Could check on what the specifics are on what phones qualify for trade in? Is it any working phone or does it have to have a certain trade in value based on best buy?I will check the details Saturday when I return to work, but we have allowed promotional trade in gift cards to be applied towards device purchases in the past. I haven't seen anything regarding this promotion that states anything different.

Yeah I've read conflicting info about it. Really about both promotions. If I can't use it towards the phone then I'd rather go the Samsung route. I think the last thing I bought from best buy was the HP touchpad when they were fire selling it years ago.I would find that doubtful. At best, they would let you use it for accessories.

Yeah I've seen mention of the samsung one but if best buy let's you use the gift card towards the purchase of the phone then I think that might be a better deal, for me at least.I think the $200 back with trade in is available on the Sprint website as well - there's a link there directly to Samsung who'll send you a check instead of a gift card.

Anyone ever upgraded with them before? I never have and don't want to have any issues with losing my ED1500 family plan or them botching it in some way. Their $200 gift card with a phone trade in and note 4 pre order is a pretty tempting dealBest Buy is now listing the Sprint Note 4 at $349.

May I ask why? I was looking forward to your insights on the device. We have currently shleved the GN4 article. We may revisit that in the future, though.

Preorders start tomorrow, sprint yet to announce it yet. Doesn't go on sale til Oct 17th though :-( .. Such a bummer. Been wanting this so bad and now another month to wait. Bleh. http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/09/18/samsung-galaxy-note-4-pre-orders-begin-september-19th-retail-availability-on-october-17th/

So that won't do any good in terms of getting more value for her 5 then. Now that unlock is for OUTSIDE of the USA only! Sprint will not unlock a iPhone for domestic use!
Unlocking for international travel
Traveling abroad? Sprint customers traveling abroad for a short period of time can have their Sprint service provisioned to allow for international roaming. See sprint.com/international for full details.
Sprint customers remaining abroad for an extended period of time may want to try to use their Sprint device with a foreign carrier. For certain devices engineered to include a SIM slot, Sprint may be able to unlock the device's SIM slot in order for a foreign carrier's SIM card to be inserted. Sprint will unlock, or facilitate the unlock of, the SIM slot of an applicable device for international travel under the following circumstances:
- The person requesting the unlock is a current Sprint customer who can provide the phone number or account number for the account.
- The person requesting the unlock can authenticate as the Account Holder or an Authorized Contact
- If the account is an ASL account:
- There is no unfulfilled Service Agreement associated with the line of service.
- There is no outstanding Installment Billing Agreement balance associated with the device.
- The account is in good standing (including but not limited to: payments are current, no write-off balance, not associated with a phone sent to collections, etc.).
- The subscriber with which the device is associated has not previously unlocked another device within the past 12 months.
- The applicable device has been active on the associated line of service for at least 90 days.
- The device is currently active on a Sprint account.
- The device is capable of international SIM unlock.
Please note that unlocking the SIM slot does not allow for use with domestic (U.S.) SIMs. When using a foreign carrier's SIM it is important to note that all information, service and support must be provided by that carrier. You remain responsible for any charges to your Sprint account, as well as any charges from the foreign provider. Upon returning to the U.S., you may need to remove the foreign carrier's SIM to be able to acquire the Sprint network.
If you elect to use a foreign carrier's SIM in a locked device for use on international GSM networks, please contact Sprint Worldwide Care to unlock the device SIM slot. Sprint Worldwide Care can be reached via chat or email from sprint.com/swwsupport or by calling 6s888-226-7212.

My wife has a iPhone 5 currently and her contract is up. Is it possible to have sprint unlock her phone so that we can sell it for more money since she wants to move to the 6?

Really encouraging to see his comments

If only it had a microsd card I would consider it.

I was really looking to get one after their showing in May but since then my desire has slowly dipped. Now seeing a review on poor battery life I can't justify spending $250 for something that won't last a full day.Ok, so the moto 360 will be available starting today, who's getting one? After coming to my senses, I don't think I will be getting one.

Recently joined s4gru and was hoping to hear something about the dfw market but quiet here. Any developments people know of?
-
Thank you! Ah I didn't check that. Then it make sense but I don't have to like it. Lol. My s3 needs to be retired.Welcome to S4GRU!
The Sprint Galaxy Note 3 launched on October 4th last year, so it's not too surprising.
-
From a posting on sammobile it seems like the note 4 might launch on Oct 10. Still over a month away :-(
-
Can't wait for this phone, my s3 needs to be retired!
