  1. I was looking online earlier about nextel and found an Iowa coverage map. From the looks of it that blue dot of coverage could have been right over me, The dot I'm talking about is the big blue coverage dot near the Missouri Iowa boarder where the coverage going up towards the Iowa boarder is. I've circled it in red on the map.
  2. I have tried outside though I still can't use it. And I've tried multiple devices. And soon I'll be trying a fifth whenever it shows up next week, should've ordered the order night shipping. I'm currently waiting and watching the signal, each time its been coming in this morning it has been sticking around and staying connected longer and longer. And it as so far peaked at 93 dBm on 1X 800.
  3. The signal is back, this time showing up again before it usually does, it first showed up at 11:13pm and it is 11:40pm now it's going in and out. I'm taking screen shots of the 1X Engineering mode screen. Will post them later, as the signal is slowly getting stronger first was at dBm of 124 now at 111, and it is slowly getting stronger. If someone could post screenshot of their working signal in the 1X Engineering mode so I could compare before posting my screenshots that would be great.
  4. I'm not going to go with the atmospheric theory just yet. My devices have all been through quite a bit, the device I took my last screenshots on had been known to have signal issues, when I got it I had it replaced twice, becuase I couldn't get a signal in a strong coverage area, my Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE has been dropped many many times and even has a big dent in the plastic on the right side, so there could be something with it and the Samsung Galaxy S 3 isn't active so it doesn't got the lastest network info. So I purchased an LG Tribute a Spark comaptible device for both my trip Kansas City next month and to see how the signal is with a new and Spark compatible device. I'll be sure to post screenshots when I get the device and a signal.
  5. And it is outside of the normal time window for when a signal shows up. I'm going to keep watching try making a call, and sending text, data still doesn't show up.
  6. Here the images, this is quite interesting it has never broken the pattern before. It's still happening, going in and out. But there is now a signal. Outside of the normal times. From my first look it seems to be the same tower as they all have the same SID. Interesting if this keeps happening.
  7. (UPDATE) It is 8:30 PM Central Time and my device is getting a signal outside of the normal midnight to 8am pattern. Plus it says a new location. I've taken screenshots will post them as soon as I get them on imgur.
  8. Well I haven't heard or read anything that Sprint has any plans to shut down CDMA. So I don't think Sprint lovers and customers have anything to worry about. But it would be nice if they get 1X 800 and LTE 800 built out, maybe then some people wouldn't hate Sprint, I used to hate them, now I'm curious about what this signal I've been getting is meant to ask them while I was on the phone with them if there are any new towers going up along highway 63, I would doubt it connecting the coverage that they left off at Lancaster to Ottumwa would make since. Hopefully Sprints CEO is serious about making Sprint #1 or #2 when it comes to network, only way thats happening is by building out, and adding more capacity. They got the Spectrum they got the money from Softbank now they just need to build out.
  9. Sadly I don't get a data, and voice doesn't work, haven't tried texting yet. I plan to watch it again tomorrow morning and take more screenshots if the signal acts differently, acts like it normally does. I also plan to switch focus and see what I get when I get my new Spark compatible device.
  10. For an airave to work you have to be within AIRAVE COVERAGE, which it checks. And an airave can't reach that far. I have an airave which I've tried using it worked before I moved here, I never deactivated it, according to Sprint it's still active, but when I try using it it doesn't work. Plus if a device is picking up Airave coverage it would have to go threw since the airave won't let devices connect to it unless it is working. Plus no one in a twenty mile raduis has Sprint they either have US Cellular or Verizon, which Verizon isn't available in my town. And no Airave is going to reach Twenty miles or more, not even a mile, 5,000 square feet thats all and from what I leaned from my Airave when I used it, that means you can be about 50 feet away, depending on the building.
  11. I definitely will, I was in that area looking around this morning didn't think much of it since I had no signal. And I'll be sure to post screenshots when I get my new LG Tribute. Just placed my order. Maybe a newer Spark device might act different than these older LTE devices. I should get it tomorrow. But since UPS doesn't deliver before 8am and normall they are in town by 4pm I'll post screenshots of what I get with it Saturday. I'm going to post images from the screenshots from my Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE on my next post.
  12. I could but It wouldn't show anything important right now. As I don't have a signal, like I've said before it is always gone by 8am. And it comes back sometime after midnight, so unless you want to see what it says when I don't got a signal I don't think it'll be much info there until I get signal again tomorrow morning. Also I'm getting a new Spark device I plan to order one today. And should hopefully have it by tomorrow if I get my order in by 11am CST. I'll use it Saturday morning to test and take screenshots on it and post them. I'll update when I get it if by somehow I get a signal with it outside of the midnight to 8am routine thats been happening.
  13. I first noticed it last September when I moved here at the end of August, I also noticed it a few times each month since then and have begun watching it daily for a week or so now.
  14. I didn't have a chance to try out texting when I had the signal, as it was only around for about 10 minutes this morning and came in and out faster than I could take a screen shot. I will watch for it again tomorrow morning and each morning afterwards and check out the area around me and see what I get. If I do get text the question would be, why doesn't calling or data work. And if I don't get text the better question is why do I the signal but can't use it.
  15. But why only during the morning hours, and only within a certain time frame, anywhere between midnight and 8am the signal shows up usually its strong and sticks around, and doesn't go in and out like it did during my screenshots. And it happens no matter what the weather conditions, this morning the weather was really bad and so was the signal, yesterday morning was normal-ish and the signal came in like always that morning at 1:39am CST I remember looking at the time the minute I noticed the signal, and I have a photographic memory so I remembered it very well. And around 7:30 the signal was gone, it's always gone by 8am. And it acts almost the same with each device.
  16. Here are screenshots from my Samsung Galaxy S 3 still the same thing, but the signal is slightly better. I'll upload the images from my Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE screenshots soon after this.
  17. The signal usually isn't that weak last night, Wednesday morning I was getting anywhere between 70 and and 95 dBm though most of the time it would stick in the 80 range. When I was taking the screenshots there was a powerful storm system. It didn't stop until about an hour ago, by then the signal was gone for the day. Like I've said it is usually gone by 8am. I will post the other screenshots soon from the other two devices and take more as I get a new Spark compatible device.
  18. The signal is gone again like it does each day, though it is gone earlier than usual and it was weaker than ever. Will try again tomorrow but in the mean time I'll post what I got. Here are screenshots with the SignalCheck app and the signal info in the settings on my LG Optimus F3. And there it is. I'll post the screenshots from my Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE and Samsung Galaxy S 3 soon.
  19. I looked back at one of my screenshots and it gave me a location of Wyacondah, IA which is incredibly close to Bloomfield, IA. The connection was only 1XRTT when it would switch to 1X800 the location would change to one of two. Still taking screenshots, waiting for the signal to come back. Was only around for about 10 minutes, enough time to take about half a dozen screenshots on three devices. Again I'll post the screenshots later on. Waiting for the storm system that is currently east of me to move away.
  20. Well I'm still taking screen shots and I can say it is acting differently than it has any other time I've watched it. I'll be posting the screenshots device by device later on. Give it some time to maybe get a stronger signal, bad weather just passed. And the signal usually doesn't go away until 8am and it does get stronger sometimes as the time goes on. So I'm just going to wait, watch and take screenshots.
  21. Well the signal is back, and I'm taking screenshots now. Though the signal is weaker than other times, but it could be the weather.
  22. If it is "cell breathing" how can it reach around 30 miles threw tons of trees, and 2 thick walls and stil give me dBms of around 80 to 90, sometimes even in the 70s. And why can't I use the signal, I try a phone call, it says dialing and after a while it fails. And I don't get any data connection. Another post said something about a USCC tower being converted. The towers Sprint bought from US Cellular are arn't near me and I'm surrounded by US Cellular towers, my Verizon phone always connects to them because there ain't any Verizon here. And I put the Sprint device and Verizon device side by side and the signal isn't anywhere close to each other. I will be posting the screenshots of the signal with the SignalCheck app open, at this point I keep thinking it has something to do with Sprints Project Ocean, but if so why does the signal disappear and why isn't it running, this has been going on since I moved here in August of last year, I noticed it about a week or so after. I've only been watching for it more closely since last week. I'll also be sure sometime soon to head over to Bloomfield, IA and see what I get, I'll do so when I get a new Spark compatible device within the next few weeks.
  23. I know I've looked at the network.sprint.com website hundreds of times, and there is no tower anywhere within range of me and now I'm getting a signal, a really really good signal, that shows up only during the morning hours and is usually gone by 8am and back around midnight. And I can't use it, calls don't go threw, I don't get a data connection, and again I haven't tried texting but will when it comes back.
  24. Since the signal only shows up during the morning hours around midnight that will be when I'll be able to get the screenshots, I'll get screenshots on all 3 of the devices I have that are compatible with 1X800 and 1XRTT,unless anyone knows if the Samsung Epic 4G is compatible with 1X800 I won't use it, plus it is a lot older than the other devices I have. Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE, Samsung Galaxy S3 and LG Optimus F3. I plan to purchase a new Spark compatible device as soon as possible so I can keep and eye out, I also plan to go driving around in northern Missouri where according to Sprints coverage map its roaming I'll take screenshots if I get a signal in an area that "shouldn't" be getting one. My location is Seymour, Iowa, I'm about 10 miles away from the Missouri Iowa boarder. The nearest town Unionville, MO would be where I'd expect to get a signal out of since that is where the nearest T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T tower is. I've also used the SignalCheck app to try to get the tower location, but when it goes to map it, it is at a house in Kirksville, MO which I doubt that person has a Sprint tower in their house that is able to reach me about 30 miles away. So tomorrow morning I'll post those screenshots. But again I repeat I get a signal but can't use it, NO DATA, and voice calls don't go threw, and I haven't tried sending a text. figured if voice and data don't work probably neither will text, but I'll be sure to try when the signal comes back. Which shouldn't be long now. I plan to call tech support and see what they say, maybe there is a new tower going up, but it has been quite a while I first noticed this signal a few months ago, if there is a new tower going up I would figure it would be online and working by now.
  25. I'm here looking for answers to a simple question. Where is this mystery Sprint signal coming from? For the past few weeks I've received a signal on multiple Sprint devices, two Sprint devices with roaming turned off, and two Virgin Mobile phones and Virgin Mobile phones can't roam, the other rate plans might be able but I'm talk about Virgin Mobile devices from before they introduced all those other plans. What I'm making clear is these devices have to be picking up a Sprint signal, plus I've downloaded the SignalCheck Pro app which has indicated two different signals 1XRTT and 1X800. The signal only last for about 8 hours each morning and begins coming in and out towards the end of each morning. I try making a call and it fails, and it doesn't get any data at all. I try each device and they all do the same thing they have a signal and very strong signal with no data, and voice doesn't go threw, I haven't tried sending a text figured no data, no voice then there must be no text. I read about some "projects" that Sprint has going on Project Ocean and Project Cedar. Since Project Ocean is suppose to be taking place in Missouri and I live so close to the Iowa, Missouri line, I figured if there is a tower going up maybe it is possible I'm getting a signal from it, in the early stages. I really don't know what is going on, if Sprint is launching service, putting up new towers and that signal finally comes, and stays, and works. I'll be back full time on the Sprint ban wagon. Unfortunately, I live in an area not served by (according to experience and coverage map) Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint. Not even the two Iowa carriers i Wireless or Chat Mobility serve my area, go 10, 15 or 20 miles in any direction your good, here, wireless dead zone, no choice of carriers. And if Sprint puts a tower here if I finally get an answer and learn that signal will soon come and stay and work I'll finally have a choice. So if anyone has any ideas, has experienced this in other parts of the country or has any idea what could be going on please say. Any information is better than not knowing, and together maybe this will be answered.
