I don't think Sprint has updated their coverage map anywhere yet with 1x800. They seem to have their hands full already with figuring out where there is LTE coverage. There is no 800 LTE anywhere yet to our knowledge (at least any that has been formally launched), so all the 1x and LTE that is shown is of the PCS variety.
You can tell their indicated LTE coverage is bogus if for no other reason than you have places where they show LTE but no native voice. LTE propagates more poorly (or rather, requires a stronger signal to work properly) than 1x (all else being equal), so that shouldn't be the case anywhere. Even when 800 LTE is rolled out, it should be on sites that already have 1x 800 active. Unless additional LTE-only sites are added (and such small cells will only be deployed to fill in urban and suburban areas, not on market edges), LTE coverage will always be a subset of 1x voice coverage.
even so i've been seeing signal dbm's on lte in the 110's and 120's at best my signal dbm gets to about 96 before it drops all together unless your saying a LTE signal at 120 is the same as a 1x signal at 96

sorry for the added confusion i was just curious as to why indy has lots of 800 towers but the sprint coverage map still showed only the old 1900 only voice coverage lte coverage even out reaches the voice coverage which would not be the case if they show the 800 mhz towers on there

sorry if this topic has been covered before but when will sprints network map show the 800mhz upgrades in voice converage that they have been doing

just read an article that says sprint will be deploying clears LTE on 2500/2600 spectrum on all 38,000 NV sites http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/sprint-cfo-softbank-deal-lets-us-take-clearwire-spectrum-nationwide/2013-07-30

its been almost 2 weeks since we got 6 LTE towers were those towers just that bad?? or is work really starting in our area cause this is getting kind of frustrating 6 towers go up in 2 or 3 days then nothing for 2 weeks i would rather have 1 or 2 towers a week then this :-\

I think pricing is a huge plus for them too. My belief is that people stay with Sprint because the plan pricing is so good. I also believe that if they were to change that no matter how good NV makes the network subs will leave.
sprint has already changed that when they launched wimax. remember the 10 dollar premium data add-on, pre wimax that was not there. when people would complain about it i would say to them ok, go to at&t or verizon pay 30 dollars over there, and sprint got more subs during that time then ever, mostly due to the HTC evo (great phone) lasted me up till about a year ago before the processor overheated and just went on a boot loop non stop

That, and Derby. So many people in a small area.
yea the whole derby week will be a test i'm hoping they have the LTE towers up on the ohio up in cincy to see how LTE handles 500,000 people durring river fest and WEBN fireworks probably 100k of those sprint users on 2 or 3 towers

the true test of sprints LTE speeds will be next spring during thunder over Louisville

saw a huge mobile crane traveling down dixie hwy in florence maybe just maybe that is the crane bowlin group is using to put the new panels up on the towers didn't see it parked near a tower though just it moving on its own power with zero tall buildings around tallest things we have in this area is the cell towers
-
yeah i called up sprint to complain about my phone not working durring peak times and also asked if they were going to upgrade my home tower and the best answer i could get from them was it will be upgraded in the next 6 months -sigh- he checked towers all around me and they all said the same thing so no work is being done in boone or kenton county right now if there was he would have seen the start date on nv upgrade he said
-
we had a good week then a bad week of new LTE service anyone hearing anymore about work going on around town or seeing any trucks working on towers?
-
do you think they will have the river covered by the time the WEBN fireworks happen???
-
nevermind its early just woke up lol you have the note 2 now

I am at Washington park in otr, just took a sensorly and a "speedtest" test. No lte, but ehrpd and 1.2 down

if you still have the epic 4g touch that is a wimax phone you wouldn't be able to use lte with it
-
anyone getting any word or seen anymore work going on with other towers in the area??
-
as am i i'm on the boone county kenton county boarder and right now our 3g data is like 26kbps download and upload almost always fails wimax was 100 yards from my house when they stopped expanding it i'm very excited about LTE for sure lol

thanks to everyone that have been mapping the fort wright latonia area with the beautiful purple coloring
-
can we get some sensorly mapping for the fort wright latonia area i would really like to see northern ky getting in on some of that purple fun that cincinnati has going on
-
just learned fort wright, KY just went live with LTE today if anyone wants to map that area its too far away from me

-
oh and my phone went to 1 bar for about 6 hours today where i normally get 5 bars maybe they are starting work in boone county ky -crosses fingers-
-
i know verizon cust and att cust complain about that tower being slow or even unusable on busy days but they were on older phones that just had 3g while in line took them 30 min to pull up text scores for the ball game luckily we were in line for 2 hours lol got to love the diamond back lol another problem i see with the tower by kings island is they have an app that is a download hog as well if you want the real time mapping anyway something like 40 megs to download the whole map and it can only be downloaded while at kings island thats probably where the tower comes to its knees cause that app came out last year i know, maybe even 2 years ago
-
Well kings island they can't do anything about that when say 10k to 100k people try to connect to 1 tower even lte probably won't fix it completely during busy days
