Sprint has said publicly at least once, but I think more than once, that they are upgrading to DO Advanced as a part of Network Vision upgrades. All the work to add DO Advanced capabilities can be achieved with the new base stations being installed, software and at the Sprint's MSC's.

Is there any evidence that Sprint actually deployed DO-Advanced on its Network Vision towers as part of its "improved 3G" strategy? I thought I remember hearing that DO-Advanced would be part of Network Vision.

I have never seen any network vision materials mentioning DO-Advanced. Just went back and looked again, nothing. It really does not make sense for Verizon or Sprint to spend any additional money on a dead technology with a planned nationwide LTE rollout. Instead I think the focus is going to be on clearing as much spectrum as possible for LTE.
