  1. Just ran a speed test: Ping: 252 Download: 222 kbps Upload: 28 kbps It took me around 2 hours to download a 29.98 MB file from the Play store. And this is MUCH faster than I've been getting from where I sit at work for the past month or so. I'm a sad panda. This is from Garfield Heights, OH (by the 480/77 split)
  2. So, my network speed has been so ridiculously slow for the past month or so that I've barely been able to use it. Pandora on 3G skips pretty regularly (which it never did before), and during the day, I'm lucky to break .3 Mbps while OUTSIDE. I'm more than a little ticked off, and am wondering what happened. My 3G connection was rock solid all last year and the year before, but not it's almost unusable. I'm going to call into customer care today and let them know that we're suffering from bad connection in the Cleveland area. It probably won't get me anywhere, but I'm going to try to get some answers about NV rollout. If this doesn't ease up soon, I'm going to try to get out of my contract. Unlimited data doesn't do me ANY good if I can't download anything. I'll post back here if I find anything out. In the meantime, anyone have any idea what's going? Or, are you having a similar experience?
  3. So, we're not in the latest press release of coming cities yet. :-( Bummer. I got excited when I ran a speed test back home and hit 1.6 Mbps. Must have been a fluke? Though I've hit 1.5 a few times (always in the evening).
  4. Thanks Dk, I'll keep an eye out. It's just weird, because I never experienced data inconsistency like this before in this area. *shrug*
  5. Me too! I tested yesterday morning and got a whopping 23 kbps down. Later in the afternoon I was at 300, and I'm at 17 right now (all from my desk). That's pretty freaking inconsistent, and I've never had problems like that here before. Oh, and I'm getting 15 up. I'm also getting 376 ping right now, which is surprising low for a 17 kbps connection. Tested again (immediately following the first test, same server, and I'm getting 284 ping, 516 kbps down, and 29 kbps up. Something seems wonky to me? For reference's sake, I'm right at the "corner" of Transportation and 480.
  6. No, I get 3G, it's just REALLY slow. 300 kbps down is pretty much my peak. I know that LTE is getting deployed separately across the 3G network rather than replacing the WiMax network. Thank you for the info anyway. :-)
  7. Well, I upgraded my phone . . . I had NO idea how much I would miss WiMax now that I'm relegated to 3G only. I get virtually no 3G signal in my office (though WiMax was pretty strong). *sigh* Hurry it up Sprint! I take it no one has any news on the NE Ohio rollout?
  8. It's happening in Parma near the Parmatown Mall, and like I said, it's just started. I've seen 4 to 5 disconnects in the past 3 days or so, and that's just weird. I get better service (3G and voice) than my friend does on Verizon in this area--it's been really solid. If we've got eHRPD going that's a pretty good sign, right? :-) Also, I've noticed that my 3G speeds have stepped up to about 1.5 Mbps down, which is quite a bit faster than before. But that's late at night. I just ran a test (5:07 PM) and am getting 761 kbps down (which is still isn't bad for the time of day).
  9. Here's another noob question. Today and yesterday we started getting sporadically dropped calls. It's not often, and the signal comes back almost instantly. Is this commonly the kind of behavior to expect during or prior to a vision update, or is it just a fluke. We usually get very good coverage here (better than Verizon), so its a little weird.
  10. Noob here. I looked through and couldn't find a good existing thread to throw this on, so if I missed something, please go easy on me. I bought my wife an Optimus G last night and was talking to the Sprint salesman AFTER I made the purchase (no extra incentive to sell it to me) about LTE rollout in the Cleveland area. He said that the last time an exec was in town, they confirmed that we'd be getting LTE in the 1st quarter of 2013. I took that with a big grain of salt, but was wondering what the vibe is around here. You guys seem to know a lot. Any info? Quick edit: this would seem to back up the master list of announced roll-out communities. (I kept reading). So, I guess add this to some of the evidence you've already gathered? :-) By the way, awesome site guys--I think I'm going to love it here.
