  1. For the Charlottesville folks on here-

I took my mother to nTelos today to upgrade from the 5S to 6S. I was in the store talking to the rep about Shentel(no new info) and noticed I had no LTE while all of the nTelos phones had all bars. I looked and they were all locked on band 26. I had no clue that band 26 was used in Cville but I'm guessing Sprint users cannot access yet and that's why everything is so spotty.

  2. My experience, too. Not very much 1X, but I would get LTE some times and EVDO at other times in the same places.

I had a hard time at Stonefield today. Would have full bars of LTE and then it would drop to 3G for no reason randomly. I live out near Lake Monticello and once I leave Pantops I drop to 3G till returning to the lake. I wonder how they chose what towers got LTE

  3. Are you a Sprint sub? An nTelos sub? Or do you have both? I am referring to the nTelos LTE deployment some in this thread are complaining that Sprint subs cannot access.

    AJ

I am a prior NTelos subscriber and a current sprint sub.

Whole family uses NTelos on iPhone 5s' so I have no way to see if NTelos uses band 41

  4. Short of cutting ties with nTelos, there's not much Sprint could have done about this situation. And cutting ties with nTelos likely would have prolonged your time without LTE. You cannot forget you are not an actual Sprint market. You are on the nTelos network. Now that Shentel will be taking over, things will get better, and quickly once Shentel takes the reins.

The agreement should have stated when NTelos activates LTE that would go for sprint customers too. However many areas have NTelos LTE and we are not allowed to use.

I can tell you NTelos was scared the agreement wasn't going to be renewed

  5. Sounds to me like Sprint just doesn't give a damn about Roanoke VA. They are the only carrier in this city without LTE and they don't even care enough to give us an honest answer of when it will get better. Hell Verizon launched LTE here in November of 2011, 4 years ago now. It's getting to be a big joke....it's time to move on.

Charlottesville too! Every other carrier has LTE and has had it for months to years

  6. Sadly I think Sprint is going to lose a large number of customers in Charlottesville. In my office I am one of the few Sprint users left due to lack of 4G. Most of the users don't care about LTE but when the 3G has been topping out at a whopping 0.20-0.50 here complaints start happening. I can say I am frustrated to not have LTE when it is working just fine for nTelos users

  7. For about 1 minute today in Roanoke my phone lit up with "extended network LTE", then went to no service and then back to 3G. Maybe something is happening but I will believe it when I see it.

Was on iPhone 6 Plus .

Yesterday and today I have been getting the 3G to 1X to No service and then back to 3G all day. It will do it randomly but only when the enable LTE switch is on

  8. How does one see that? Engineering screens? (If so, I'll need a reminder how to get to them on my M9 - SCP shortcut doesn't work)

Not sure on android, but on an iPhone it would have to be jail broken to see the carrier menu.

I use my T-Mobile iPhone 6 and do a carrier search and can see the nTelos MNC and Sprint MNC

Got lte in cumberland yesterday at the shell station

Cumberland ????? Cumberland in Maryland or what?? Cumberland, Md is not Shentel or ntelos. It is controlled by the Western Pa division of Sprint Corporate.

  10. Nope, nothing I've seen in C'ville. I hear that LTE is on city-wide for nTelos folks, but nothing for us Sprint folks.

I am so ready for LTE to light up!! I can now see Sprint's MNC all over nTelos's LTE footprint so we have to be close. IMO I think they will fire it up in January

  11. Got a nice birthday present this evening. On my way to Staunton for a swing band gig, I got this:

When I mentioned this to a bandmate, he said he's on nTelos and pointed out the irony of getting LTE all over C'ville just when he received the notice about nTelos being sold. Still no LTE for us Sprint-sters, though. [emoji53]

This is great news that you are seeing someLTE. I can verify the LTE for nTelos in Charlottesville although my sisters phone(iPhone 5S) has been dropping LTE frequently and won't connect at all in Waynesboro anymore.
