I thought this was common knowledge. AT&T and Verizon both included hot spot when they stopped doing unlimited and started offering their data share plans.

What are some milestones you guys would like to see by the end of 2015?
For me, complete VoLTE rollout, complete B26 LTE rollout and more rural coverage.
For me I would like Houston to be completely blanketed with b41 for a "Tokyo" like experience. Yeah I'm selfish.
-
Instead of refarming pcs spectrum, if they focused on filling in the gaps with additional towers or small cells it would help with both capacity and coverage. I'd rather see Sprint take this route. When Sprint starts launching additional b41 carriers for carrier aggregation I hope it's through small cells for increased coverage as well.

After the winner is determined, I don't think it'll be a bad idea Robert if you kept it for a week or two to test and also to validate the device on Sprint. I'm sure the winner wouldn't mind waiting an extra week or two.

Sprint already undercuts this today, for corporate-liable accounts. Even with just a single line. So it's not that much of a stretch for them to offer that pricing on the consumer side.
If they copied the corporate plan to consumer side as it exists today, that would make Unlimited Data + 3GB Tethering $45/month on Sprint (in comparison to Unlimited Data + 5GB Tethering at $50/month/line with two lines on TMO)
I suspect though, that it's more likely they'll just open up the existing $50/month Unlimited Data iPhone plan to non-iPhones. (and maybe finally add some tethering to it). No need give away that $5/month margin just yet.
I've checked Sprint's business site, and for a single line I see an unlimited plan for $65. Where do you see the plan you mentioned? I have an LLC that I might be able to take advantage of it when I add another line.

This is my concern as well.
The backend systems can barely handle the plans they have going on now. Things are really going to get messed up if everyone is getting a custom quoted price plan.
Plus, this brings a really weird "haggling" to the lineup too. If it becomes clear that the reps can just select a rate plan arbritarily, people are going to start pushing for the lowest one. Folks are going to feel cheated (because at some level, they are getting cheated.)
In fact, I bet the reps will do the haggling for them for the commissions -- similar to how most corporate Sprint stores just gave anyone who walked in off the street a $25/month rate plan on a random strangers Framily plan).
Sprint requires you to upload a copy of your bill, so this seems like a good idea to keep the front line reps from giving a better deal than what they actually qualify for.

NYC, Dallas, and Atlanta are not in CA.
AJ
Those are cities where Samsung is not the vendor, so I'm assuming only Samsung has started deploying/testing carrier aggregation? Just thinking out loud.

I like seeing b41 pop up more, but the weaker signal also means worse battery life. At my gym, my phone now floats between b41 and b26, with the b41 signal usually between 117-123dBm rsrp. Spending an hour at the gym I'll see my battery meter drop 15-20% when I'm done.
-
I hope when they deploy a second b41 channel that they do so with small cells or new towers/locations. When I get a b41 signal, even a low signal, I get more than usable speeds. I'd prefer more coverage with b41 than just speedtests when standing near a tower.

I'll try to make this brief.
Mom is having a horrible time with dropped calls at home on her G3. Seemingly no issues while travelling.
Her towers have upgraded backhaul. Currently they are 3G only.
I am visiting her this weekend and I hope to be able to see what is going on.
Her numerous calls to Sprint have concluded with a credit and a rep or supervisor telling her that it's a capacity issue on her home tower(s).
I'm not sure if she has setup wifi calling properly, but I'm going to try that. She has terrible 1.5mbps internet provided by windstream.
Are there any other setting on the phone that I could change that could possibly help this situation out?
She updates profile & prl a few times per week.
She does have SCP installed.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Wifi calling is as simple as turning on via the notification toggles. If it's the first time being set up it will ask you to put in an address for 911 emergencies, but after that you're good to go. As for the internet connection/speed, I don't know what kind of an effect it'll have on wifi calling.

We've already told you all the nine priority cities that Samsung itself is doing weeks ago: Indianapolis, Minneapolis, Detroit, Chicago, Denver, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, and Cleveland.
Under promise, over deliver.
I've seen that list, but I'm hoping Ericsson and Alcatel-Lucent will also have a few priority cities as well.
-
I was hoping they would announce the 3-5 cities that would've be showcased for a full b41 deployment.

With Tmobile acquiring lower 700mhz licenses, when do we expect to see band 12 and devices with band 12 in the wild?
-
Any more impressions on signal strength on b41? The FCC numbers for band 41 blow everything else out of the water and I wonder if it's like that in real world usage.
-
Updated to iOS 8.0.2. LTE signal seems to be much better. Cannot believe it is holding on LTE better than my HTC One M8. Picture taken of phone side to side showing their db on LTE.
Can you check to see what band you're on? That's a massive difference and I'd switch from my G3 for that alone.

So, I was looking at adding a 2nd line just for the iphone4life;
@ $35/month for 128g/6+ times 24 months = $840
and not keep the phone. to save $109.
or pay the extra $109 and keep the phone, to either resell and re-coop money or keep as backup/ipod or family hand me down.
Whereas the 16g/6 @ $20 times 24 months = only $480, to save $170 vs $650 full retail.
So if you plan to lease, it might be better to go with the basic 6/16gig, vs the maxed out 6+/128gig.
or just buy the phone (via easypay, contract, or put it on credit card) and sell it later when you upgrade.
So, in other words, the 'lease' you are still paying for ~75% of the device while keeping 0%, not to mention the additional costs of insurance you really should get in case you lose or break it and have to pay full price for it (assuming they do not pro-rate the pay off).
You also don't pay sales taxes on the full retail price when using the lease program. 8% typical sales tax on a $650 device is another $50 out of pocket should you choose to buy the phone. So saving $170 + $50 = $220, which isn't too bad for the convenience.

Sorry if already discussed, but any idea on what the 3-5 cities with denser Spark coverage will be?
I'm hoping Houston will be one of those cities. Houston is already further along than most other cities with b26 and b41, and since Sprint doesn't have enough spectrum to add a second pcs LTE carrier it would be a great way to alleviate congestion.

Nah, it was the popularity of the Evo and lack of investments that crippled the network.
This. I remember when I first got the Evo, my 3g speeds were decent (usually 600kbps -1mbs) but I was waiting for more Wimax coverage. Unfortunately Wimax was nothing but a bunch of hot spots around town and I saw my 3g speeds decline over the next 6 months until it became almost unusable in many places around Houston.

Sadly I belive most people these days are very use to timed promotions. I almost think "we like them", it does spawn competition though! Oh and currently even after the waived access fee promo ends the customer is saving about $100 for 20gb of data.
I think you might be on to something - similar to how cable and satellite companies will will have new customer promos. Hoping it won't be the case though.
-
The same thing with SERO, it was a pain trying to keep it. Got to the point that I gave up and went with the newer plan at the time.
TS
I had SERO back in the day, but when the original Evo 4g came out and it wasn't available on SERO plans yet I had to switch.

I have the same $45 framily plan with unlimited data, and I got this plan by going on Craigslist to go on someone else's framily ID that they were building up. I can tell you many of my friends would like the same plan that I have, but they don't want to go through the trouble of getting enough framily members.Framily is a group plan and an individual plan. A great many people have one individual line on their account under Framily pricing and pay just $45 for unlimited.
There is no possible way to spin the loss of the $45 unlimited everything price-point on Sprint as being a good thing.
EDIT: Here's a great way to tell these new price plans are terrible: not a single person will answer in the affirmative on the following.
Who has one line on a $25 1GB, $35 3GB, or $45 unlimited Framily plan and intends to switch to the new $60 individual plan?
Nobody? Nobody? Crickets?

I would worry about getting stuck on a shrinking framily too, sprint is going to keep framily but not actively push it. All the posters, rate plans and collateral that say framily have to go in the dumpster tonight. And there is that rumor that GorDon murdered the Frobinsons....
I'm on a framily plan, and while it would suck if people left and my bill became more expensive, I'll never be "stuck" on framily as I'm not in a contract and I could always change my rate plan with Sprint.

I'm on a maxed out framily plan (10 users), so this plan isn't for me. However, I do like that hotspot is now included in the data allotment, but at the same time overages should have gone away and replaced with throttling once data is exceeded. I would trade unlimited data for a big bucket of data, hotspot, and throttling.

I hate bulky cases too, but I use this slim snap on case that doesn't add very much bulk.
