1.

Soon! I don't know if you saw my post a couple of days ago, but the tower behind Perkins has NV panels installed already. That tower alone covers my apt, commute, and job so I'll be pretty happy when it's done.

I must have missed that post. Which Perkins was it
  2. You only get it on the North side of the 6th floor? I would say that's for sure the LOL tower then. As a USF student I was getting my hopes up of having LTE on campus. OH well....

I walked to the West side and the South side, and no 4G. Sorry... I can also confirm that there is no LTE coverage at the Hooters across from the Hospital... ;)

  3. I was just on the 6th floor of Florida Hospital Tampa again tonight & was able to pickup and stay connected to LTE once again. The room faces North. I got 'screenshots' of my Sensorly showing my location & the 4G icon. I went to my LTE Engineering screen ang got what I hope us the info that shows what tower I was connected to. I'm guessing the LOL/SR54 Tower, as I've never been able to pick up the tower supposedly live @ Fowler & 50th St. I ran speed tests of around 8-9mbps down, and up to ~1.5mbps down.

  4. Who do we have on this thread that doesn't live in St. Pete or Brandon lol? Got a lot of you guys out there finding stuff left and right but i'm surprised nothing has lit up in the general Tampa area yet.

I am primarily in N Tampa/ S Pasco. But, I my work has me travel Florida almost constantly. I just have been in vacation/holiday break a lot and work slows down at this time of year. I'll be mapping hot & heavy soon...

  5. It is possible to get LTE at the hospital on the 6th Floor from the Land O Lakes site if you were on the north side proximate to a window. It's about 8 air miles away and you would have LOS to that tower. But it may also be a site closer by that has come live as well.

There is one sure fire way to tell. Check the LTE Engineering screen Cell ID in the hospital on the 6th floor and on the same sector closer to Land O Lakes tower. If they are the same...BINGO. You have a winner. :)

Robert, I was at the hospital last night, and couldn't pickup LTE at all. I also was not able to detect LTE from the Land O Lakes tower, nor the tower at 50th Street and Fowler in Tampa. I am not sure if there is an issue with my phone, or if the towers were not transmitting LTE last night. I power cycled, and even tried going to CDMA mode, then back to LTE/CDMA mode. But, still no LTE. The sad thing was, I was running Sensorly as I passed both areas, and while at the hospital, so I was bummed to not get any mapping data. I actually had dinner right in the shadow of the 50th St and Fowler Tower. I was there for an hour, and had nothing but 3G. Same for my wife, and her iPhone 5...

On the bright side, I pulled out my DSLR and got some pictures of the towers up near my home. I will post pics when I have a minute...

  6. After first spotting workers at noon, they were still up on the tower connecting NV panels and RRUs after 5:30PM. This is TA54XC002, a mile west of SR54. You can see the cables being run up from the ground.

I drove by this tower again after dark. I could see green lights on the RRUs slowly blinking (maybe once every second or two). Here is a picture from my phone.

It was pitch black out, so I used the 'low light' setting in the camera to lighten the picture. You can very faintly see at possibly two RRUs with green lights lit. The RRUs are above and to each side of the large red light near the bottom.

Hello Robert. I won't likely be back at the hospital again for a couple of days. But, I'd be willing to have a look at the 'LTE Engineering Screen' when I do. How would I get to the LTE engineering screen to get the info about the cell ID?

  8. Actually there now is a small blip on Sensorly near 30th and Fletcher at the hospital.

I got two points in the hospital to map, and almost immediately saw them show up in Sensorly. So, you may be seeing my 4G mapping. It would be just to the East of the Bruce B Downs & Fletcher intersection. Or, right where the hospital is...

  9.

No that has to be from the tower I just spotted at 50th and Fowler! I'm close so I'll try to map it tomorrow.

Possibly. However, I drove all the way East down Fletcher from the hospital to I-75, running the LTE Discovery app, and never got 4G. Even at 50th street & Fletcher. And, I suspect that I may have been just as close to that tower, as I was to the LOL tower, as the crow flies that is. Either way, that was pretty impressive to get 4G that far from any 4G towers. It must have been because we were up so high, on the 6th floor...

  10. Also, I was just at University/Florida Hospital in Tampa @ Fletcher & Bruce B Downs, visiting a sick relative. My phone and my wife's iPhone 5 got LTE 4g, but only in the patient room on the 6th floor. I mapped it on Sensorly. I got 4G at no other place around the area. I'm guessing we possibly picked up the LOLakes tower???

  12.

I just passed this tower, and I believe there are new NV panels with RRUs on it. I couldn't stop due to being late for something. I will make a trip to take a closer look at the tower as soon as I have some free time, and daylight...

Once again, I was in a rush, but was able to get some quick pictures of work in progress on this tower as i drove by. There were trucks parked at the base of the tower & workers up near the panels. I do believe I see NV panels and RRUs. This is TA54XC002. A mile west of Morris Bridge Rd on SR54 in Wesley Chapel.

  13. Any way to get info on the NV upgrade status of the tower near my house? TA54XC002. I took some pictures of it today. I don't think I see NV panels or RRUs, but I'm no expert...

  14. To quote the Sensorly site: "Maps update at least once a day at all zoom levels."

Technically, we both could be correct... However, All of the activity I quoted was from a less than a roughly 1 hour time frame. I mapped, uploaded, comments were made about 4G on I75, and I responded. All on the same afternoon. I mapped the next night, uploaded, and saw the updates right away as well. Same for other mapping trips. So, I am not sure if an update has done something, or the Sensorly servers are slow...

  15. First time poster. Just did my first Sensorly mapping. I live in Wesley Chapel, and drive through Land 'O Lakes daily. I mapped 4G on I75 North of Fletcher all the way up to SR56. I also mapped behind the Dodge Dealer on SR54 W of SR56. I also mapped 4G down County Line Road, then West on Collier Parkway. The 4G dropped of at SR41 @ Collier Pkwy. I then drove N on SR41 and got 4G starting just S of SR 54. I drove back East on SR54 and the 4G was strong. I turned N at the SR54 & SR56 fork. The 4G dropped soon afterwards... I was in Orlando and Cocoa today too, & got 4G there as well. I may post more later...

  16. I've also had my phone crash before completing most of my updates, reboot, then not have any data to upload. Kinda like it lost the updates on the crash/reboot... It happened to me yesterday. It was very frustrating, because I'd mapped an area during my lunch break, and it all went 'poof'...
