  1. Because it is LTE Roaming+, the data roaming setting should not need to be enabled to access it.

I would be curious, though, to see what MCC-MNC and band Nex-Tech is using.  It could be dual broadcasting a Sprint MCC-MNC and using MFBI.  Unfortunately, your mother has an iPhone and gathering that info is not as easy as opening SignalCheck Pro.

That is really interesting. I didn't realize it would be handled separately like that. Sadly I don't have any more Sprint phones available to test.

So do you think enabling band 12 on my nexus 6 would have a chance of working?

  2. So I have a question about roaming plus. I'm out visiting family in Smith Center Kansas. I know this is a lte romaing + area that has nextech. What is weird is my nexus 6 and my sisters nexus 5x are only using evdo while my mother's iPhone 6 plus has extended LTE. Does anyone here know why that is and is there a fix?

  3. So I have Sprint integration with Google voice and hangouts is merged with Google voice. It works perfectly for me. Here is the key to make it work. First download another texting app like textra. Make it the default messenger. By doing this hangouts no longer handles basic sms messaging. Now for whatever texting app you downloaded turn off notifications from it. Go ahead and integrate your Sprint number with Google voice and from the web interface make sure it doesn't forward calls to your phone. Hopefully hangouts will allow you to integrate with Google voice and then all your texts and calls will go to hangouts. Texts will go over data and so will calls. I found that the cause of the multiple texts to one person was because hangouts was set as the default for normal sms messaging and then when you integrate with Google voice it would also send a text using data over Google voice. Now you can use hangouts for voice and text over data. If you get in a situation where you don't have a good data connection just make a call from the regular dialer or send a text from your other texting app.

  4. my setup works almost perfect, here is something you can try, if you are having problems.

    1. first, you don't need a GV# to set this up the integration. it's okay if you do, you just don't need one.

    2. call sprint an ask them to add Google Voice integration on your number.

    3. After Sprint says they have added GV Integration, log into your sprint account from a computer to verify that it shows GV Integration.

    4. From your smartphone, go to settings and Update Profile.

    5. login to your Gmail account.

    6. go to Google.com/Voice and try the GV Sprint Integration.

this process worked for all five of my Sprint lines.

I can't promise it will work, because perhaps the new Sprint plans don't support GV.

I just tried this while chatting with sprint. They were not able to figure it out and gave me a number to technical support. I wonder if it has anything to do with me being on Android L.
  5. I am also having problems with turning on sprint integration. I have never used Sprint Integration before. It keeps telling me that "Unfortunately, Google voice cannot be enabled on this Sprint phone. Please contact Sprint for more details as to why this cannot be enabled." At first the only option it gave me was to port my number. It finally showed the integration option when I created a google voice number.
