  1. hopefully not underwater yet!

I'm moving down at the end of may (St. Pete).  So how's band 41 and b26 coming along?  Doubtful we'll have spark update by then (before Google IO) so how is eCSFB working with .15 and b41/26??

thanks, looking foward to the weather!

I live in st. Pete and have found quite a bit of b26. Its been getting better every day it seems. My fastest download speeds so far are better than 76 megs down. (Obviously a lot higher than average).

  2. That is definitely going to be a crowd favorite.  The only question is if it will be spark enabled out of the box or not.

Look like I have a little more reading to do. But I do know its going to cost me $199. with a new contract. A bit more than the g2 or nexus5.

  3. Can't go wrong with the G2 considering the battery life it has.  Only place where the N5 doesn't keep up.  Not to say that the N5's battery life is bad, but it's about equal to my old Evo LTE. If you are buying off contract though the N5 is surely the only way to go.

I'm actually out of contract now so I'm a little gun shy on which phone to get. Has Sprint put out the spark update on either phone yet? I think that might be my deciding factor.

  4. If any of you guys haven't picked up the Nexus 5 yet, then I would highly recommend it.  The phone is top notch all around.  The camera and sounds issues were never really as bad most were leading them on to be, but have since been addressed in the latest update.

The performance of this phone in an area with as much LTE, not to mention band 41 LTE, should make you guys pretty happy.

I am on the bubble between the Nexus5 and the g2.

  5. If you have wifi this shouldnt matter. I have a wifi ac router and love the increased speeds from the G2.

I got wifi. I just find it funny that my wimax photon beat my sg3 in a speed test. I'm going to hang out to see how this sparkthing pans out. On the up side, I've never had a dropped call from either phone. I find that amazing considering all the work going on.

  6. I'm kinda getting frustrated with my lte. I was getting great speeds at my house a couple of months ago (16megs down peak was 33megs down). Now I get 2-3 down (if I'm in my driveway). When I call sprint, they tell me that the towers in my area are performing normally. My contract is up, and I'm kinda on the fence.

  7. This is being discussed in detail on another thread, but I thought you guys wouldn't want to miss this considering that Tampa is one of the launch city for it. Watcht the video:http://blog.laptopmag.com/sprint-spark-hands-on-1-gbpshttp://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4950-sprint-spark-official-name-for-the-tri-band-network-was-sprint-to-demo-its-25ghz-network-technology/page-5

When you say Tampa, do you mean Tampa, or Tampa market?

  8. I know what you mean I frequent all of those areas and for the most part its pretty bad.  Looks like there is still a site of 2 downtown St Pete that need to come on line and there is a giant coverage gap between 4th st and the Raymond James area.  What is it you are calling Northeast?

North of 62 ave n. From 275 all the way to the bay. Also shore acres area and snell island. The Riviera Bay area off of 83rd still has nothing. Even at North East high has slow 4G. (When I say slow, I mean under 2 megs down.) Even at my house I was getting 16 megs down inside my house when Sprint turned on the tower off of 30 ave n. and about 26th st. Now I get 3 megs down in my driveway.

  9. Can another sponsor check the maps but Pinellas county almost looks like all towers have been outfitted with LTE and actively broadcasting.  Maybe less than 10 are still not up yet?

I hope this isn't the case. The coverage in St. Pete still has major holes. North east is brutal at best. Nothing down on 54 ane south. Downtown lte is still super slow. I don't want to be Mr. Negative, but sprint has to get the lte coverage a lot better.

  10. So true.. I will say that Old Southeast though has pretty good coverage now. Awhile back I had to actually tether my phone to someone to get service. Not the case now. I was gonna ask Robert about it but I believe there is an additional site that's going to be downtown St PeteSent from my EVO using Tapatalk 4

I'm working off 4st n. and 92nd ave n. and I've noticed my phone has been getting 1 bar of service. Its also switched to roaming a time or two. I hope that's a good sign for the near future.

  11. I haven't posted in a bit, but still out there mapping daily.  Ok, so we're some roughly 60% done now, but still have some key areas like the airport and Ybor still having coverage issues.  Any other critical areas you thought would have been done by now that still need to be completed?

In St. Pete, east of 275 and south of Gandy still has major holes in coverage. The lte in downtown is all but useless.
