The site at 696 and 75 is on the Southeast side of the exchange at 10 mile and Palmer Blvd. From the limited data on Sensorly, it would appear that this site is broadcasting but since it is not finished yet, it may be going up and down. FYI, for those that have driven past it and got nothing.

Samsung has already said that as soon as 5.0 is agailable that the GS4 will be updated. Rumor also is that the next Nexus 7 will ship with it.

Have fun, be safe.. Rest up..

Also, looking at Sensorly.. It does appear that site at 696 and 75 is up and running now too.. Someone needs to do some mapping in Ferndale. I would if I had a phone that was capable of receiving LTE. (May can't come quickly enough)
-
I noticed that yesterday too and mapped as well. I'm wondering where it's coming from...judging by what's on Sensorly it doesn't look like the tower at the 75/696 interchange.
It's most likely the site at 9 mile and Hilton in Ferndale.

Luminator, you need to edit your message.

Not talking about the local ISP, that may or may not monitor/log your traffic but your ISP's ISP.. The CIA has it's hand in everything!

I live in Southfield and I was wondering if anyone know where the sprint tower is for Southfield or the closest tower
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
The tower in Southfield that is live is on 11 Mile Rd, west of Lahser.

You're being watched every day all the time, by humans.. When you're in public, when you're at work. When you go to an airport, board a plane, go through the security checkpoint. Your ISP knows when you come to this website or if you go to any other website. Still concerned about your phone?
I'll be the first to say that I don' t know how it's doing it but the machine may not even be using the camera for these gestures, it may just have a sensitive touch screen. It's the least of my worries in this day and age.
-
I'll have to see if I can get some usable pics of that tower then since it's not listed here as In Process.
That's because it's not in process. It's done. It's already broadcasting LTE. Check Sensorly.

The tower at Mt Holly has already been worked on.
-
Rumor is there were overheating issues..

There's new LTE on I696 at the Lodge/Lahser Road. Site just came online today..

Hope that is true. I live less than a mile from 75 and 696. Have not noticed anything, but I will be looking now.
I would say it's the tower on 75 near Girad..

Nice..Keeps getting closer..

When you say the "site is ready", do you mean permits? Or something physical that it needed? (new fiber, microwave or something)?
I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong but there's a number of things that need to be at the site in order for it to be upgraded. Equipment, backhaul (connection to the network) and manpower.. Most of the time, the permits were applied for and granted a while back.
Edit: I saw that the post had already been replied to after I had already entered it.

They go where the site is ready.. Just because they're in Chesterfield now, doen't mean they'll stay in Chesterfield.. That crew working on that tower could go to Tawas next if the cell site there is ready to be installed.

I'm very excited at this news!!

Morning all,
Long time lucker... I finally decided to sign up.
3 questions and 1 comment:
1. I think this has been discussed before, but with the LTE/NV rollout, does 3G and cell coverage also improve (speeds and/or strength)
2. Based on previous LTE/NV rollouts, what is the average time period from first the first tower being lit up (Howell in this case) to the next one? Is it a domino type of effect, where the towers just start lighting up all quicker?
3. (Comment/question). I'm still getting a WiMax signal in Detroit. I use it at work to stream Pandora. Will that WiMax signal ever be shut off? Would the loss of the signal be a sign that LTE will be switched on?
I've been holding off getting an LTE phone untill I see some more progress. I got burned buying my WiMax phone over a year ago, and I don't want to be burned again.
Thanks all.
2. They get converted when they get converted, there's no set period of time.
3. I believe 2015 was the time period when it would be switched off.
The LTE deployement is the real deal. I didn't buy a LTE phone either, only because I'm waiting for the rollout. But I will be buying the S4 when it comes out.

I wouldn't say it's turned off, most likely blocked. In my area before they unblocked LTE, the data connection would hang when it attempted to connect to LTE but found it was blocked, then would fall back to 3G.
You can't connect to it, so you call it blocked, I'll call it off, it's still not able to be used so for all intents and purposes, it's off.
-
It probably was not on when you were in the area. When they aren't working on the site it is likely turned off. You would need to be there during the day when the contractors are working to see the signal most likely. That's what has been happening in other markets.

Love seeing that purple on the map!! Yay!! It's beginning!

Happy New Year!! May it bring everyone in the market fast LTE from Sprint!!

I think I can wait for LTE that's faster than most free WiFi connections.

Your experience is the exact reason why I will never buy a HTC manufactured cell phone.
