i called and asked to speak to technical support and then starting asking questions that were way to technical for who i was talking to and told em its not my device thats the problem because ive been through this 1000x and then asked to speak to a higher level of technical support...the rep then i spoke to had alot of info to my questions and when i asked about specific towers she was able to tell me alot...yes the calls are getting choppy, ive been getting alot of echoing when on calls at least %50 of the time and even in the wee hours of the morning data speeds are still extremely low. looking at september for a completion date and the normal 30 day optimization period. but i will post as soon as i get the text notification about the upgrades starting.

All those bars added to the side of the tower makes me feel safe!!  This is only non lte around me.  Including verizon and att they all had permits.  They finished strengthening the tower now its a waiting game.

yup same boat here for the tower in downtown meriden..sceduled for upgrades to be completed in september should get a text message about a week prior to work begining, so hopefully i get the text soon and once done the rumor i heard about spark being on in meriden will hold water.

could be..either 800 or 2.5..i have heard some reports here in meriden that some have seen the spark symbol lit up but i havnt seen it for myself...but i can say this that i have had a couple voice calls with what has gotta be HD voice because the call quality sounded as if the person was standing next to you talking in your ear...call quality was  A M A Z I N G...

when spark is at %100 i hope those speed tests stand the test of time..i plan on ditching cox and getting a netgear LTE router and using that for internet.

yes it is and i called again to confirm what i was told and it is being worked on but only %30 complete and the complete time is september..which im sure will be complete by then because they always give themselves more time than not enough...it is strange that its not on the map..my guess because its a ground up rebuild, since that tower went live in 2005. i also did some poking around on that website you posted banananuts and the tower on castle craig mountain did or is in the process of getting a 3G and LTE upgrade so once these 2 towers are complete meriden will be blanketed in LTE/network vision goodness.

i spoke to a rep in technical support yesterday 5/8/2014 and according to him the hanover st tower is %70 complete....will take that info with a grain of salt as we all know sprint reps tend to bend the truth a bit or are mis informed...keeping fingers crossed

Where was that taken??...has anybody heard anything more on the tower downtown meriden??

Ive had a few instances where a call sounded ridiculously clear...first time it happened was about a month or so ago...could be laying ground work for more improvements around town before they announce anything, so maybe the next round of upgrades can be a"major" announcement for a enhanced network.

What danbury gets is what the downtown tower in meriden gets on its best day....lol

that is really weird that you have 4g service like that down there...here in the meriden area 4g is working pretty good except the tower near my home..only tower in meriden not upgraded...around town speeds are about 12/15 mbps download up to as high as 25mbps download with 40-80 ms ping...once spring/summer gets here im sure that when we will really see some 4g start lighting up all over the place and spark to start being available by the end of next year.

talked to a rep yesterday and the downtown meriden tower on hanover st now has a pending 30 day staus for network vision..lets keep our fingers crossed that it happens as before this happened and then it goes back to pending...also did anyone notice yesterday as well in the area that maybe phone calls sounded unusually clear??? wife called me mid afternoon and the voice quality was phenominal and then after that it was back normal...not complaining but maybe if they were testing HD voice and caught a glimpse of it and maybe someone else experienced this???

nothing yet...still pending...ive been wondering the same thing since thats the tower my address hits off of....i go anywhere else in meriden and service works good now and all the towers are upgraded but that one...makes no sense.

This is true...service has improved but some spots its still a working progress and some working progress's are taking waaaaay to long...but thers 55 more days until spring and im sure once the nice weather gets here service should really improve now that most of the work is done and they can start doing the final phases of the network upgrades.

Camp st would most likely hit off of hanover st. Possibly the mall...unless your getting LTE then most likely hanover st and you will notice slow speeds for data...that tower is still not upgraded what so ever..only tower in meriden not upgraded.

In wallingford alot and service has definately improved...2 more towers need upgrading..tolles rd and a tower on the corner of n.main and e.center st....other than that wallingford is looking good.

if anyone has access to look at the map of towers completed theres a good amount of geen popping up in ct especially in the new haven county and around stamford and bridgeport area...which hopefully means those are tri-band towers...r.i has just about the whole state covered...here in meriden all towers are green except 2...i would say come spring/summer the LTE coverage should be way better..and working better.

same here with the hanover st tower in meriden..still in progress and just looked at the map and alot of upgrades have been done in meriden all 800 mhz but 2 towers...e.main st. is a 3g/800 at least and hanover st is still pending after at least 1/1.5 years...and it just so happens to be a tower that my home hits...this is crazy...seems like the looney tunes is in charge of the upgrades.

Well sapposibly it has gotten network vision upgrades but i still have slow internet and no LTE...i bet those sites on top of the towers have been a ghost town as far as activity....so i dont know how they are doing upgrades or running maintenence...just gittr done!!!

Sprint says merry christmas downtown meriden, a ticket has been open for upgrades on the hanover st tower downtown meriden...said ticket is due to close monday the 23rd at 7 pm. There is such a thing as a miracle...lol

What tool or app are you using to see that info??

So is sprint employing the 800mhz LTE uograde in places were the 1900mhz is already done??...and does the sprint spark gonna be rolling out soon as well??
