  1. Did any of you map the area in Marina del Rey on Sensorly? I noticed that Lincoln Blvd, between Washington Blvd and the 90, was not covered. That seems a tad odd to me that the area in question doesn't have LTE coverage with the nearby areas surrounding other NV-completed towers having LTE coverage.

Then again, how much do I really need to know about LTE coverage since I am still 7+ months away from my renewal date. LOL

  2. You can go to Settings > About > Status and look at signal strength. In places where the signal is better than -95dBm, you will likely get LTE when the build out is complete.

Oh I know - I just never bothered to look when I'm outside ;P

  3. You will likely not get LTE inside your home then. What is your signal like outside? Although, none of us really need LTE inside our home, because of WiFi. But it would be nice to have once we step outside.

I don't know the dBm level, but I usually get about 3 bars outside. At least the closest tower is now NV upgraded.

  4. It's not that LTE doesn't penetrate as well, it is that LTE is not usable with as weak of a signal. LTE 1900 and CDMA 1900 will be the same signal strength at the same distance from the same site. However, LTE maxes out around -95dBm RSSI and CDMA will go to about -105dBm. And going indoors usually results in a 8 to 10dBm signal loss. And even more with some types of buildings.

Also, there is a good chance that the tower that you are connected to 3G to is closer than the tower you are connected to LTE on.

This is very disappointing news. I am averaging -105dBm in my house right now.
