  1. Has anyone in the Chicagoland area been able to pick up band 41 on their nexus 5? I have enabled my 26 and 41 bands in the LTE system thru the xda forums instructions. Yet I haven't been able to pick anything up. I called sprint and they told me their waiting for a software update from LG which won't come out until early 2014. Is this true? Do I have to wait or is there anything I can do on my end to have the tri-bands working? Any help would be great.
  2. Are you saying that because I switched to android to iPhone 5 that my switch process wasn't done right? Sprint system is saying its correct but my phones are not switched out right?
  3. Well I can see were your coming from because I have heard the S3 having a sim card but it can't be removed. But one thing is for sure not a network issue, seems like everyone in different parts of the US are having the problem. I hope apple comes out with a iOS update or sprint with a prl/profile update
  4. Doesn't seem like a Network issue, more like a sprint network -to-iPhone 5 compatibility issue. I have only spoken to one smart sprint tech rep and he told me the new iPhone 5 uses the sim card for its 3G/4gLTE. Because this is the first time sprint has ever used sim cards for its data network it's cause quite an issue, but I don't blame them 100% because it is Apples hardware that is causing the issue. Seems to technical for me to explain or even understand but simply the CDMA and data 3G/4g sim card aren't working in-sync with one another. I just hope sprint and apple fix the issue ASAP
  5. Have 4g in Elgin today, I believe it's pre-launch based on a article posted here a few days ago. In my house I get about 4-8mbps download. I drove down the Street (1mile or so) picked up 31mbps. Very happy
  6. You in Elgin/Hoffman estates area, I know that area pretty well it's a dead zone for almost all networks, it's not a back haul issue for you. In the last 5 years I have had AT&T, tmobile, and now sprint and can never get good coverage out there. Never had Verizon or US cellular but have heard the same from friends that there data hardly works out there. If you live in that area sorry for you Bro, but Service just sucks no matter who you have. You should be able to get good voice service still but not data
  7. The map update is old back in may or June, Elgin is done. Just posted to show fatonuseni the nearest tower near him. But you are in the heart of Chicago, to be honest I don't see any updates coming out your way for at least another month. See sprint is working out to in, example they'll start really out west, south and north of Chicago suburbs and work there way to the city, which has the most towers.
  8. Distants might be a factor for you, I live near route 20 and Randall rd, Here is a map of towers https://network.sprint.com/search/60123/ If I'm near the tower on larkin and mclean rd I get about 2.3 download on 3G, but by my house it's peaks about 1.3 download. There is an improvement.
  9. Once you pick up that signal and head over to noodles and company parking lot you will see a huge increase on the download, I posted a pic where it almost peaked at 38, but I don't imagine the signal being around to long as I'm hearing it's only testing. But I read somewhere that they should be done with about 50% of Chicagoland (when I mean Chicagoland, I am including suburbs) by the end of September. Also I called sprint and they told me they have finished all updates in Elgin and are moving east to Arlington Heights. So I'm praying 4g will be turned on and running in the Suburbs by months end or at least mid October!
  10. I drove by again today and picked up a signal again so give it a try, I was in the parking lot of the noodles and company. the speed is very fast but I imagine once everyone starts using it the speed will slow down some
  11. Hi I live in Elgin but work in schaumburg, I picked up a very strong 4g signal in Schaumburg by schaumburg rd and barrington rd. I believe its testing thats going on because the other day the signal went back to 3g.
