  1. Went to a Reds game in late April. 30000 fans. No problems with 3G.

Went to a Reds game last Thursday, 25000 fans. Full bars but 3G didn't work at all. Nor did it work across the pond in Covington.

    Sure signs of progress...

Maybe that's the issue on the west side...except 3g just doesn't work no matter what time it is... Here is hoe in July

  2. I am new to rooting and ROMing. If I decide to try a different ROM or go back to stock, what is the safest way to do that?

Look for the LG flash utility and the TOT file for the ls980. This will wipe entire device and restore to which ever rev you load. Also backup you efs...This is done when you use ioroot 25 to root your phone...put it in a safe spot and you will be good no matter what happens

  3. No problem in my part of Fairfield. Calls and LTE have been consistent.

From port union to muhlhauser I'll drop a call and from muhlhauser to 275 on ramp I'll drop a call...could be a tri band phone thing....

Looks like a laser auto focus for camera on back..had an old Sony camera that had this

LG how did you know, I had one simple request. And that is to have a phone with frickin' laser beams attached to the back!

Looks like two different color led flashs.. Or is it a hear raye monitor? Referring to the right hand side only.. Left is suppose to be the infrared remote

  4. I don't see the benefit of postpaid since they are giving the same benefits to prepaid... Other than unlimited data.. Though in my area its impossible to abuse the data with 0.01kbps .. I have only used 180 megs in the past 30 days

  5. The east and north-east is starting to get constant LTE coverage. Still not use to seeing the LTE symbol but it is staying connected longer and longer and without airplane toggle! :D

Yeah.. Have a coworker who lives north and has had usable service.. Then he had a meeting downtown and couldnt believe how bad it was.... Tick tick tick July is getting closer

  6. I have never put my phone in LTE only mode and I have had this. I never understood why all the talk about this.

Yes its only for spark enabled phones. Some of the towers in Cincinnati are not broadcasting csfb so only single band phones will stay connected to lte. On spark phones you have to force lte to stay connected to these towers..granted you loose phone call capabilities when doing this

  7. I was driving through Elmwood Place on Monday and picked up LTE (likely B25) on my tri-band S4 mini. I even made a test call, [e]CSFB seemed to be working good. LTE cut out to dial and talk (as it's supposed to), but after I ended the call my phone went right back to LTE. Most places I go (home, work, Kroger, etc.) I can only get LTE if I am in LTE only mode. It may not really be news to anyone, but it was nice to have LTE working properly with stock settings.

    That's been up for awhile

  8. Dang that's unfortunate. Through root maybe? Or no? I guess if rooted I could flash back to a jelly bean ROM and force it that way?? Hmm.....

You can get the tot for zva and flash that way... Or wait for custom kit kat roms....

  9. incorrect. did u even try it? :P

setting "cdma" in the mobile network settings is actually setting cdma/evdo.

I did.. Thanks.. for some reason i thought i read that it disabled evdo...

  10. Mobile Networks > Network Mode... and set to CDMA instead of Global or LTE/CDMA.

As for KitKat... I've found ZVC to be great. Battery life is good... reception on B25/B41 is good. Seems GSM performs a bit better even. My G2 will never touch JB 4.2.2 again ;)

I thought this disabled evdo or something and you had to go through the advanced menu and select the cdma w/ option

  11. So how do we disable lte and force 3g cdma only because its killing my battery...the towers near me do not support csfb so i am without signal every few minutes when it trys and connects to lte
