  1. I think the same. Love to see the 800mhz in action. They also need more coverage, this is a small island and they can cover all easy. They are loosing some customer that will be more than happy to change from Claro and AT&T to Sprint.
  2. Guys. Sprint is better than ever. No more drop calls for me from UPR to Toa Baja and vice versa. Very good LTE speed. UPR Río Piedras Campus have LTE everywhere and usable 3g if LTE isnt available. I'm very happy with the change. Is feel like a new cell phone company, faster and reliable. To be better, they can include some Internet tethering for free. At least 500mb and people like me will be more than happy. Great customer service, very reasonable plans, unlimited data, subsidized phones, great phones, good LTE coverage, roaming, unlimited calls to cell and unlimited text messaging and mms, discount for a lot of people (government employees 15%, Sears 25%, Burger King 25% etc.). For me guys, is the best cell company in Puerto Rico. Before NV very bad. With LTE and new sites is the best. They still need to improve coverage in the island and their business here will be very profitable.
  3. Signal in University of Puerto Rico Rio Piedras Campus is better than ever. 3g inside buildings (law library) and 4g in classrooms (lawschool). I experience this about two or three weeks ago. Is really amazing to have 3g or 4g everywhere. From Plaza las Américas to Toa Baja no more drop calls from weeks ago. They're still working on Piñero antiguo el Amal and in that area I still have some trouble. The improvement is wonderful. Sprint in Puerto Rico are doing an excellent job in the network vision. Great! Thanks!
  4. Hahahahahhahaa. Robert, some people go there very fasssst! Hahahaha
  5. Check this test http://db.tt/IZ8HJxE2 38mb in Caguas. Excellent!
  6. Puerto Rico have more population density than China and so many others countries. Population Density: 1,163 density per sq mi/449 persons per sq km (2009 est.) Puerto Rico's population density is among the world's highest - only Bangladesh, The Maldives, Barbados, Taiwan, South Korea and the city-states of Hong Kong and Singapore are more crowded. (http://www.topuertorico.org/people.shtml)
  7. I use both. The better test I have is with the Galaxy Note 2 30mb (Close to Candelaria in Toa Baja). The better test with iPhone was 28mb close to the Universidad Central de Bayamón and Drive In Plaza in Bayamón. My SpeedTest app also crash many times in iPhone when doing a high speed test. But for the record. I think that because the Note has a separate antenna for the data gets connected to the 4g faster than iPhone. The iPhone need more time to switch from 3g to LTE, sometimes minutes. If you’re in a 3g area and drive to a LTE area the iPhone in all my test spend more time getting the LTE signal. The Note 2 is almost immediately. Is very fast getting the LTE. Another good advantage of Android is that you can use voice and data as the same time. My advice, buy an Android when released the HTC one or the S4 or maybe the Note 2 (wonderful) and conserve your iPhone, go to the Sprint site and switch from time to time to do your test and not get bored of any. Don’t tell my wife, but I’m still thinking Android is beautiful and better. But remember I can sleep in the sofa just for tell you this.
  8. Yes. Its working on Río Hondo and some parts of Cataño. LTE is available close to the Buchannan toll and continue until Dorado. With the sites complete to be honest, I have only few drops calls. Until today, I only have maybe one drop calls in weeks in the new coverage area. I agree that’s the network is a lot much better right now. I have a friend that is always performing bandwidth test with his AT&T iPhone 5. And let me tell you that when I have 4g I beat him 99% of the times . When I’m in 3g he beat me 105% of the time, . Our theory is that AT&T network is very congestioned because in Puerto Rico they are the 1st company in Puerto Rico and have to many subscribers. But Sprint has less custumers on their network. Network is free for us!!! Only for your Knowledge, Sprint is the 5th company in Puerto Rico. Is under OpenMobile. Order is 1) AT&T 2) Claro 3) T-mobile 4) Open Mobile 5) Sprint 6) Others prepaid companies. But don’t believe me for faith. That information comes from an independent study from a research company named Estudios Técnicos in San Juan. Soon Sprint will have more customers, because their network is improving drastically and people like us is starting talking about that and the good quality of their 4g, the good plans and the awesome customer service. Non paid annoucement ha
  9. Sprint spectrum is horrible in buildings. Sorry but this is true. I enter today to a meeting in the Business Administration Faculty room and my phone go to roaming. I exit the room and wait few seconds and get full signal in my phone. Again, enter to the meeting room and wait a while and its roaming again. 800mhz is highly desirable and will help with the signal problem very much. I read that they will start deploying LTE in this band in 2014. But In Puerto Rico 800mhz LTE will start running in 2021 hahaha. Joking about this, but, you know, hahaha. Claro and AT&T have a very better coverage in Puerto Rico but Sprint service and plans are better. For know I will give Sprint time to finish their upgrades. And let me tell you again, SPRINT LTE IS AWESOME!!!! Drop calls is a really BIG PROBLEM hahaha. Is a very bad publicity for Sprint when we need to tell everybody, "my call will drop for sure and if thats happen I will call you again, sorry I have Sprint!" Bad Publicity!!!
  10. Hi guys. Hope everybody was ok. Im fine too. Just sign in to let you know that the LTE in San Juan is spotted and Sprint announcement is not true. For example. In the University of Puerto Rico you get LTE only in few places. If you drive to Piñero Ave. the LTE is not available. Plaza las Américas is also unavailable. Some places at Milla de Oro have LTE and others no. I think they don't need to lie about this because the LTE service is AWESOME. I get 30mb in Toa Baja, close to Candelaria, 28mb in Bayamón close to Drive in Plaza and 28mb close to Tiendita Holsum in Toa Baja. Im very Happy with the services. I don't know why they need to publish this misinformation. http://newsroom.sprint.com/article_display.cfm?article_id=2524 . Nice to read from you again!
  11. Wao!!!! When I get very busy and think that I have no time to finish my days I will remember you hahaha . I really thanks for your care here and in the church too, because that work saves lives!
  12. hahahahahaha ok. I will not!!!! In that case, God bless you for two jobs well done. I call that, real multi tasking!!
  13. Last question for you! How the %^$*@ you do to answer so many questions in the forum and to appear in almost every forum here? You're a TITAN! hahahaha. Thanks for your time and for your effort to keep in touch with all info we need about Sprint and cell phone wireless technical data all over the country!!! We appreciate s4gru support and the care we need in Puerto Rico! and of course, for our friends in Virgin Island!
  14. You're right about the LTE, but for voice its different. Signal bars are suppose to show you real quality of the signal, or What is the purpose of the bars? But I know your point, there're multiple factors affecting the signal quality inside the building. The case is that maybe and probably with a lower frequency transmission the coverage is better. What you think?
  15. Its ok, but how is possible than I walk outside the building and get LTE and full signal bar and I enter the building and get signal lost? And maybe is the tower distance like you said, but can't be if I get full signal outside the building, Please correct me if Im wrong? My job is in the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. For example. In all class room of the School of Law the signal is very bad, zero LTE and a very few bars. You go out and get LTE and full bars. Claro and AT&T don't have that problem. I just make a comparison that is maybe related to the frequency but like you said, maybe is for others reasons. Thanks for your answer!!
  16. Could you or anybody explain this a little more? You talking about the 10mhz LTE advance? Buildings is a real problem! In my work Im unable to make a call, Claro and AT&T works good in the same place. If I go out the building I can get full signal bars in the cell phone. I can also get LTE outside the building, so network vision really do not increase the building penetration to much. I think 800 mhz can help with this very much!!
  17. I'm sad. For Sprint Puerto Rico this mean 2021. Don't expect 800mhz. Everybody knows the history of Spint in the Island. For now Im happy with the LTE in 1900. If they complete everything, is very good for us.
  18. So I loose another battle hahaha. iPhone is a great phone, more realiable than any other, ¡but I love my note 2! (another great feature of Note 2 in Sprint network is that you will be able to use data while calling but only works in LTE, iPhone in Sprint, unfortunately, cant do that) Re: LTE in note 2. What happens if you go to settings > more settings > Network mode > and then select LTE/CDMA?
  19. In Mars you should have the better phone. Note 2 is one of the better phone in the market. Don't a mistake. Youtube, reading, features, pen, battery, ram, processor, accesories. In every aspect, note 2 is a very good and balance phone. I think is the better phone on Sprint (my wife said that if you have the opportunity to buy the iPhone and you doesn't you do not deserve the right to live in this world. OPINIONS!) But everybody has the right to choose the better phone for their needs. Trip to Mars are very long so I think you must have the best phone available.
  20. No osva hahaha . These guys need a little help! jetta for sure they're working in the network. In my case I wait like two or three weeks to see the stable results in the area. If you see and use 4g time ago, and now you see anything two things can be happen 1st) they are working in the Network (for sure) or 2nd) Your cell phone need some care, hahaha (I go for the first one because the Galaxy S3 is good!!!) In a new report. Yesterday the phone stock on 3g and Im sure I have 4g service in the area, so I solve the trouble turning on the airplane mode for few seconds and turn off and everything works fine again. Today I experience the same problem solve again with the airplane mode turn on turn off. Rare!!! right? and be aware of this!
  21. Do what egonadrian said, those instruction can fix your problem. In "Drive in Plaza", "Bayamón Oeste", "Plaza del Sol", you will find LTE working very good. "Río Hondo" is not working at 100% yet. But in Costco, when I make the test like two days ago is working fine. If you enter to "Tres Calles" and near those area LTE is available there. "Urbanización San Pedro (Toa Baja)" have LTE everywhere, and maybe "Madelaine" and some of the "Montecasino". For "Estancias de la Fuente" I think you need to wait a little more. But soon!!! Sprint are working fast. Tons of upgrade in Toa Baja and Bayamón in the last month. Sprint have the best customer service in the industry, unlimited and affordable plans (Compare to TMobile, Claro and AT&T), discounts for government employes and for private employees like those who works in Burger King, Sears etc. Roaming in Puerto Rico and US for data and voice, long distance, best visual voice mail, good cell phones (BlackBerry 10, Windows Phone 8, Galaxy S4 and next iPhone confirmed for this year), the ability to paid for Internet tethering start at $20 for 2gb (tmobile does not have this option in their unlimited data plan). If Sprint expand their LTE coverage to entire Island and solve the drop calls issue, theres no other better company to buy a cell phone. This is a not paid announcement hahaha. They need to subscribe more costumer because Sprint is the 5th company in Puerto Rico behind the 1st AT&T, 2nd Claro, 3rd T-mobile, 4th Open Mobile, 5th Sprint. Why? Because the junk network they have here. They suppose to be in the first three positions but they don't have good marketing either. This is gonna change!!! Sorry for the speech to all I just doing some free marketing (joking) IS TRUE!!
  22. Good news guys. Your patience will be reward. Now I have LTE in home. I always get more than 3mb. This morning I make some test and gets 13mb, 9mb, 8mb, 7mb, 6mb, 5mb everything haha. https://www.dropbox.com/s/8hnfxsnq1ksq2cn/Screenshot_2013-01-11-09-51-34.png Very good test. I check and see two data upgrades of few antennas close to the area. One is close to Hato Tejas, if you go to Costco in Street Number 2 in Bayamón you will see LTE. And other is close to Toa Baja - Toa Alta border. Is excellent! Please guys, just wait, is a very good service and is UNLIMITED!!!! My wife iPhone is force 3g sometimes, I always have 4g in home and she's not. Is rare!!! But she still believe that iPhone is the better piece of technology in human history haha. But Im super happy with the service. Time ago I wrote that the 4g is appear and disappear for like a week. Be patience everyone these guys are testing and installing the equipment. Is awesome!! When you start to see problems and 4g up ad down give like three weeks and you will see. I talk for 3 to 4 hours in home and I never experience a drop call with the new antennas. But when Im travel from Toa Baja to Rio Piedras two days ago I got like SIX drops. They stilll working with that I guess but is very annoying!!
  23. Hope you can see the link. This was in Pizza Hut in Bayamón Oeste Shopping Center. The speed is very consistent. Excellent. Go there enjoy a Pizza and the LTE speed. Awesome! Mery Christmas friends http://db.tt/zStJCSau
  24. Hi Guys. I don't know if I share this with you before. Those speed test are taken in the University of Puerto Rico at Río Piedras Campus close to Piñero Ave. SCREEN SHOT Sorry for the link. The system says that my global cuota is full. In Toa Baja the 3g speed is a little better, but 4g stop to work last week. I hope in January start work again. Today in Manatí my 3g stop working. And the phone freeze when switch from 4g to 3g close to the 48 exit in the 22 highway. Good night to everyone
