Look for the LG flash utility and the TOT file for the ls980. This will wipe entire device and restore to which ever rev you load. Also backup you efs...This is done when you use ioroot 25 to root your phone...put it in a safe spot and you will be good no matter what happensI am new to rooting and ROMing. If I decide to try a different ROM or go back to stock, what is the safest way to do that?

You do realize no one is using the band right now. . Once there is some traffic it will be like the 1900 is now pulling about 1mbps

No problem in my part of Fairfield. Calls and LTE have been consistent.
From port union to muhlhauser I'll drop a call and from muhlhauser to 275 on ramp I'll drop a call...could be a tri band phone thing....

Fairfield has been horrible the last few weeks.. Dropping calls like crazy.. I assume it's the new Samsung hardware not handing off to the old Motorola or vice versa

I don't see the benefit of postpaid since they are giving the same benefits to prepaid... Other than unlimited data.. Though in my area its impossible to abuse the data with 0.01kbps .. I have only used 180 megs in the past 30 days

If anything it will help in areas where there Is b41
I have to disagree. Look at AT&T and Verizon, their prepaid only allows access to 3g so their LTE doesn't get jammed up... And they don't have unlimited

New announcement that Boost and Virgin Mobile are offering Spark. What effect will this have on Sprints already overloaded network?

Yeah.. Have a coworker who lives north and has had usable service.. Then he had a meeting downtown and couldnt believe how bad it was.... Tick tick tick July is getting closerThe east and north-east is starting to get constant LTE coverage. Still not use to seeing the LTE symbol but it is staying connected longer and longer and without airplane toggle!

Yes its only for spark enabled phones. Some of the towers in Cincinnati are not broadcasting csfb so only single band phones will stay connected to lte. On spark phones you have to force lte to stay connected to these towers..granted you loose phone call capabilities when doing thisI have never put my phone in LTE only mode and I have had this. I never understood why all the talk about this.

That's been up for awhileI was driving through Elmwood Place on Monday and picked up LTE (likely B25) on my tri-band S4 mini. I even made a test call, [e]CSFB seemed to be working good. LTE cut out to dial and talk (as it's supposed to), but after I ended the call my phone went right back to LTE. Most places I go (home, work, Kroger, etc.) I can only get LTE if I am in LTE only mode. It may not really be news to anyone, but it was nice to have LTE working properly with stock settings.

You can get the tot for zva and flash that way... Or wait for custom kit kat roms....Dang that's unfortunate. Through root maybe? Or no? I guess if rooted I could flash back to a jelly bean ROM and force it that way?? Hmm.....

Nooo... I dont want touchwiz lag..Looks like they're copying Samsung again for the UI.

EDIT: Not saying it's bad - but I am somewhat disappointed that bigger companies wont try a new design. :S

It does seem worse than my note 2...could it be a triband issue on the hand off?

Havent had 4g since the sg2... And on the lg g2 we lost the ability to force LTE with the kit Kat update..... No more 4g since the towers arent csfb near me

I did.. Thanks.. for some reason i thought i read that it disabled evdo...incorrect. did u even try it?
setting "cdma" in the mobile network settings is actually setting cdma/evdo.

I thought this disabled evdo or something and you had to go through the advanced menu and select the cdma w/ optionMobile Networks > Network Mode... and set to CDMA instead of Global or LTE/CDMA.
As for KitKat... I've found ZVC to be great. Battery life is good... reception on B25/B41 is good. Seems GSM performs a bit better even. My G2 will never touch JB 4.2.2 again
