Not sure if anything changed but service in the subway has been terrible. Data is pretty much useless in the bigger stations.
I hope transit wireless have a plan for 5G soon.

I've noticed this too and I wasn't sure if it was because I'm on Boost infinite with a lower prioritization or with the actual Network itself. Because I have a Boost infinite Sim that's for T-Mobile. And I have a visible esim line so on my s23 ultra it actually switches over to the visible line once the data on my main number which is the Boost infinite over T-Mobile is completely not usable which happens very often when I'm traveling through the subway Network.

  2. So I have officially moved over to boost infinite and was also happily surprised I got a T-Mobile SIM as my mom and the line that I opened up prior,  got AT&T sims. What I didn't realize is that they had moved n71 carrier from 10 MHz to a full 20 and I'm now seeing that aggregated with 40 MHz of n41 here in the uuper bronx where they don't hold the contiguous sprectrum. But it seems on Boost infinite the prioritization is way lower so I'm not seeing three carrier aggravation between the 2, 40 mhz band 41 carriers and the 20mhz n71. Like I did when I had noticed prior on tmobile proper.

That's not to say it's bad all of the time. Their performance just lags T-Mobile and Verizon. Both of these tests were done outdoors on different sites in Crown Heights. The first was done while standing right in front of the site and the other was done outdoors about a quarter mile from the site w/o line of sight. AT&T will probably improve a ton on the speed side once they get more DoD spectrum deployed and they have access to the full 80MHz of C-band here.

I didn't know they had access to 80 MHz of c-band that does change some things then once that's online

  4. I've actually been doing the same thing. On my s23 ultra I got the Boost infinite Sim as the physical Sim activated. And I have the electronic Sim activated as well and I switch between depending on location to check speeds and coverage and I'm not dropping my line that's active with T-Mobile at the moment that's for sure and even the speeds along the Metro-North the Boost Sim running over AT&T's network, I've checked are kind of horrendous compared to T-Mobile service. So actually kind of disappointed and AT&T's network which I knew was the case but I didn't know it was that bad.

The only way for T-Mobile to get up to 190MHz now is to either buy out NextWave in it's entirety or wait until NextWave's lease is up and attempt to "outbid" them for the right to lease the spectrum from the Archdiocese

Yeah totes saw that article and I was like! Well damn hahaha there won't be expansion of band 41 then in areas of the Upper Manhattan/Bronx and Westchester then if that is the case otherwise we would have seen it.

  6. So I just walked around my neighborhood for the first time in a while and I had a sneaky suspicion. That's been confirmed that they took down the Sprint cell site that was adjacent to the T-Mobile one next building over. Like towers equipment everything gone. So everyone in this neighborhood is on T-Mobile network there is no Sprint equipment at all.

Hi all, long time no see...

So I just ordered an S20 FE to replace my LG V30+, which is being phased out. Should have it by the end of the week.

My question is: Assuming I have a choice, what are the pros and cons of using my existing Sprint SIM versus changing over to a T-Mobile Sim. I know I'll have to make the switch some time, but hopefully I will still have options for the next six months or so.

    Thanks

    Jim

I personally would use the Sprint SIM as long as you can. I tried switching over to the T-Mobile one. And I have issues with connecting to  band 41 on my s20 ultra. That's simply could be personal to me but I would rather you not have the issue

I can confirm the extra 20mhz on N41 are live all over the Bronx, hit speeds in excess of 300mbs! Very happy to finally see this.

In the early AM when I 1st noticed I hit up to 600 down aggregated with lte on band 41 and 40 mhz of me, so pretty the limit of the backhual currently available so not really missing much till they update the feed to the site.

  9. So I don't know if they're doing some Network optimizations in my area because of the new tower builds but I keep dropping down to a single channel of either band 12 or band 41. And rolling off nr41 off to nr71 even though the signal is there. It's kind of annoying to constantly see the indicator jump in and out of frequencies.

I feel like T-Mobile has too many bands and there's like no priority to which when you lock onto and then drop off to from there.

    Thanks,

Funny, I meant N41+B41(autocorrect switches N to B for some reason) but you still understood what I meant. lol

Yeah I understood! But I don't think T-Mobile wants to do that because they pretty much told Sprint customers with their first generation 5G devices they were no good just to turn around and then say psych we got you LOL! So it's still just anchoring to b2/4/66

  11. Are you still getting carrier aggregation with your s20? Because with my updates the s20 got carrier aggregation between Band 41 disabled..

My S20+ (Sprint version) has been toggling back to Sprint B41 lately around my house, which is typically a good thing as the B41 gave speeds near or at 100 down compared to the 2 down with "5G" on T-mobile.....however, now the B41 is useless and it needs to snap back over to "5G" to do anything.

  12. My main site at some point this week for T-Mobile got updated with an nr41 panel currently only broadcasting 20 MHz. I somehow missed it considering I haven't really been out this week at all been working on it. So I'm a little tight cuz I have a very much full window view of the building which is servicing me. From my current vantage point. I'm going to have to get on the street the building immediately adjacent to it, has a Sprint build and it looks like they removed a panel off of that one. But I'm going to have to get out the street level too confirm that.
