  1. Has anyone in N. Raleigh (Near Creedmoor Rd & Crabtree Mall) been having issue with data? Ever since yesterday morning and this morning on my way to work, I couldn't get data. Only the upload light would light up and not the download light, so I couldn't get anything to work. Refreshing the Profile doesn't work, neither does restarting the phone either. When I get near downtown it refreshes itself and starts working again.

    Yeppers

Something is wrong with a few of their towers

    And some definite dead spots.

Take your phone up leesville to the four way stop sign at Mt Herman church.

You will have almost full bars, but will lose data.

    Every time.

Tried with my s3 and the wife's evo 3d

They really need to "fix" things instead of putting them in this crazy stage

They turned 4g on at the ray Rd tower the other day, but had nothing setup to route the data.

  2. Mapped some of the 4g on Sensorly over by 54/Maynard and Cary Parkway. Decent speeds too.

Also happened to have lunch with Sprint guy, and was talking to him about the backhaul crap.

Seems all the wires in the area go to the office on Weston. (I know in one of these threads someone was asking where the switch was)

And they are constantly upgrading/changing fixing etc. He overheard them basically saying what we've seen. Don't think anything is "final" for a little while. Where you see 4g today you might not tomorrow. Within a month or so it should settle down, and sites that get turned on should be able to stay on.

I'm hoping. It's nice when we actually have it to be able to use the internet. :) Now I just wish they'd get the RTP towers, so I can use my phone at work.

(My boss might be paying them off to do those towers last though) :)

  3. ????? As far as I know text messages are not dpendent on data speed but rather voice connection. In other words if you have a signal you can send a text. If you had a signal and could not send a text then either there was a network issue(on going work or overloaded) or there is an issue with your phone.

    That's very true

Sms is sent on the control channel

Sms mms are kind of weird how they are designed.

That said it's very much the network.

But I can use wifi and Google voice to send a text in that case trying to find a friend who decided to bury his jeep up to the frame and need someone with a winch to pull him out.

It has been getting so much worse lately it's sad.

  4. Good for you southerners. It appears all the northern ones are turned off now. :( Or at least my phone won't connect to any 4g at places it was working previously.

Sprint's contractors are definitely working on the tower at the Rugby Complex on Poole Rd. They keep leaving the ()#()@()$@ gate unlocked, including this past Saturday left it wide open.

The funny part, when someone from our team called, the person he talked to said "We don't know of any work going on in your area"

Good to see communication working great. :)

  5. Since Fayetteville was named by Sprint in its 120 city list, I wonder if work has already started down there too, but no one is running Sensorly down there? Hmmm.

I actually ate almost in fville yesterday. I got ehrpd but no lte. But I didn't cycle airplane mode anywhere outside of the bbq joint.

I might ride through there again soon.

I've now found another reason for my wife to make fun of my excuses for going riding. :)
