I am pretty sure that there are a great number of G2 preorders. It is a great phone. The fact that Best Buy ran out of stock in the the model so soon shows that it is reasonably popular. That being said, I just don't get the obsession over the N5 when the hardware and design of the G2 seem to be better. But, to each their own.

This has always been the down fall of the nexus... though this time its only lacking the latest camera, larger screen, and the of course a decent sized battery

• 4.95" is just about the maximum size a phone can be before it becomes a tablet.

A bit later on... "Nexus 5 by LG is the first Android™ 4.4, KitKat, smartphone capable of using the tri-band Sprint 4G LTE² network."

Where is the "fail"? If you're gonna criticize, at least do it with some accuracy...

So a power hungry CPU/gpu and a 30% smaller battery appears to be your winner! I just questioned lte tri band knowing how the nexus 4 wasn't officially single band. But yes all other specs are similar to the S3

Spec wise the nexus appears weak..2200mah battery, 8mp camera, and only a 4.95" display.... Again the nexus fails in the spec department..also no word on "spark" support

I think we have to wait till November 8th... seems like the presale phone do not have correct parameters for connecting to let...even 1900 is hit or miss in areas that the note 2 can connect this phone will not

Just as an update for y'all, the LTE issues made me go back to my Galaxy Note II, but the touchscreen issues (multitouch showing phantom and multiple touches) made me send it back. It's too bad, it seems like a really nice device. Knockon (when it worked) is amazing.

 

Oh, and auto-brightness never worked either. But that's pretty minor.

Have you noticed any issues with camera skipping frames or slow to respond in low light..seems too loose frame rate? I haven't seen touch screen issues..I do have the issue with auto brightness not working correctly

What is this? I didn't notice anything funny about the G2 demo unit at Best Buy, but I haven't used the phone that much.

I only noticed it outside in sunlight they almost sparkle. I guess its a cheaper touch sensing system. Also dissent appear to be as accurate.. Could be the 1080p I don't know but I'm fat fingering a lot on this phone...especially websites with links near each other

Anyone noticed the phone emitting a high pitch sound at time. I didn't notice it until making phone calls but when its quiet I can here it or put the back of the phone to my ear.

These days, you always have to check for clean ESN/MEID/IMEI when buying off Craigslist or eBay.

 

I think people here are ethical. Unfortunately those who sell phones on those online places like Craigslist or eBay, not so much.

 

Just be careful guys.

The only way I'm aware of is by trying to activate the device through sprint...mine had no issues with this

Just don't want to sign a contract...all but 1 phone is out of contract..if the tri band works I will renew the other 3. But as of now there is no reliable data service where I live..until I can get band 41 to work on this phone to test since ltd conversion of wimax towers near me should be completed end of this year

I am just kidding. Kind of. I've used craigslist before, too. But generally speaking, a missing back plate, especially on such a new device, is very fishy. When you get a replacement from a manufacturer, it is usually without the back plate. Also, a display model is generally locked by its back plate. It just seems like someone either committed some sort of scam to get a replacement phone shipped from LG or a display got swiped. It doesn't help that the seller didn't disclose this issue with you and instead chose to hide the issue with a case.

Yes and I was a bit excited to get it... Hoping to have tri-band...just verified esn via activating on sprints site....then later taking phone out of case....fail

I have replaced most of the phones on my account with craigslist phones. Never had an issue before..but first one that wasn't complete

I'd like to know what runs to back...seems to be 3 antennas.. NFC..GPS?.. And a 3rd? I ordered one from Spain on eBay that has the same layout for connections
