  1. Ok, I got my wife an S4 Mini and via the update, it now has spark. I have seen with my own eyes that they are at least testing Spark and it does work. It's my wife's phone so I rarely have it & I don't even have a speed app on her phone, but pulling up a non-cached website I blinked and it was fully loaded. Pretty cool.

    Peace,

    DM

All Spark phones have the Spark symbol. Ft Myers doesn't have Spark.

  2. I'm in St. Augustine for a couple days and the coverage has been abysmal in the old town area. I would either roam or get very weak 1x or 3G. Only about 10-25% of the time would be on LTE. Is this a problem with my phone, or is something else going on here? I'm using a Nexus 5.

The old town area has horrible coverage on any phone. The nearest tower is still legacy.

  3. At the Tampa zoo. No band 25 or 41 but band 26 is everywhere and so is 1*800

It is almost like the past week or so they turned off Band 25 and just left on Band 26. It's harder to get band 41 also because of Band 26. Sometimes i have to toggle to get band 41. They are probably tuning and aiming band 26 towers. I am not complaining though compared to this time last year.

Great speeds at the premium outlets by International.

I know the other Premium Outlet on Vineland had horrible service last time I was there, hopefully it's better now.

  5. So today I was either roaming or on 1xRTT almost my entire commute to work where I'd normally be almost all LTE. I am hoping St Augustine is getting lit soon with band 26/800 CDMA. It seems to be North of us on Jax and South of us in Orlando...

I wish the tower near downtown would be LTE accepted soon. Anyone see if NV equipment is on it tet?

  6. Sounds more like Ericsson messing up the implementation of csfb when they're activating band 26. They'll eventually sort it out.

Is it true that the csfb software has problems swiching from B26 to B41. Some research has found that some csfb software has problems switching from a lower frequency to a higher one. There are a couple time when driving here in Tampa switching from band 26 to band 41 it drops to 3G and stays unless I toggle airplane.

  7. You guys still having eCSFB issues with B26?

Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

On some sites yes. Some have the software patch now but a new problem has showed up. Going from B26 to B41 the connection in some places drops to 3G and stays unless I toggle airplane. The sites have csfb on them, I can connected to any band alone make calls et. .but when driving there are some handoff issues from B26 to B41. Some research on the Web and a person on Android Central says the csfb software has some problems switching from a low frequency to a higher one, one higher than PCS. This might be a permanent problem until volte is rolled out.

This article states that no current Sprint Spark phone will be able to take full advantage of the new antennas yet. It's says customers will have to upgrade their phones later this year or next.

  9. I know I had decent B25 and B41 on the way in, but I think I have been on B26 99% of the time. It has been great lol.

And the closest tower has not been 4G accepted yet so it will only get better.

  10. Why would you use a showtime mobile app as a replacement for cable unless you're on wifi? This is proof too many people will slow down cellular systems for selfish reasons. replacment

Reread what he said. He didn't say he was using it as a replacement, he said occasionally as he has cable at home.

  11. What are people doing on their phones that throttling will hurt you anyway?

No one has really answered this. What is it you do that will be unusable if you were to be in the 5 percent and on an overloaded sector, causing the throttle.

  12. That's what my wife and I did. We changed our address to the address of the framily account holder we wanted to join then changed it back a couple days later. My wife and I went from just two in a framily plan to 10 in the new one.

  13. Most everything I know comes from this site but my understanding is that B26 and B25 are broadcast from the same antennas. The only band that doesn't come through the NV antennas is B41, which needs separate antennas.

So, if the B25 downtilt has already been adjusted, I don't think a 2nd adjustment would be needed.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

  14. Hi everybody I posted here a while ago about having a seemingly weak band 26 signal compared to a band 25 signal. It turned out to be coming from a different site. I don't want to be the guy that rains on the B26 parade but I'm back, except this time the signals are coming from the same tower. Is this signal difference of around 4dbm normal? I've noticed the same situation on my galaxy s5. Maybe they're still testing it? But this worries me if this is what the norm will be for band 26. ruqygudu.jpg 3ameby6y.jpg

I'm running into the same thing here in Tampa. Maybe they have to adjust the tilt on band 26 because allot of the sites here have the same or even slightly worst dbm.

  15. With more data intensive apps and normal web use 5 gig will be the norm soon imo. Like I said earlier just 5 or 6 hours on Google Music I used .92 gigs. I have wifi at home but don't at work, don't tether or hot spot I usually end up between 4-6 gigs a month.

  16. That is not likely to happen. Robert is still busy. Regardless, his answer is likely to be no different. Respect all moderator directions.

All I really want to know from this thread is why I have trouble going from a band 26 site to a band 41 when both bands have csfb but I still drop to 3G. I can be on band 26 and receive calls et the same with the band 41 I connect to but it seems when driving going from 26 to 41 it drops to 3G in some places even though csfb is enabled.

  17. In 4 days I used .92 gigs with Google play music streaming alone. Combined with the free Spotify promotion that Sprint is advertising my monthly usage will creep up to 6 gigs or so. It's very easy to get above 5 gigs if you have a long commute daily and use the above mentioned services with regular email and web browsing. Throttling would effect the very promotion Sprint is advertising with Spotify.

  18. Band 26 seems to be on 80% of LTE accepted sites now. Csfb is on most of them now too. The only problem I'm having is when my connection drops to 3G when going from a band 26 site to a band 41 connection.
