  1. I used to notice a similar situation on AT&T when I went to the state fair - I'd have great signal strength but with hundreds of thousands of people all using their smartphone simultaneously tweeting how delicious the food was it just brought the network to its knees.  I don't know what the attendance of the game was tonight but I know that they're still rolling out LTE downtown so they're not 100% yet.

  2. 4G is live in Bloomington off the Highland bank cell at 100 and W 84th!

I noticed that - I posted that yesterday in several subforums on this site yesterday. I ate lunch 90 feet from the antennas wednesday and they were still on 3G so it must have been that night or thursday morning.

That's 5 LTE sites in Bloomington now. Now we just need to get central Bloomington filled in.

  3. Cross out what I said before about 3G guys! The tower I usually connect to went down all of friday, until around 8 P.M. I was so mad I didn't have 3G.. But then... A miracle happened... POOF! 3G was back on. So, being me, I speed test it. 2.4 down 1.12 up!!! I was like... OMGUIAWHIDUEHAIUHEIUFHSH! So, this being said, we finally got the network vision/3G upgrade in my area. I have not going under .90 down, and I only got .9 because i just rebooted my phone. I am now averaging 1.6 - 2! Loving it soo much!! :D

Actually that's not Network Vision - that's just upgraded backhaul to 3G.  I routinely get 2.4 meg downloads at my in-laws place.

But THIS is what you can expect from full LTE/network vision:

  4. I see you used some shots I took - cool!  OK I have a question - it sure seems to be that there are different sized cabinets for NV.  Are there also different sized legacy cabinets?  I see a couple cabinets locally that may be one or the other  - usually it's easier to tell because the legacy stuff is dingier and dirtier but ....

  5. Some new LTE blips in Bloomington near 98th and Rich Road - I know the site. It's right behind Famous Dave's there.

The last time I was near there a week or two back I saw new cabinets on the ground but across the roadway from where the actual site is. To me, they didn't look like Sprint cabinets - they looked like electrical equipment boxes for something else but may be involved at this site.

I'll check this on my lunch hour.

I also see light blips near 79th Street and 494 near Southtown Shopping Center and another near 76th and Girard across the freeway. This COULD be slop from the new site near the MOA but it just as easily could be a new site.

    Exciting times, these!

  6. I've noticed that too - usually over time it fills in at all zoom levels. But sometimes you have to zoom way in to see anything. That's way sometimes I zoom in on an area where there isn't anything but then I find something. Odd but...

For what it's worth I was able to get that LTE signal until just past the new Cedar Avenue Bridge going westbound - right at the intersection involving old Cedar Avenue.

  7. AND there's also signs of more new Sensorly hot steaming purple action in Eagan near yet another office of my company: if anyone is familiar with the Lebanon Hills mountain bike trail there's some purple that shows along a line roughly following South Robert Trail.

So it's basically straight south from Cliff Road and South Robert Trail south until a little south past 125 St. W and makes it almost to Kegan Lake.

I've ridden my mountain bike at that park but sometimes would walk around the trails on my lunch hour when working at the office near there. Nice to know I could get LTE while doing so.

I see a couple other spots but I'll leave that for another day.

  8. Verified. Came in from the northeast side, then west on Killebrew then north on 77. Maxed out around 26 megabits down, abut 8 megabits up.

It seemed to drop quickly as I sped past Ikea so I surmise this is on the roof of the Mall or maximized to cover the majority of the mall and the parking areas nearby.

  9. Update: I see a new strong blip of LTE in Sensorly right near the Mall of America - the south and west sides of the mall. I'll head over there to see what I can find. Signal is too far away and too strong to be slop from St. Paul. Both Highway 77 and Killebrew drive. Signal is particularly strong at Killebrew.

  10. It's really far if all the fire breaks in your building are made of stainless steel or the like. One of our buildings had a dentist as a tenant and the fire breaks to keep x-rays from leaving the dentist office space played serious havoc on another tenants wifi. "Welcome to the faraday cage".

  11. We should take this conversation to the sponsor section actually.

BUT - the tower is easily enough determined - it's directly across from the American Boulevard Home Depot in Bloomington adjacent to the railroad tracks and the storage facility.

If you have access to the sponsor section you can determine the tower ID from the information provided sponsors.

    Is that better?
