If allot of these sites don't have the back haul it won't matter what improvements were done. Time will tell but I'm not convinced that all sites will get lte and or back haul.
If it shows up on the completed sites map, it means the work is done at the site and Sprint has inspected and accepted it. In most instances the improvements are live at that time, but occasionally they are not. In most instances when they are not live right away, it is usually only an issue for a few weeks at the most.

Wow.. 40 new sites... Nice.. I saw some workers on top of a building close to Plaza today. I bet it is a Sprint site.

It's my understanding that sprint does not have 800mhz spectrum in pr.

I sure hope they really do update all those towers to lte. I'm still not convinced it's really going to happen.

I have seen plenty of these ehrpd towers with slow speeds.
Nope, but if the tower has the NV equipment , 3G speeds will be far better.

I don't think ehrpd has any connection to higher speed.

You get it going down the hill too but it's not fast. Is there an android widget that will show me the strength of the data connection?
I've seen that also, there seems to be a tiny LTE coverage spot riiiiight on the bridge

I got some lte at the top of martinez nadal and los filtros. Speeds were bad so I was probably connecting to some site in Bayamon.

I bet which sites get lte has more to do with backhaul availability then some scheduled rollout. Why bother doing the upgrade and not enable lte while your at it?
No LTE love for Ponce yet as far as i know...Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2

I have been by the airport a couple of times in the last days but never get any lte love. I know which is the tower.

I get the feeling they roll LTE out to some key sites withe back haul and then feed surrounding sites wirelessly. Any thoughts?

I think we are going to see battery life go way up once we can get and hold an lte connection. Moving data slowly over cdma is a real battery drain regardless of lte requiring more power.

Lte in yabucoa is a great thing. It just means we are going to get lte everywhere.

Out of curiosity, If Sprint has about 250 cell sites in Puerto Rico how many sites does AT&T have. Given their coverage is it double that of Sprint? Is there somewhere I can see cell sites on a map for the different carriers like I see here for Sprint?

I have the note and got lte at plaza del sol no problem. No special prl. Just made sure I had the latest.

I'm in santurce and basically have no signal. I wonder if they have been putting off repairing towers as nv was coming soon. I know from other sources that sprint is slow to deal with their infrastructure repair and maintenance in Puerto Rico

I seeing erratic connections in San Juan too.

I'm sitting in an office in the middle of a building in santurce. Everyone around me on AT&T has service and me 0 bars. What a bummer that sprint won't be deploying 800mhz in Puerto Rico.
-
Next rollout update should show many more towers with 4g on.

We are finally seeing those 4g sites kick in. I wonder how fast the 3G NV sites go 4G now.
-
Things are starting to move fast!
-
At the rate they are doing towers I have to assume we start seeing LTE turned on very soon. In other markets they did not turn LTE on last.
-
I bet they have the crews scheduled to all come to San Juan at once.

The bottom line here is that we are all just speculating. I suspect there are some lurkers that do know the inside story but they're obviously going to keep quiet.
