Neat. I'll look forward to checking that out once the 14.3 update is released. (I never run Beta software.)
My peak DL speeds on T-Mobile's 5G seem to be about the same as when I was on Sprint's LTE. However, my 5G speeds are much more consistent and reliable than when I was on Sprint. My UL speeds are up to 10x faster than Sprint's, which is a huge improvement in usability for the device. Everything App related in that respect is much faster. I'm seeing ~75 Mbps upload speeds.
Yeah, there's a lot of runway left for N41. However, it seems it would make sense to put the mmWave gear on the sites when they're being upgraded so the techs don't have to make another climb/trip. There are a number of dense areas in the DMV which could benefit from mmWave: The area around The White House, Nationals Park, The Wharf, National Harbor, etc.
They definitely need mmWave on U st lol. But yeah they acquired the spectrum in March. They will most likely deploy it sometime next year.

That's a good question. I'd like to know this as well.
Doesn't seem like there's mmWave on my local site at least. I'm seeing speeds just under 300 Mbps down and ~76 Mbps up. I'd expect to see higher DL speeds if mmWave was deployed on it.
I think this is their mmWave Footprint . I remember it being small. However I do think T-Mobile and Sprint acquired nationwide licenses earlier this year

Does DC have mmWave or LAA?

Looks like T-Mobile didn't get a lot of 3.5Ghz spectrum. Only 8 licenses in six counties:
Shentel bought some. I wonder if tmobile will acquire it or if Shentel will keep it for fixed broadband

Tmobile to buy Shentel Wireless
QuoteT-Mobile said it would purchase Shentel's wireless business, including its 1.1 million mobile customers, but the companies continue to bicker over the price of the transaction.
In a filing with the SEC, Shentel said that T-Mobile on Wednesday "delivered to the company notice exercising its option to purchase the assets of our wireless operations." T-Mobile also disclosed the action in its own SEC filing. The transaction doesn't come as a surprise considering T-Mobile had been widely expected to purchase Shentel following its acquisition of Sprint in April.
However, the deal between Shentel and T-Mobile – which stems from a complex, 21-year-old arrangement between Sprint and Shentel – isn't done.
Shentel is a Sprint affiliate. That means the company operates its own wireless network and retail operation, but it sells services under the Sprint brand. Sprint inked several such affiliate deals years ago to expand its wireless footprint without incurring the cost of new network builds. Over the years, Sprint acquired a number of its affiliates including Ubiquitel, iPCS and US Unwired, but Shentel is one of the few independent Sprint affiliates that remains standing

Some of you do realize the merger just closed 4 months ago right? Things take time. I don’t think they prepared for a pandemic or other roadblocks. Geez lol

I am also thinking about ordering a Moto edge just to drive around and look for 5G in my small-ish metropolitan area.
I also picked up a Moto G Stylus and really like the phone. This is coming form a Samsung Galaxy S10+ too! I just wish it had NFC and Wireless charging. I'm loving the headphone jack and apt-x HD Bluetooth support built-in. If Moto-Lenovo would increase the frequency and timeliness of updates, plus commit to 2-3 years of updates, including 2 major OS updates, I would jump ship from Samsung. That’s what I’m doing. I’m going to use it for a week. Test out the dc metro area.

Moto Edge is on sale. I think it’s the cheapest 5G smart phone right now. Specs are pretty good and it does activate on Sprint/Tmobile. I may buy it so I can locate N41 in my area

Wow. They're really unloading things now. Holy cow.
Money for everything but Sprint. Sad. It's just sad.
It really is b/c Sprint could have been that wireless carrier. Especially in the 5G realm. All SoftBank had to do was build out 2.5 nationally, participated in the 600mhz auction and upgrade the back haul.

This week I switched from a Sprint 4G phone to a T-Mobile 5G.
Connectivity is significantly better, specifically when I am deep inside my apartment building or in an elevator down to the underground garage.
Do we have Tmo 5G NR 2.5 yet?

I am not enjoying this t-mobile 5G in Astoria Queens or even LTE for that matter. Here is comparison between the 2 today at Astoria park.
This area had even faster speeds before Sprint 5G was shut down. T-Mobile really needs to expand the N41 coverage outside of Manhattan asap. Some how Sprint really delayed it fast.

is it possible to turn off 5G? if so, what are the speeds like on LTE? I would assume you will be connected to B41 LTE....

This deal should help free up some more capital for New T-Mobile now that Boost and Virgin Mobile are officially in Dish’s hands.

Are you suggesting that Sprint was attempting to build a network with champagne taste but on a decidedly beer budget? 😂
I need a glass of Rosé champagne. Today has been a long day 😞

Honest question... is there value in referring to bands 2 and 4 separately from 25 and 66 any more, since the former are just subsets? I could see a case for 4 and 66 remaining separate since I think there are places where New T-Mobile doesn't own any AWS-3 licenses, but is there anywhere they don't own PCS Block G at this point?
I keep forgetting they are subsets. I’ll say 25/66 going forward lol
