  1. I'm considering switching to at&t. I have only been with sprint for about 6 weeks but the speeds are just not doing it for me since I came from t-mobile 4g HSPA, like I can't even check my voicemail. I'm afraid that this rollout in Daytona is going to take till the end of the year, maybe past that. Should I stay though, and are there any towers in Port Orange that are just waiting for backhaul ?

I would wait. It is going to come soon, and unlimited data when its up on a beautiful LTE network is going to be worth the wait, especially if you use your device a lot. My girlfriend has AT&T and while I am envious that her LTE speeds are better than mine at the moment, she cant watch Netflix or things like that nearly as much as I can with unlimited. Half the time I need to tether so she can use it.

  2. I think it must be a tower near the mall because my service has been sucking really bad in that area. And I don't think it's from the Sanford tower cause it seem like the antennas and point towards lake cause I live 2 miles east of it and can't get any LTE. But if u go two west towards Lake Mary Blvd u still get LTE

Is the tower by the mall live? I didn't think it was up yet, but havent been that way in a little

  3. FYI-got an Lte signal and mapped along the lakefront in Sanford from French Ave to near the zoo.

I am going to guess you picked up signal from the tower on Sanford Ave, which SEEMS to be getting stronger (I blieve it got another upgrade) because I am in Lake Mary (by SCC) and I get decent LTE outside my house (about 8 down/2 up)

  4. So I was just about to call it a night and go to bed, I look at my phone and it said "4G". My heart dropped for like a split second and I was like "YEEESSSSS, IT FINALLY CAME!!". But after 5 seconds of bliss, it switched right back to 3G, and I was like "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" I toggled airplane mode and PRL at least 6 times and it didn't come back. I was actually thinking of driving to the tower and see if it would come back. Then i thought to myself, "Its 4am in the morning, it's FREEZING outside, it can wait." But hey, I'm guessing Lte will be up for the west side of Lake Mary maybe sometime next week instead of the middle of next month (which isn't really long from now, but still). Here's to hoping those 5 seconds were real instead of me hallucinating.

Where abouts in Lake Mary? Over by SCC (which I guess is techincally Sanford) we have LTE. I get it on Country Club as well, and as far as to Rinehart, and even down Rinehart some.

  5. Hello everyone!! I'm recently new here, but I've been following this topic for quite some time now. I've been keeping a close eye to Kmshadoze's posts since I live in Lake Mary as well. I'm on the west side of town right next to I-4. I live very close to the Lake Emma Rd/I-4 tower (about a mile away) and luckily, I got to speak to one of the operators around 5pm today (I think their company name was "Western Towers" or something like that I didn't look at their logo). I asked him, "Is this a Sprint tower you're working on?" he said, "Yeah we just got clearance to work on this tower and install 4G" (I knew there was a birds nest up there so they needed to get approval). To cut the story short, he told me some good news and some bad news. The good news is installation will be done at least by Friday or by Monday. The bad news is that LTE won't be turned on till the middle of next month, he told me I have to wait till the Samsung or Ericsson vendors to come out and inspect it, but it could be before then. Once everything goes through, they'll switch it on........ At least it's not JULY now so it's ok, I can wait a little longer. Until then I cant wait, I will post speed tests once they turn it on. I drive around Orlando a lot as well and will track new areas with LTE via Sensorly if it hasn't been discovered yet.

Interesting to know. I am glad to hear that. I wonder what happen to the birds nest. The thing was HUGE, it covered the entire top of the tower, but glad to see no longer an issue. When I was there, the guy was telling me the LTE was installed already and just needed to run it up the tower and turn it on. Either way, I too am glad itll be done before July, that tower will give really good LTE coverage to the Lake Mary area.

  6. Have a feeling another tower in Sanford went live. I walked outside and had really good 4G, usually only 1 bar, or 4 bars 3g (depending on tower I connect too) but had full LTE bars and got a 25mbs down speed test. going to try and go to tower site I believe it is and look (by Seminole Courthouse on 17-92 in Sanford)

Yeah, Only part of LM and LM Blvd have it. I have been trying to map as much as possible, but my points dont been seeming to show up.. getting kinda pissed!!!!!!!

  8. Also since you are on that wonderful FreeGS3 ROM (being sarcastic), we had a member in the NOLA market do an entire day of 4G mapping only to have absolutely ZERO of his points show up on Sensorly. It seems the Dev of this ROM thought it would be cute to change the network name so Sensorly throws all the points to the curb instead of putting them on the map.

So before you map anything with Sensorly please make sure it goes up on the map before spending time mapping your area out.

Yeah, I notice this. I mapped my neighbor hood out and it didnt show =/ but mapped SCC and it showed. So not sure if someone else mapped it. I love this ROM but may have to switch to another one =/

  9. Did a speed test by the Seminole County Courthouse this morning, and got VERY good speeds. 17mb up/ 6.5 down. Its still a good distant from that Sanford Ave. tower, so I am guessing the tower is HUGE like the Oviedo one. Also mapped about 200 points of LTE in the Sanford/Lake Mary area.

  10. Thank You. I'm not seeing any spots mapped By SSC

Anytime, and thats odd. I wonder how long it takes for it to show up. I am about to go out and do some more Mapping. Going to Mall area, and then Rinehart road (well see if it reaches there) will report my findings after and take some speedtests

tried to post a picture but its not working . Can somebody tell me how?

You need to upload the picture to imgur.com and then post the link.

Also, is the Lake Mary area (Mainly around Seminole State College) showing up for you that it was mapped? For some reason when I look at Sensorly it takes a couple of days before its actually loaded and annoys me (like ill look at my phone and have a different map than if I was looking at my girlfriends phones, and hers in more updated.. cant figure out why..)

  12. Hey guys, I am trying to see if anyone is having a same issue as me. LTE just came to my area and I will be standing in a spot that has LTE doing speed tests. It will toggle me back to 3G, and then I will have to toggle airplane mode to get back to LTE. Has anyone has a similar problem, and if so, what did you do to fix it? Also, another thing I noticed while doing speedtests, my phone showed that I was on 3G, but when I looked at the results of the speed test, it showed me as being on LTE.. I am rooted running the FreeGS3 ROM. I am not sure if this may be the issue or not. I know that EVO LTE's seemed to have this issue in the past, but I have NEVER seen or heard of someone having the issue with the S3 (and yes, I did google around)

  13. The tower near Sanford Ave got a upgrade. There's LTE all up and down Sanford Ave. It reaches 17-92. On Sprint Upgrade site it has a total of 2 data speed upgrades for the tower. I went by there Monday and took pictures. I took many speed test and they all were around 5-8 down. But at one spot I did get over 26. At the mall now and I go one bar. I took screen shots.

Nice, its at the mall finally too? I was getting 3-4 bars all through my neighborhood and through Seminole State College. I am very pelased about this. I suspect that another tower has gone live. I have a feeling I was picking up the one by the Courthouse, but I am not 100% sure about that. I was able to map 215 4G points, 107 3G points. I had to toggle Airplane mode a couple times which annoyed me, but I am glad to see it FINALLY here!!!!!

  14. Wow haven't been on this weekend and now Sanford has some LTE love

    Where did you spot LTE?!?

Edit: I checked out Sensorly, and saw it by LM Blvd and 1792 which is by me, so I took a walk around my neighborhood adn through Seminole State College (aka SCC) and mapped 215 points of LTE. Best speed test I was able to get was 8.19mbs down and 2.09 up. I am ASSUMING the tower by the Courthouse has gone live, as well as another one considering I saw on Sensorly LTE going all the way down 17-92. I too hadn't checked it out in a few days and then was getting it today. I had to toggle Airplane mode a couple of times when it switched me to 3G then went straight back to 4G.. Not sure on why it is doing that yet. This was mapped on my S3, I am going to do some more mapping tomorrow on my Note 2 and see if I have the same problems.

  15. That sucks but I total understand protect the birds. Did you happen to ask if they were working on any other towers in the area.

The guy at that tower was working for the City, so he really did not know much (I think he was checking on the birds more than anything lol) but, I went around to the other towers in the Lake Mary area, saw no cars/trucks/people, however saw some equipment at them (one by David Maus Toyota, and one by Courthouse) that looked identical to the stuff I saw at the site on Lake Emma, that the guy told me was the LTE stuff, and luckily I did not see any birds nest at the top of the towers either! So, I have a feeling that they are going to be working on those 2 towers here in the near future. I am going to go back to those 2 sites on Monday and see if I can see anyone there and be able to talk to them.

Edit: But, I MAY be wrong, so dont hold me to this, I am just stating what I was able to see.
