getting 800 from that one.
  12. 8 by car right up to the tower but 3 is fairly straight, I would guess about 7 miles.
  13. I'm sitting in a basement in Farmington getting 800 off of the Northfield tower.
  14. More 4g being served up in Bloomington at 494 and Bush Lake Rd. On Friday I was picking it up from the east side, now I'm picking it up from both the east and west sides of the cell.
  15. I have been getting it very hit and miss for a couple weeks ramping up to today. Today it actually held a signal until I left the service area and got a ways down 494.
  16. 4G is live in Bloomington off the Highland bank cell at 100 and W 84th!
  17. Finally got a small pocket of it to map on sensorly.
  18. I have been getting intermittent 4g from the Highland Bank cell at Normandale and 84th in Bloomington. I mapped about 6 points on Sensorly before it reverted to 3g. I can also pick it up in the towers on Norman Center Dr, but can't map that because I can't get a gps lock.
  19. Centurylink has been working at the base of the tower on Technology Dr. in Eden Prairie, messing with fiber. Maybe this tower will finally pull acceptable speeds! Even on 4g it's bogged most of the time. I can hope, anyway.
  20. No, too far south. Pretty sure it's from the cell at jfk.
  21. Got 4g for the first time today in my part of Lakeville. Mapped from 210th and Dodd to Cedar and then north close to 179th.
  22. Fair enough, although Sprints network enhancement map shows a cell there as well.
  23. I'd be amazed if you knew who was on each tower by heart. I didn't mean any offense, hope you didn't take it that way.
  24. I have an app that has been dead on with all the other cell locations, it shows me connected to that one on native Sprint. I used to ping pong between one to the south and one to the north. Is it possible this is a new site?
