  1. Nope, not the presumed Samsung Galaxy S6 nor the expected iPhone 6S.  The earliest that the Snapdragon 810 (MSM8994) will make it into consumer handsets is sometime in the second half of next year.  An LG G4 and a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 are potential candidates.  And you will not ever find a Snapdragon chipset in an iPhone -- because Apple uses its own ARM based processors.

The article states that "The Snapdragon 810 processor with Category 9 support is anticipated to be available to our customers in early 2015" so there is a possible chance Samsung could include it in their new flagship device in a chance to put a one-up on the iPhone 6/6 Plus.

I never said the iPhone would incorporate that chip into it although I can see the confusion in my wording. I was merely stating that the technology is being introduced and the big phone makers will be able to release new devices with the Carrier Aggregation capability.

  2. "Many 800 MHz licensees along the U.S.-Mexico border are required to relocate to new frequencies as part of the transition from the current band plan to the new band plan. This includes virtually all licensees operating within the Sharing Zone in the NPSPAC regions bordering Mexico and licensees operating outside of the Sharing Zone in the NPSPAC regions bordering Mexico. The affected regions are Southern California (NPSPAC Region 5), Arizona (NPSPAC Region 3), New Mexico (NPSPAC Region 29), Texas – El Paso (NPSPAC Region 50), and Texas – San Antonio (NPSPAC Region 53)."

  3. Unless the site was a GMO (or in the IBEZ) then yes the equipment is already there. If you look at the spotting guides and then look at some of your local sites you should be able to confirm this.

You must not have realized where you are posting...this is the San Antonio market thread. It is entirely affected by the IBEZ.

I really wish I had the extra cash to be a premier sponsor so I could get all that great info. In any case I'll just have to wait but I do have one question. Without getting into specifics is it safe to assume that the equipment is in place already?

I would assume this is so due to the large number of accepted B26 upgrades back in October in the NV Site Acceptance Report thread

  4. From what I've read, it appears they are replacing incompatible hardware after the upgrade is available. At the end of October, I had to have a technician come to my house to figure out why I kept getting hiccups in my connection as well as an inability to maintain a steady wifi connection. He replaced my SB6183 modem and gave me a new Arris DG1670A as well as said he would have to check the entire run between my house and the source of internet to find out why my internet is jumpy and not solid. He also told me it would be better for me anyways for the upcoming changes that TWC is making in my area. (this is when I looked up what he was referring to and found TWC Max) I have looked and haven't seen any changes in my bill since the swap

  5. Just out of curiosity, did you notice this after the maps were updated with 800 CDMA? I don't know the technical specifics or if it's even possible but I seem to think my overall LTE signal has changed since then.

I don't want to say yes or no specifically as I don't remember when it started, but that could be a high possibility that it happened around the same time
  6. I completely agree cyclone. I don't know why they're dragging feet but again this the federal government we're talking about. Also, how has your LTE been lately? For some reason it's been a little spotty the past few weeks.

I have noticed the same thing. I drive back and forth along 1604 from 90 to Helotes and I have random areas around Potranco and Hausmann as well as around my house (to be expected due to poor spacing because where my house and the surrounding neighborhoods are used to be a field of corn no more than 5 years ago). I will say driving around with Field Test mode running on my iPhone shows that I'm connected to B41 almost any time I'm on LTE, but then I hit those areas where it drops suddenly to 3G.

  7. I wish I knew what was holding up the FCC on this. It appears that Sprint has taken careful consideration into the surrounding areas and found no reason to punish the city of San Antonio and a few surrounding areas because a small portion of the market is in the IBEZ. I saw about a month back San Antonio got several upgrades for 800 approved so hopefully Sprint will light some fire under the FCC and maybe slip them some Red Bull to wake them up so they can make a decision and we can start enjoying much denser coverage and get the load off B25 and I can have a useable data signal when I'm downtown

  8. Excited to see the "156 CDMA 800" updates in the Site Acceptance Report today. With Sprint's recent waiver1 request with the FCC to help bring 800 to the IBEZ areas and this news, hopefully San Antonio is on its way to enjoying the fill-in coverage of 800MHz. We could definitely use B26 downtown along the River Walk and in the La Cantera/Six Flags area that have both poor spacing to accommodate the huge population relying on just the single B25, and poor building/structural penetration.

  9. My mom (a blonde) got her new phone in and called me after she got it activated. She kept claiming she was having a hard time hearing me and I told her to make sure the volume was turned up all the way as it's a new phone and the settings are at a default level. She just messaged me saying she figured out the reason why...To all the blondes who ordered a new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus and are having it delivered to your house, don't forget to take off the plastic!  :rasp::lol:

  10. Sounds like a novice customer.

I'm sorry but yes this is my first time to pre order a phone. So yes I am in fact a novice customer as far as this goes, but your statement isn't helping me with anything or anyone else...

I will ask again, was I supposed to have been sent home with a receipt or not? I have the installment agreement made for a phone on my plan, but that was all I left the store with.

  11. Confirmation of Sprint stores not getting any pluses in. Stopped by my store today before work because they opened an hour early. Sadly, they told me they have not received any of the pluses in at all, not for pre orders nor for regular sell. The lady did tell me they are getting shipments daily and to call back after 3. They are telling everyone that it could be between a week and 3 weeks from the date you pre ordered before the phones come in if you ordered in store.

  12. Everyone is on the lookout for 4.4.4 coming, but I just checked my phone's Android Version in the about device section and it is currently 4.4.2...Am I missing an update or is there going to be a jump? I have checked for updates using my phone and using Kies and they all say my software is updated.

  13. Does Sprint Easy PaySM require an Installment Agreement?

Yes, Sprint Easy PaySM requires an Installment Agreement that allows a customer to pay for the device over 24 months. Additionally, the customer is subject to the terms of the selected service and is required to sign a month to month Service Agreement, but the customer will not be subject to a term commitment.
