Just drove through the LTE on 275. Tried to map it a little more.

Funny thing about my speeds is it almost felt like there was no backhaul to the site. My speeds never got above 3mbs

Now let get some lte in Brandon or on sligh buy 301 or the school on sligh I work right across the street from school

Not sure what you mean 'are there others.' iPhone users can't map the signal because Apple blocks access to the information.

That, and so it can support that LTE network. Without faster backhaul in place, there is no LTE.

 

 

The Network Vision overhauls are putting better backhaul in place. The current internet sources for Sprint sites are too slow to keep up with demand, so they are putting in mostly fiber and microwave sources to provide much faster internet speeds and greater bandwidth to accommodate more users. So in that sense, the new backhaul will make your connection faster.

 

 

I'm not really sure what you're not understanding here. Every cell site in the country has some sort of backhaul in place that is used for phone calls, texts, and data. Without it, there IS no phone.

 

 

Another analogy would be:

The cell site is like your home wireless router. You can power it up and connect to it with devices, but without the internet cord hooked up to it, the router is mostly useless.

 

Without backhaul, the cell site will not allow calls, texts, internet etc...

Think of it as the Ethernet cord that connects the cell towers to the internet.

I certainly hope so. That entire area is in desperate need of new backhaul and additional carriers. And forget about inside the mall.

Sad to say but I have not seen anything in Brandon either come to think of it.

I wants to share this screen shot of speeds I got on 3G in Westshore Plaza on Kennedy. Does this mean that LTE is near.. 2 Mbps down!!
